Adini Feriha Koydum (2011–2012)

I'm still confused
18 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I love Turkish dramas and this one has it all but in saying that it also had me wanting to throw myself off a balcony but I could not stop watching it. It was so depressing what this girl went through - from beatings from her father and brother (even a slap from her husband), to kidnapping, poisonings, bullying and plots and set ups. I watched up until Feriha was shot at the wedding and then skipped through the next episodes until the end. First of all I want to say that Cagatay Ulusoy is a fantastic actor. If it wasn't for him, I would have stopped watching earlier on in the series. He brought the character of Emir to life and had me believing in everything he was portraying. He is a very handsome man who seemed to get buffer and more handsome as the series went on (that gets 5 stars on its own). Feriha's character annoyed me at times, but again, it was well acted and I was rooting for Emir & Feriha's happily ever after right throughout. So the confusion comes after the wedding/shooting episode. It just didn't work for me. I hated everything about it and it didn't seem right not having Emir and Feriha together. I just couldn't in all honesty watch the episodes right through and fast forwarded through most of them. So if you are confused by my review, I suggest you watch this show and then you'll understand why. I am still asking myself... why????

Absolutely brilliant!
23 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Over the last 5 days, I have binged watched this Turkish TV show with English subtitles. I am left in amazement at the gift of a story well told, especially a love story. I must admit it didn't really hook me in at the start, but I persevered and 5 days and 51 two hour episodes later I am agog at the share magnificence of it all. I do not know the actors, writers, producers or director but I would like to say bravo as it seems to me this was all a match made in heaven. The chemistry between the two main actors was indescribably electric which is why I think this show is so successful. I was carried away to another place and became totally caught up in the story lines of all the characters. I have read all the reviews here, both good and bad, and I can understand where everyone is coming from. Not every show is perfect and I must admit that there were some frustrating parts of the show and a few inconsistencies but I still give it a 10/10 because it did what all good well written and well acted shows should do - it made me feel! Yes this cold caged heart of mine was touched by this stirring love story. Well done to all involved - you achieved the impossible. Ha ha. You will not regret watching this - I absolutely promise you.

You'll want to stick with this one
19 October 2020
I was not hooked at first but I stuck with it and I can honestly say that I'm glad I did. So relevant to today's issues & wonderfully portrayed by a very talented cast. I am dealing with mental health issues in my family at the moment and & could relate entirely to that part of the storyline. A lovely romance between the two main characters as well. I hope it continues. Would love to see where all the characters stories go - hoping for a season 2.

Bring on Season 2!
16 October 2019
With social media being as it is, you cannot help but get roped into all the controversy going on about this show. So I took a look at some YouTube clips and other things going around on Twitter and Instagram etc and got the general gist of what the show is all about. All I can say, is that I was hooked - right from the very first clip. Whoever had the brilliant idea to cast Theo James as the tall, dark, mysteriously brooding Sidney Parker should be applauded. He is absolutely brilliant in this role. I have seen him in other things, but I think this has really showed how good of an actor he really is. Of course he is handsome (any red blooded female can see that) but that didn't even matter to me, because he brought Sidney Parker to life for me. He made me fall in love with him just as Charlotte did and he made me irritated and annoyed just as Charlotte was. He is just an amazing actor and he suited this role to a tee. Charlotte's character (played by Rose Williams) took me a while to warm up to but I found her maturing with each episode and I liked her spunk and charisma but I also liked her softer more vulnerable side which came out slowly as she begun to realize her true feelings for Sidney. Rose is a very talented actor as well. She is exactly how I would picture Charlotte to be.

So to all you people saying how horrible it is and that Jane Austen would be turning in her grave etc etc, I say - SO WHAT! I have a sneaky suspicion that she really isn't worried about it in the slightest. Get over yourselves, get a glass of wine, sit back and just enjoy this wonderfully lovely romantic story. I did! Bring on season 2!!!

Incredible
13 August 2019
So hats off to Netflix. Again I have stumbled onto another amazing series that I had never read about or heard about.... EVER! This series is by far one of the most captivating and beautiful stories every written. At first having subtitles was a bit of a turn off for me but I persevered and so glad I did. If this story was in English it would detract from its incomparable story line and accuracy in history.

The cast is to be applauded. The main character especially... WOW! Those piercing blue eyes had my heart skipping beats, it it worth watching this show if only to see him not to mention also that he is indeed a superb actor, incredible even. He truly brought Kurt Seyit alive for me. The scenery and costumes were fantastic.

I recommend you give this a go. I dare you not to love it.

