The White Lotus (2021)
If you can endure cringe it's good
At first I didn't like it, cringy, uncomfortable and also slow. My wife wanted us to continue so we did and then it got better... I decided to not feel second hand pain/shame/etc... And it got fun.
Ready or Not (2019)
I came knowing nothing
Do yourself a favor and stop reading reviews and watch it if you can enjoy absurd movies.
Continue only if you've seen it.
I think they tried to do a bad movie and failed and ended up with a masterpiece that not even they expected great post production, directing and script!
I wanted to vote 10 to improve the grades but well, let's be fair and give it an 8.
Raya and the Last Dragon (2021)
Loved it. Linear but enjoyable.
Yes, it's nothing new. But totally liked it. Not going to be the big blockbuster but totally worth it. Nice job team... I read your note after credits and laughed I know the struggle.
Hunter x Hunter: This Person × and × This Moment (2014)
Perfection
This episode should get an award for best episode in any series ever. It is just something else. Of course it depends on many other episodes, that's its big flaw... but it still is that good.
Logan (2017)
Awefull Many inconsistencies.
I'm not going to spoil it, just says a few things of the first quarter of the movie: They pass a car through the border with many bullet holes. A nurse records every underground surgery and random happening of a top secret project. Many kids gets thousands in cash just by chance. Bad guys don't shoot but wait to get killed. Oh and it's super predictable. Really? Did I see the same movie everyone's praising. Without the plot holes or inconsistencies it would be at most "a good movie", but with so much being wrong: it's awful.
The Hunger Games (2012)
It could be said "Based in the book" not Book made movie
If you've read the book you will understand it, but not like it. If you haven't read it, you won't get it as you should and probably still do not like it. There are no bonds no chemistry, the mood is ridiculous, no much background, no introspection (that is obvious since the book is first person writing). Acting for 2 or 3 person was all right, good even, but all the others, specially the tributes from 1 to 10, are terrible. I can almost be sure the director read the book in a hurry, and... who made the script? He got many things wrong. Peeta regretting he was not kind enough??. And for the many things that book readers do not agree with, well that would take me l00 lines and you might still find more in the forums. Anyway! Bad movie. Did not like it. Disappointed. PS. I started the book on Thursday, finished it in Sunday then went to watch the movie. The book was fresh in my mind.
Little Fockers (2010)
Not bad as many think, just don't expect great!
If it was a movie with intentions of being forever remembered and awarded with Oscars I would rate it 2/10 of course, but knowing it has been made for laughing, then it's a 7. I did laugh quite a bit, but it's not an 8 or 9 because some jokes are not my kind of humor or it's the same jokes as the previous movies in the series (with the last name and so on). Also, the plot is dull, like always, things don't work out for Greg and blah blah.
The positive: Some fresh jokes, Good acting, Laughs are guaranteed.
The negative: DeNiro while showing great character adaptation, I miss him in more serious movies. Some jokes are old, Same formula.
So, to sum it up: Just go see it if you want to laugh, don't expect to be a great movie.
PS. Jessica Alba looks great in the movie, but the character is tedious.
Avatar (2009)
Mind Blowing Experience in Imax 3D!!
If I had seen non 3D version I might had voted 9 or 8.5 because the movie wouldn't be unique (history: non-unique, technology: non-unique as well).
But The IMAX 3D experience is unbelievable! Utterly amazing!
As for technology: I had never seen a 3D movie as detailed as this one. It's realistic, instead of fantastic (Unlike Monsters VS Aliens, Scrooge, etc). It uses 3D as it should be used, to make the movie as real as possible. The animation is outstanding, vivid, fantastic yet realistic too.
As for the plot: Is not 100% new, but hey, today we cannot get a plot that is 100% different from something in the past. It still touches you. You really feel connected to the story (thanks to a well directed plot, not so the performances which are good, but not perfect; the best ones are Weaver and Lang).
Overall: Well Worked, It's a Must! And if you have an Imax 3D theater near you, it would be a waste to pay another hall. At lest 3D! 10 Stars and now ranks among my top 10 without doubt. It has been a while since I enjoyed so much going to the movies.
