Yawn
16 May 2022
The whole thing focused on the parents talking and drama. Normal husband/wife problems. 😒 And if the mom revealed what Hank did to one of the campers last summer at camp and that's why he got kicked out-tbh, she should have sought some help for her son. I mean, it's not just child imagination-but seriously would you let your kid get away with psychopath or homicidal maniac? I'm not a parent, never will be. But if I was in the mom's shoes, instead of focusing on my problems, I would place my kid in therapy or in a rehab Center.

Solid

The protagonist being an aged film star. Ida Lupino played the role pretty well. Even though Barbara Trenton only sees herself in the old 1930s films and can't accept reality that things changed and her friends she acted with have all aged or passed away. I get the whole thing about aging and losing your youth, all these changes happening to you is quite stressful. And can lead to depression and isolation. Yes, you have to face reality that things have changed-but you can still be young at heart. You don't have to keep fantasizing yourself in the past. I know this is really what some aged actors, band member, rockstars, comedians go through when they're not as popular as they used to be.

Meh

Warning: Spoilers
Why are we suppose to show sympathy to a dude who treated his wife like garbage? I mean even after he gets rescued. In the end There's no "Honey, I'm sorry I was a jerk. I'll do anything to make it up to you." Or "you're right I was the one behaving like an idiot." 🤔

#HHMT is Satan as struck 🔥😈 We're in for one hell of a ride
7 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Oh, boy. What have we got here? A nice innocent children's animation with a cute sentient car named Little Red Car (LRC for short). Sure some of it is innocent and fun for preschool age kids. But the ones when Haunted Monster Truck (HHMT) appears from the depths of Hell chases him around in the dark lonely roads and a song is mentioned that he is going to cause him to die a painful death -spoilers, it's from a song "Come, Little Red Car" or whatever the freakin' song is called and that line singing in a sweet voice like it's from a nursery rhyme macabre "I'll clean the road up when I'm done with you." Damn! I thought this was a children's cartoon. But this villain doesn't talk...all he does is an evil laugh, his movements are repeated over & over.

Until it makes you die of boredom. What's cool and weird about this villain is that he's unlike any other villains from tv shows that are aimed for children (educational tv shows for toddlers and 1st graders). I mean, why? This dude literally causes a zombie apocalypse on humanity in "Destroyer of Worlds" and transforms all the sentient cars to be his evil zombie slaves bowing at his every whim. He can make threats of murder. He can disguise himself as an innocent vehicle or some vehicle you know. He can be summoned by the demon truck "Jack dreamer" who created nightmares. I also dub HHMT as "Devil Truck" 🔥Truth revealed...HHMT is the Devil. That's mentioned in a computer animated short called "Into the Future". Satan as a cartoon monster truck-they include that as the villain. Seriously, in a animation aimed at toddlers? 😳😧 If parents found this out, they would've literally have their jaws drop and have their kids watch Sesame Street or Mister Rogers instead.

Powerful film
20 September 2015
Really love the Vivaldi music in the movie. We first see how this boy lives his life in the woods and how he was captured. It was 1798 the boy was first spotted in the Caune woods at the age of 10 while looking for food. He was captured by two woodsmen, bound then brought to the village (LaCaune) and was displayed in the village square near the ancient fountain. Villagers were curious about him (this was something new)-this was during the time the Revoloutinary War ended and some years after the king and queen themselves were executed. He escaped and went back to the woods then was captured a year later by three hunters and their dogs when he was around 11-he was taken in by an old widow, which he stayed with almost a week-then escaped back to the mountains (wearing only a tattered shirt). He was first spotted in St. Sernin in a field in January 1800. He was first spotted by a tanner, then taken in by a Commissioner of St. Sernin (whom he stayed with about two or three days) then taken to an orphanage in Saint Affrique (which he stayed about a month) then taken to Rodez. It was true according to the film during his capture he tried to escape in fields but was eventually caught, when he was captured in the village of LaCaune and brought to the Central School of Rodez, children did tease him. He was locked up after attempting to escape in Rodez. He did have a man who always treated him kindly in Rodez. Victor was examined in Paris (he was first examined in Rodez)-the scars on his body really made philosophers and scientist believe he could've fought animals to survive. The scar on his neck was a sign that someone tried to kill him and leave him for dead in the woods. Itard did believe the wound healed miraculously. Victor was first mistaken as deaf because of him not reacting to certain sounds. He was displayed during the time he was in the Deaf-Mute institute-he was bullied by the students. He was believed to be an incurable idiot which didn't occur in Itard's case. Victor did have hot baths, walks and his own room. Victor did learn the alphabet, sorting things, wearing clothes and to open cupboard doors. Even if a child didn't have language or never will-it's possible they can still have good skills. Many autistics (even mute) do have good skills-if only they weren't treated like mentally retarded. So inspiring and attractive was the character was. Even his feral-like behavior and autistic behavior looked attractive.