It just gets better and better

If you haven't starting watching this yet and you're are thinking about it - think no more and just watch it. You won't be sorry. This series is sensational with brilliant writing and phenomenal acting. There is so much going on but it is easy to follow the storyline and it keeps you interested and excited and anxious for more. When season 2 ended it was tough. I am now started to watch season 3 and so far I am not disappointed. Thank you Netflix for another amazing series. I am rooting for a season 4 and more please.

Loved, loved, loved it!
26 August 2018
Another wonderful show I came across by accident and so glad I did. Loved, loved, loved it and the ending... oh my goodness talk about a cliff hanger. Loved the characters, loved the actors, love the storyline. At first I thought these are really adult themes for teenagers to be acting out but then I realised the reality of our world today is that this is actual real life for so many teenagers today who by no fault of their own are living these adult themes way before they should be. This series shows this in a very tasteful and realistic way that really gets you thinking. The characters are down to earth and very relevant to the show. The romance, the humour and even the violence that is portrayed is a credit to the writers whom I think may have been writing from their own life experiences I'm sure. Would be interested in knowing if that is indeed true. Watch it - you won't regret it. Hope there is a season two.

Unleashing Mr. Darcy (2016 TV Movie)
8/10
Give it a go
1 May 2018
Come on people... this is Hallmark... not Masterpiece Theater. It is what it is and although based on Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, there should be NO comparison to the book or BBC series whatsoever. This is by far one of my more favorite Hallmark movies and I loved it. As with all Hallmark movies, the romance is a bit weak at best (need more kissing & groping - how could one keep their hands of Ryan Paevy). I hope they step it up a bit in the sequel, Marrying Mr Darcy, which will air on Hallmark Channel in June 2018. The lead character, Ryan Paevy (Donovan Darcy), is dishy and very easy on the eyes. If Hallmark did anything right with this show it is in casting a gorgeous hunk to play Mr Darcy. He is exactly who I picture now when I read Pride & Prejudice. Well done!

Loving Leah (2009 TV Movie)

Would definitely watch this again
19 March 2018
I came across this movie quite by accident and began to watch it. Being a Hallmark romance, I kind of had an idea where this would go. However, I was pleasantly surprised and it seemed to me to be different from most other Hallmark movies. The more I watched, the more I became intrigued and wondered just what road this story would take. Although, not Jewish myself, I am always amazed about religion and how one dedicates themselves to any religion, Jewish or not. I found this element of the movie most informative and very interesting. I would love to see this movie with a bigger budget just to see a bit more romance and chemistry and story between Leah & Jake. I thought the actors were superb and suited the roles to a tee, even the supporting cast. It was great seeing Ricki Lake also. I would recommend this movie to any of my friends. It was just wonderful and left me wanting to see more of their story.

Why do they cancel all the good shows?
1 March 2018
Why was this show cancelled???? I had watched it before and rewatched it again on Netflix. I loved it from beginning to end. The actors are all excellent and the storylines entertaining (as much as one can be while dealing with issues of cancer). Season two just ended without any resolution to anything. This is very frustrating. Whoever made the decision to axe this show should be axed themselves. Please, please if any exec producers or any person like that is reading this, please reconsider continuing the show, although I assume the actors have all moved on to different things now but anything is possible - hey they brought Will & Grace back!

The Greatest Showman is the greatest show...EVER!
24 January 2018
This is the first time I think I have ever rated a show 10/10. This is a must see people. Music is fantastic, acting & cast superb, storyline creative and entertaining, overall experience - AMAZING! I just want to know what show the critics saw because according to every review I have read here and online etc, everyone who has seen this film loved it and have either gone to see it again in the theaters or have pre-ordered DVD's and the soundtrack. If you haven't seen it yet, don't delay... it is so worth it.

I like it
22 January 2018
I like it! I am not ashamed to say I really like it. It kept me entertained and left me wanting more like every show should. I love the chemistry between Megan & Kyle. At first when the whole Institute of the Higher Mind came into it, I was a bit skeptical but it works for me and I enjoy that part of the story line as well. A binge worth series. Can't wait for season 2.

So innocently orgasmic
22 August 2017
What a delight to find this gem. As I lay in my sick bed at home these past few days I decided to browse my Netflix account to find something "decent" to watch. I had not heard of WCTH (When Calls The Heart), I have never read the books, in fact I never even knew they existed. I watched the first episode and was hooked. Unfortunately Netflix only had the first two seasons so had to watch season 3 & 4 on YouTube. This show had me so hooked that I forgot that I was even in pain and went hours without having to pop any pain killers. What a marvelous, entertaining, uplifting show and so romantic. It has everything in it that today's shows lack and that is integrity and virtue, kindness and real love. I love, love, love Dan Lissing. I fell in love with him in Last Resort but didn't realize he was from Australia (won't hold that against him though - ha ha - its a Kiwi/Aussie thing). The chemistry between himself and Erin Krakow is electric. The looks, the glances, the smiles, the teasing and innocent flirting was more orgasmic than watching a scripted, unrealistic sex scene in a mediocre movie or TV show. Well done Hallmark! May this show continue for many many years to come. Thank you for helping me recover quicker than I had anticipated - It must have been all those endorphin's coursing through my body.

