Very Interesting Plot, Fun Movie
14 August 2015
This film follows a man named Neil Clarke (Simon Pegg) and his story after being granted the ability to get whatever he wishes for by a group of aliens as an experiment.

This film had some great advertisements that interested me to watch this film. Its plot line alone, the ability to grant any wish you have to come true, had me intrigued. The film does a good job at keeping the 'wonder' feel going throughout the film. The missing two stars are because i just feel so much more could of been done in this film and there were many opportunities to branch out and do different stuff, but most of the time they kept it simple. A few of his wishes were clever and mad me really wonder 'what would i wish for?' but some were far too simple.

I won't spoil it because this is spoiler free, but the ending to this film isn't as good as the first half of the film. That was probably the weakest part. You won't walk out of this movie thinking 'Oh my gosh Simon Pegg just delivered the best performance in his entire career' but, that does not mean it was bad. the acting was good, the editing was fine as well and overall, i recommend this film on a rainy day as entertainment to pass the time. I doubt it will be the best film you have ever seen but you will have a fun time with it. 8/10

Good...Just Doesn't Appeal To All Ages
27 July 2015
I'll start off by saying I'm 14. I went to see it with my sister and family friends. The cinema was packed with very young kids, and i think they loved it a lot more than me.

I liked Despicable Me and i loved Despicable Me 2. But Minions fell short without Gru and the comedy was far from original. It was mainly just cheap laughs of a Minion falling over or flying into a pole or pulling funny faces. These pleased the young ones who were screaming in laughter but for the older ones it just felt silly. I gave it a 6 though because there were a few moments that made me laugh in my head and the story wasn't awful. The start was one of the best bits, showing the minions journey through the ages. It went downhill from start to end.

If its a rainy day and your 5 year old child is bored then sacrifice two hours and watch this film: its not unbearable. They will love it, its just it doesn't appeal all ages like the best animated films do like Up and Inside Out. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends but i also wouldn't say avoid it.

everything about it is awesome!
25 July 2014
Well, i think there will be a lot of criticism coming from older viewers, but the film is exactly as it makes out to be. Fun, exciting and funny. The visual in general is very good. The characters all work very well, and it helps with the cast list littered with celebrities! If you want to see it for a serious inspection of an action-animation comedy, don't bother watching. If you want to have a laugh and something to cheer you up, i highly recommend the Lego movie for you. The film has serious moments at exactly the right times, and makes unnecessary jokes that surprisingly make it better. I had a good time watching it and I'm sure you will too.

Great Movie, great plot line
24 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This is my first review on IMDb, because I thought to choose the most recent film I have seen, which was today's White House Down. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and I thought the plot was fantastic. The father and daughter trapped together was brilliant. An outstanding performance from Jamie Foxx and Çhanning Tatum, but the nine rating is because of not so great acting from Lance Reddick in particular, who played General Caufield. Their were noticeable other weak performances. The relations to earlier points happened a lot, when Emily does the flag waving and the pocket watch saves Saywer from dieing at the end. I enjoyed this movie a lot, and would recommend to a friend.
