The Darjeeling Limited (2007)
Not even with a barge pole !
I went by the votes on IMDb which seem to be majorly rigged. This was the most boring & foolish movie to start the year with. Owen Wilson is as usual irritating to the hilt. Being from India, I couldn't figure out what movie actually meant. They better not release this movie in India if they don't want people burning down their house. Funny it may sound but a train doesn't get lost in India. Why would Natalie Portman waste herself in such a juvenile attempt at humor? It was way below expectations. The director did use some props well in the movie. They looked more like additions from Actors themselves. Less spoken about Owen Wilson, the better.
Fracture (2007)
We knew it all the way through !!
OK Ryan Gosling is one looker. He looks cuter and better than he did in Remember the Titans. But for heaven's sake stop thinking so much while remembering your lines. Sir Anthony Hopkins, for once I think its time you try being a bit nice on the cinema. Some how it looks the character you play has also seeped in to your personal life. I have seen him being the bad guy so many times that I actually want to start every movie by putting him behind bars.
The law related dialogues..too corny. Hollywood is going on the path of illiterate cinema. They give corny references (A good year, Pursuit of Happiness), extremely corny incidences. Just telling how much they are away from the reality. Honestly they should remain away from subjects and dialogues which they have no clue about or better consult a real professional. Acting wise David Strathairn has done a splendid job. He puts a smile on the face portraying this responsible and fair guy all the time. I am sure he likes being that way. Lady of the show -forgettable. Rest everybody else too insignificant to comment even.
Constantine (2005)
After a long time something different
Keanu Reeves shines in this gripping tale of quintessential existence of daemons and angels.Gabriel is after all as naughty as always. I had nothing else to do today so I thought to watch it and I was sure not disappointed. If people are planning to watch it on a DVD , do not, the visuals make this movie and they won't be fun on DVD( if its released). Rachel was kind of tricked to show cleavage which was un necessary in the movie. The whole movie looked like an extension of trick or treat concept one trying to over do the other. Btw its not a horror flick, its just supernatural stuff. The story tends to get a bit confusing but is nevertheless enjoyable. I give it 7 on 10.
Kisna: The Warrior Poet (2005)
Just avoid it !!!
I wonder what was Subhash Ghai trying to do with so much money and absolutely trash story with an inane English woman speaking nonsense Hindi and a Hindi trapeze artist. I saw it just for Antonia who was the only one who some what acted in this whole movie. Sushmita Sen as usual looked awesome though she wasn't needed in the movie, Vivek Oberoi..why can't you be a bit humble and try to do some acting?? Rest everybody else is wasted. And please stop coloring new cars in to some unknown local three wheelers. The song 'tu kisna hai' is the only one you might hum later. The Greek song is too out of place ,its neither English nor Indian.
Makeup..dresses...picturization...all substandard. Worst Mr Ghai I miss Saroj Khan and I don't want to see a village belle doing yoga on a rope. Before the movie starts there is an advertisement for some film institute by Mr Ghai. My request Mr Ghai please get yourself enrolled too.