Wonderfuly addicting
22 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I just found this show on Netflix. I had seen it advertised on TV but never watched it because it was aired so late at night. However I have to say - I am totally and utterly hooked. I have laughed, cried, cringed and smiled. The actors are lovable and quirky and remind me of a lot of people I already know in real life. The family is so outrageously dysfunctional but seem to work through all their issues because of the love they have for each other and their interpretation of what "family" is and means. Nina is lovable and funny although at times I have wanted to shake her but for the most part she is the show and without her it would be nothing. I give this 9 out of 10 because it has made me "feel" which a lot of shows have lacked lately. Big props to the writers and the cast. You truly have a hit on your hands.

It's a mans world...
16 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
So I'm an older viewer but a fan nonetheless. I really love the characters and the story lines. The show deals with a lot of teenage issues that most face today and do it very well. However I was disappointed in season 3. I thought the story about Lola & Miles was great however when she got pregnant and had an abortion I was disappointed by the lack of responsibility or even interest shown by Miles. When he found out Lola had become pregnant and had an abortion he showed no remorse, no compassion or even concern towards Lola and I don't think even spoke to her about it or even asked how she was. This to me was very lax and very disappointing as if to say that men do not have to take responsibility for their actions. I hope that in season 4 they rectify this somehow.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015–2019)

Bring Back Greg!!!!!!
16 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, just to start with I really like this show. However season 2 has been a little harder to watch especially since Greg is no longer in the picture. In fact, according to just about every article I have read about it, he will not be returning at all to the show. I don't know about anybody else, but I quite liked the love triangle for once. It was fun and entertaining and even though Rebecca is supposedly crazy for Josh Chan, I think it would have been a good story line for her to end up with his best friend. Afterall, they fit well together and he was so head over heels for her. Sometimes actually always most often life is like that. We don't know what we have until its too late but for a show like this where anything is possible, all I ask is that you bring Greg back and lets see how life really would work out for a change. I don't think I like the show without Greg. Again another show that builds you up only to disappoint you by killing off the most favorite characters so to speak. My rating would be higher if Greg was still in it. Bring Greg back!

The Vampire Diaries (2009–2017)

Loving Vampire Diaries
20 September 2016
So I am a late bloomer. I would not consider myself a lover of vampire stories, just barely made it through the Twilight movies, but I have just been introduced to Vampire Diaries by my husband no less - thanks Netflix. I am half way through season 4 and I have become obsessed with this show. Yes, at times the story line wavers, as it does with every television series, and to be honest I just wanted to slap Elena when she couldn't make up her mind which brother she wanted (a girl should be so lucky) but thank you to the writers for keeping us hooked with other story lines as well. I am completely infatuated with Paul Wesley (Stephan). He oozes charm, charisma and most definitely sex appeal. A very talented actor and looking forward to seeing more from him. Ian Somerhalder(Damon)also most definitely fits into those categories but unlike Elena, my vote definitely goes to Team Stephan. I would recommend this show to anyone I come in contact with and although I still have a lot more to watch, I am most definitely a huge fan and to the cast and crew I wish the show every success.

Love It! Love It! Love It!
25 March 2015
I too am a huge fan of the Winston Graham novels and especially the original Poldark series that I watched as a young girl. I was a bit skeptical that they could remake such a classic but I am pleasantly surprised and how much I am loving this show so far. Aidan portrays Ross Poldark so well and is hot hot hot to say the least. The girl who plays Demelza (sorry her name escapes me at present) is great. I remember her from The White Queen mini-series and was impressed with her then. I was totally enthralled from beginning to end. The chemistry between Ross & Demelza is amazing, just how it should be. This series is well casted and well written. I am hooked! Hope it is around for a long long time. I am definitely a fan.

Love It! Love It! Love It!
9 December 2013
Historically correct - no! Entertaining - yes! I love everything about it. The costumes are breathtaking. The characters are beautiful. The romance, just can't get enough of it. Just love the music, it fits so perfectly well with the story lines (I hope they put a soundtrack out). Well done to the creators and writers for finally giving me a show that I actually want to sit and watch over and over again. It has been a long time coming. I sat and watch with my husband who also enjoyed it. His only comment was that there needed to be a few more battle/fighting scenes. If I were to change anything it would be probably to make the episodes longer.
