well, where to begin? this game isn't bad, but its still not that great. the graphics are awesome, blows me away, and the actors for the voice overs sound like the actors. however, the new features, like the "on foot combat" is atrocious, way to sporadic and random. the flight is great, best in the series, but there just isn't enough of it, and the whole idea is kind of milked out. the co-op is good, adding a new challenge, the old rogue squadron 2 is in there, as well as a versus mode with a lot of fun to be had, i would rent this game if you had a friend over and play the co-op, but the single player is just to bad, if they had done something like battlefront for the on-foot combat, we would have a great game, however, they didn't, its a real shame, however the old arcade games are there to find and play, plus a lot of unlock able vehicles, however, that just doesn't do it for me, 6/10

that is the only word i have to describe this game, whoa. everything about this game is amazing. the level design is superb and original, offering new challenges that seem daunting, but aren't too hard to figure out. the character design is amazing, from the smallest grunt, to the tallest god (of war... sorry, i couldn't resist) the animations and movements of the characters are smooth and great top look at. the fighting looks kind of like a button masher, but it is deep, layered, and fun to get into, offering combos that give you more experience, or letting you rip your enemy in half. the only complaint is that a lot of the gore is over the top, like ripping the wings off a harpie, ripping the arm off an enemy and killing them with hit, and lastly (the most fun to watch) stabbing a Minotaur in the face. all in all, this is the reason action adventure games were created, the reason for anyone who doesn't already to get a ps2, and, dare i say?, the best ps2 game I've ever played, 10/10

wow, i had great expectations for this game, i mean, a new developer should get over that abysmal star for adventures, and it does. The ship combat is beautiful, but the controls are kind of off. the tank combat is fun, but the tank is hard to control. the on foot combat is bad, but it manages to bring you into it. the script writing is OK, a lot of the dialog is really corny (dang, fox help me out! who says dang?) I'm not going to ruin anything for anyone, but the ending was the worst part, way too corny. the voice acting sounds great, but some of the actors need some acting lessons. the difficulty is nice, not too hard, but not a pushover either. the multi-player is fun, giving you the option to use any vehicle and most weapons, but there aren't many features except for unlockable characters. a capture the flag would be awesome. overall, nice, fun, a quick little romp in the star fox universe.

OK, there are ship battles, but they are few and far between. the rest of the game is a half realized Zelda game. the action is too awkward, the aiming is really weird, some parts in the story don't make much sense (no blasters....? well, this is excusable, no advanced technology for the dinosaurs, but come on, the dinosaurs are gonna die if you don't blast some baddies) a lot of the characters movements are awkward, and the story is kind of sad, not in terms of mood, but in terms of they could have done a lot better. the game isn't all bad, the adventure parts have their moments, and the ship combat is extremely enjoyable. but that doesn't salvage the wreck of a game it is, Nintendo should have gotten a better performance out of rare, as this was their last game for Nintendo, lets pray for star fox assault to be better.
