Hi-eo-ro-neun A-nib-ni-da-man (2024)
Not a Superhero Movie
I can empathize with the characters as I have depression, anxiety, and multiple health issues. They are people who are unable to perform to the best of their ability and they just happen to be have super powers.
The "fat" sister is wholly unbelievable. No one spends the rent money on food. No fat person is constantly thinking of eating...they just become fat because of various issues, usually related to health.
My issue is with the "mysterious" woman who saves the main character from drowning. It appeared to be happenstance that she was there at the beach, but then later it appeared to be some type of grift. I will continue to watch to see where this show is going with the plot.
Lizzie Borden Took an Ax (2014)
Spoiler Alert - This Movie Sucked Big Time
The biggest turn off for me was the choice of contemporary music and a very non-factual retelling of the story.
A lot of surmising on a possible motive other than pure greed or revenge for the killing of her birds on the part of Lizzie Borden, if she had been the perpetrator: "she was a victim of incest" and/or "she was simply petulant about not being allowed to go to a party".
Fiction: 1. She was accused of stealing a mirror from the mercantile and $20 and a watch from her stepmother for which the police were called. (if this had really happened the prosecution would have introduced it into evidence as to the character of the defendant). 2. She had a lover (then why did she and her sister never marry). 3. A hint of a sexual relationship between Lizzie and a close friend caused Lizzie to tell Emma about the murders 4. She told her sister that she had killed her father and stepmother; and that she had removed everything but her underclothing prior to the murder. (how then did she get the much disputed spot on her dress and why did she burn it). And that was what caused the rift between them. 5. Her father woke up as she killed him (the autopsy showed he was killed in his sleep).
Fact: 1. She was drugged after the murder to calm her nerves and during the subsequent inquest. 2. She burned a blue dress because it was covered in "paint". 3. She and her sister had an argument years after the murders, no one really knows why, but reportedly was related to Lizzie's choice of companions.
