Ingeborg Holm (1913)
8/10
Great Hilda Borgstrom In The Film
25 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Ingeborg lost his husband(He was died by his disease), her family did not possess enough money to repay debt. She had to work in a workhouse for housekeeping and repaying it. Unfortunately she said goodbye to her children. One day, her second child(I do not remember the child was a daughter or a son) had got disease, so Ingeborg ran away from there to see the child. But that child was died in too young age by the disease sadly. She went back the workhouse to work and earn money. Several days later, her last child(Son) went to there to take a medical examination. Several years later, the son and last child of hers came to find his mother.

I am quite pleased Hilda Borgstrom to be a legendary actress in her generation. Hilda's performance looked realistic. The film was also hopefully listed in the top grossing films of 1915.

Assunta Spina (1915)
8/10
Bertini: Successful Italian Diva
20 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Assunta and Michele loved each other, but Raffaele who had a secret crush on her disturbed the party. The jealous man, Michele misunderstood, was disappointed to Assunta, scratched her face. She was disappointed to his act, but still loved him in her inside. After all, Michele was imprisoned. I am unsure, but one man(I cannot recall his name and occupation) in the court told Assunta that he found the way to release him. She was grateful to him. Several days after, he was discharged early. She, however, was pleased him to come and afraid of him as well. Michele wished her to greet him after being discharged. He was angry and knew she lost interest in him. He was determined to kill the man(He was not Raffaele), killed him. Then he disappeared. Unfortunately she told a police officer that she went to the police station or the court herself instead of Michele.

Raffaele is a villain, but Michele can be a villain. He was too jealous and problematic. And it is not direct, but it is quite bad that Raffaele disturbed the party even though indirectly. Owing to his direct interruption, she was ruined. Assunta Spina is a beautiful quite innocent lady, indeed.

It is splendid splendid film. Francesa Bertini was a talented Italian actress. Other performers' act satisfied me. The cinematography is quite gorgeous as well.

Black Brown is one of the best characters in 1917
19 September 2013
Jenny left home for meeting her uncle. She arrived at the town where she and her uncle were determined to see each other. But there was not her uncle, the strange man who was a burglar appeared in front of her. His name is Black Brown. Black Brown let her know that her uncle was killed by arrows of apaches. Then Brown pretended to become her uncle at the moment, Jenny told other people that he was her uncle. His mind got weaker(I am unsure), owing to her innocent personality. He swore to not do something bad to Jenny. Brown, however, broke a vow, stole gold, and then purchased the doll to give Jenny a present. Sheriff and other people came, were determined to strangle him. Brown confessed the truth that he was not Jenny's uncle, requested her to save him. Jenny requested Sheriff or one man. After all, Brown was not strangled. Then Jenny and Brown left the town together.

Black Brown was quite hot in the film. It was cute that his heart became weaker in front of Jenny. Jenny was boyish, she targeted someone(She did not know the man was Black Brown at that time) with the gun. Eliott Dexter looked a lot younger than his age, forty-six or seven in the film.

One of the most interesting Noirs.
19 September 2013
Owen's mama passed away, got to live in Conway's home. He was unhappy, especially drunken Jim bullied Owen, Owen ran away from a home in his age, ten. Owen worked and fought with the young gang, Skinny who bullied the small guy in Owen's age, seventeen. He became a leader of his own gangs in age, twenty-five. Did want to be a gang, but the beautiful kindly upper-class woman, Marie changed his life. Skinny, Owen's enemy requested Owen to hide him for he knifed one police officer and hated to die. Owen hid Skinny, became friends for a while. But Owen's mind changed, he abandoned Skinny for his right life. Skinny harassed Owen's small friend and Marie for his revenge. Owen saw the incident, fought with Skinny to save her. Skinny attempted to shoot Owen, but unfortunately shot Marie's neck. She got to go to bed. Owen thirsted for revenge. He strangled with him to kill, but could not do that after his mama occurred to him. Skinny ran away. Unfortunately Marie died.

I loved her classic beauty in the film. Very innocent and brave Marie are adorable. The most exciting scene is that beautiful innocent Marie bit Skinny's arm and pulled his hair. Most people just hate gangsters, but some people such as Marie are unlike most common people. I hopefully become a kindly woman like her. But it is too difficult to change human's mind. I was astonished at Skinny's style, kinda modern. He is good-looking, I still love his wicked gangster as well. The casting satisfied me the most. I remember everybody was well-acted.
