Dhoom:3 (2013)
Far better than second installment
Before watching this movie, I have read few reviews, some from critics and some from laymen and I was tentative to watch it. In second installment there were many loopholes like double role of Bispasha Basu which was created with absolutely no logic and stretching of love theme between Bipasha and Uday Chopra , Also many stunts in second part seemed copied from English movie 'Torque'. This one is filled upto brim with chases and stunts which are original and they help the movie in keeping the pace. In many criticisms of this movie I read that Amir Khan has not lived up to standards of Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham as antagonists. But I you follow the story In this movie there is a justification of him being an antagonist. I even can not think of another star in such a role. Aamir carries out this role in his own no nonsense way keeping up with style quotient. I loved the dance sequences in this movie. Abhishek Bacchan has carried his role well and I like Uday Chopra more as comedian than as a hero. If you like fast paced movies, go watch this movie
Journey Bombay to Goa: Laughter Unlimited (2007)
Underrated, better than current mishmashes
I got opportunity to watch this movie on Sunday TV, I found it far better than current mishmash of high budget comedy movies we are getting currently. Vijay Raj outshines everybody with his usual antics, We still miss his Kawwa Biryani kind of over confident characters. The whole team of Laughter challenge is in this laugh fest and every body does his bit. Although this movie is shoddily written, loosely based on "Its a mad mad mad world". But the situations created and the situational responses of different characters are hilarious. In the days of cheap sex comedies, I found this movie far more entertaining than other 100 crore earning movies.
Boss (2013)
It would have been better if it had only Akshay Kumar
New Hindi masala story, lots of characters and Akki. But Mithun Chakraborty and others will ham like anything and bore you to death. The songs slow down this movie to a snail's pace. But whenever Akshay Kumar AKA Akki comes in to frame this movie rocks. I am a big Akki fan, and love when Akki does his usual stuff. This movie has all the ingredients for a true AKKI fan, And boy o boy when Akki does action it is at par with any Hollywood Movie. I loved the "mazaar" fight scene, the run on old Delhi streets and buildings 'run' and greatest of all last fight scene. Every movie I seen of Akki right from Rowdy Rathore to Boss Akki has bettered himself in fight movies. I suggest even if you dislike Akki go watch this movie for entertainment.
Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela (2013)
Tarantino meets Bhansali meets Shakespere
I was tentative to watch this movie, because I do not like Bhansali after Saanwaria and Guzaarish, but when I spent 156 minutes I was mesmerized by splash of colors. You can see the effort of director to convey the feelings in every frame, every camera angle, every dance step. There is inherent style in every bit and piece of this Movie. Deepika Padukone is stunning in every scene, one cannot take eyes off her. Supriya Pathak has done full justice to the role of an "Ogre". The vibrant colours of Gujrat, the local folk dances are very well embedded in the dance and song sequences. "Morbani Thangat Kare" soothes your senses despite the fact you do not understand a single word of it, if you are not a Gujrati. Yes, It feels like the music is derived from "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" but it is good, although Bhansali should refrain from writing the lyrics. Kudos to you Mr. "Sanjay Leela Bhansali" , you have given me a movie which I already watched two times and will continue watching more.