One of my favorites
19 September 2015
Love this movie. I am a big nature fan and I so dream being part of nature vs the human civilized world. I don't care if it's just a movie or acting-I still believe in my mind it's real, I envy his life. Mowgli making the same sound as the animals (to a bird, to monkeys, to wolves, to a bear). Jumping in the water playing with the elephants. Sleeping in a cave with wolves. Eating bugs, bird's eggs, and jungle fruit. Sleeping on a tree. Howling at a moon. Which you could never be able to do in the civilized world if some parts of cities had forest. That kind of life would be heaven (speaking like how animals do, playing with elephants in the water, swing on vines, climbing trees, eating nature food, sleeping on a tree and howling at the moon, running with wolves).

Mimi-Siku character
19 September 2015
I honestly like this Mimi-Siku better in this version. In two versions (Little Indian Big City "Un Indien Dans la ville) and Jungle 2 Jungle- the characters had different personalities. 1. First shot we see of the character walking in the jungle, canoing in the river, shooting a iguana with a bow and arrow and shooting a rocket that's self destructing (which the beginning of Mimi in the Disney film was a little different) 2.In most scenes when Mimi wears that loincloth his face is always painted (only part when he doesn't have the painted red on his face is when he wears clothes. (That was unlike the Mimi in the Disney version when he wore the loincloth and all, his face was not painted). 3. On Mimi's first visit to Paris, he actually wears clothes but is still barefooted despite wearing a loincloth all his life-I guess they wouldn't allow a kid to go around half-naked in a city (even though on Mimi's first visit to New York, he was still in loincloth) 5. Some scenes Mimi wears the headband, some scenes he doesn't. 6. How Mimi spoke (if you heard him in the English dub) was like a real Indian. He didn't speak like he was educated French/English. He said Paliku taught it to him. Some would say that is how a 2 1/2 year old kid would've talked. "Me do this-you do that." 7. Mimi is never emotional in most of the scenes. The English dubbed version he says to his dad at the airport "Me no cry. Me a man." Even a man can cry and have emotions-but never in his tribe. But it's kind of cute the way some kids say that "Me not scared. Me a grown-up. Me no cry. Me a grown-up."

Positive and Negative about the movie
19 September 2015
I loved this movie as a little kid. I was about 7 years old when it came out on VHS. I did see some characters were missing in the movie and some stuff didn't make sense. I didn't see Kaa. 1. I was asking why wasn't Kaa in this movie? 2.Since when did Mowgli have a wolf sister (instead of a wolf brother)? 3. How was Mowgli the adopted son of the wolf-leader Akela? 4. How come they only had a 7 year old kid lost in the jungle being taken in by wolves and he is still wearing clothes-the next scene his pants are torn (which look like shorts), he carries some kind of knapsack-the other scene he still wears the same pants he wore when he was in the human camp and vest but doesn't wear the shirt (still wears the satchel). That one scene when Mowgli grows a little older, the part when he swings on a vine and sees a human who is in a military uniform (and he narrates he wondered about his past). Then after running away for blaming himself about his mother's death he gets curious when he sees a human camp with real pack of man. Wouldn't a 7 year old kid if they grow up in nature around 11-12 years know about their human past? :/ 5. When Mowgli is lured by the chimps they call it "monkey-town." Looks more like a zoo place instead of being in a ruined city. What was with that abandoned hut full of old things? Who lived in that place?
