The Bear: Forks (2023)
Every second counts.
This episode is the best I've ever seen in terms of character development. I thought Richie was the deepest character in the show before, but didn't anticipate this development. The moment he serves the pan pizza and you see the excitement on his face, coupled with the scenes afterwards, triggered such strong emotions in me that my face was full of tears.
This episode is just brilliant. The change of pace, the camera work, the dialogue, the music, the actors. It makes me look completely new at gastronomic service, which I learned and hated. Not only that, the episode made me think about life itself and motivated me. Every second counts.
Thanks to all involved for creating this fantastic piece of art.
The Walking Dead: Rest in Peace (2022)
Something special.
I know this series has been a constant up and down. Like many, I stopped watching at one point, started again, and stopped again. But something always brought me back to this series, which has now accompanied me for a large part of my life.
What the creators of the series have achieved towards the end is something special. Especially this last episode of the original series expressed so much beautiful that it leaves me emotional after the last words of Judith. Especially the montage of all those we lost over the series was beautifully done. Also to be mentioned is the great build up of the many characters that were added within the last 3 seasons, such as Lydia, which really added to the series in terms of the complexity of the characters. The fact that with Eugene someone who was introduced as a coward in the series and towards the end became the most courageous of all, as well as the strong personal improvement from the evil par excellence Negan, to a heartwarming character who really wants to do something good, is terrific character development, which in my opinion rarely occurs within series.
We can only congratulate the creators of the series, because they have created something great, which will remain timeless for a long time because of the theme and the message in the subtext.
The end of this show can only be recognized as one of the best ever, where really little comes close (Six Feet Under remains unbeaten). It was a really great ride and I'm positively looking forward to the mini-series with Rick and Michonne.
