Halo (2022)
What a Train Wreck
The first rule when making movies out of beloved cheaters is not to mess with them.
You can add to them and the story but never mess with the core of them or your going to see it hit the fan .
They all but took a chainsaw to them and made them jokes of what they should be.
For example superman and and lois..
At their core both are them are what we expect and the writing and actors bring more depth to it adding more to the story.
Halo does none of this.
Master chief is like watching a cardboard cutout and most of the people are uninteresting and boring.
This is not the fault of the actors as they are stuck with what they have been given.
This could be turned around but they got a very limited amount of time to do it and it's likely they are clueless to how badly they messed things up.
Alien: Covenant (2017)
Visually Stunning but a messed up flim otherwise
Visually Ridley Scott makes things look beautiful but when he gets things wrong he just as good at it.
There are plot holes and missing peaces of the film all over the place big enough to drive a spaceship through.
There is so little charter development that it not tell someone says my wife that we realize that they are couples. There is repeated multiple times lol.
One would expect landing on a alien planet that people would take precautions not these guys.
Of course this is the same people that abandons a missions after hearing a John Denver song in space. So its clearly a mission to get rid of the morons from planet earth .
But we are talking about a film where multiple people slip in the same pool of blood multiple times in the space of minutes so there not much to hope for here.
Virus Shark (2021)
Its actually a really bad zombie movie i think
I am fairly certainly most if not all the cast are zombies because no one living could act this bad.
The acting is one longggg unending monotone that may actually cause brain damage if listened too for too long.
Was this film shows at Trump events before he came on the stage?
Would actually explain a hell of a lot.
Chef (2014)
A labor of love for all involed.
There going to be better written reviews that go into depth but i ma going to keep it simple.
The people involved clearly loved what they were doing.
It set in the real world with real people and it makes us care about the people in the movie.
It's not shakespeare but it doesn't need to be and wasn't trying to be.
Its a good script with great actors clearly enjoying what they are doing.
Doctor Who (2005)
Its ot Doctor Who anymore.
Its not the fact there a female doctor that doesn't matter one bit but the fact that its bland as hell.
She a fine actress to be sure but she put none of herself into the role making it come across as bland and derivative of past doctors.
Every doctors put there own take on the doctor and there personalty into it making for a rich and highly complex character.
This one is about as exciting as watching paint dry and the supporting cast is little better.
Much of this has got to do with the writing which for the most part is a massive train wreck of epic proportions.
Hugely under developed charters leading to the watchers not caring one bit of having any investment.
Preaching to the audience the current trending ideas which isn't a problem as long as it made to be entertaining.
This is after all a escape for people and having political issue hammered over their heads is not why they tune in.
Most damaging is the writing betraying what the public holds dear which is about as insanely dumb as you can get.
You do not betray your user base or in this case viewer base and expect to not pay dearly.
Sadly this is likely going to be the end of doctor who for a bit tell the BBC can get its act together and start listening to the people who watch doctor who.

Batwoman (2019)
Something of a hot mess
So this series checks all the boxes but some how totally forgets that's not good story telling.
its has all the potential in the world but trips over itself in a effort to push a silly agenda and this weird need to hit you over the head with it ever five minutes.
Her charter is surrounded by weak willed men to show us how strong she is and then also feels the need to remind she also female?!!
Ripley in aliens was both feminine and not someone you mess with but wasn't surround by weak male idiots.
You just knew what she was about and that she wouldn't take anyone's beep by the fact she was just as tough or tougher then her tough as nails crew mates.
In the end though none of this would matter if the story telling was good and the charters were relatable.
So far there next to none of that and someone forgot its always about the people.
This is something the other shows understand and something BSG got correct all the way through.
Now its early so there always hope but its not looking great at this point.
Capone (2020)
Haphazardly made and not a great movie
The truth is the films something of a mess but it can't dim hardy fascinating performance.
Underwater (2020)
Had potentional then got edited and cut to death
The actors are all good including Kristan and the idea is sound.
Visuals are plenty good and create a atmosphere.
Sadly there little to no charter development
Explanations of any kind get cut of almost immediately like the figured the audience was morons.
Tj character is the most heavily developed and i suspect this is mostly due to him.
Its very easy to see there was a rush to get this our and do as the backers demanded because it just plain get sloppy at points.
The scene where they are getting into the suits has the Jessica Henwick sitting on the ground being comforted by another character .
You can see she already removed her pants and gotten ready to get into the suits.
In the very next scene they are all getting into the suits and you can see here removing her pants which have magically put themselves back on.
Mistakes like that are throughout this film and show a rush job and people not being allowed to do their jobs.
Shame it had real potential
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Some complain its not star trek enough or to much this or that..nonsense
At its core this is still very much star trek and what Roddenberry envisioned . Some people expect this to always be perfect or the symbol of the future hope to always be perfect.
Truth is it never was that way and its always ugly messy and got loads of mistakes along the way.
After all we are only human.
Picard reminds us for all our mistakes and missteps that the hope and dream for what we can become is still very much alive and we can survive our mistakes and do better.
Just like real life were we lost our way and then forget Trump only a bump in the road that shall soon be gone.
I for one look forward to seeing what the future holds..likely with less orange colored morons lol.
Leaving Neverland (2019)
I watched it all and its not hard to tell these two are lying (Badly)
I dealt with enough victims of abuse to understand the non verbal cues that real abuse victims give off when they are talking about the abuse.
For instance the part in the commentary where they are talking about the mother going off to live try and live the high life with Michael Jackson and the father latter committing suicide.
The non verbal cues are all over the place her with the crying, the runny nose, the rapid fire devilry and sudden pauses when emotion is over whelming, the quivering of the chin ,the repeated swallowing and so on.
Some of this can be faked by a good actor but but no all of it because its just too much to keep track of all at once and other things are just not under conscious control.
Even wade in this part is expressing genuine emotion along with the part where he talks about his brother being anger at him but doesn't bother to explain why he anger at him .
To make matters worse there is the graphic detail which if you talk to actually abuse victims they don't want to go anywhere near and not without massive emotions and reactions showing.
Watching him talk about it is like watching someone read a soup can label..
Collative Learning does a great break down with examples of truly traumatized abuse victims and them so its very easy for even a person with no experience in this area to spot the massive differences.
Of course this is all backed up by the fact that they were caught lying by the judge repeatedly and when there actually evidence was demanded by the court it contradicted them on many levels and outright proved they were lying on others.

Star Trek Continues (2013)
Alfetta159 hit it on the nose
I was born the same year that this all started and meet most of the cast over the years outside of the fan experience.
The movies are great but this is the only one that made me close my eyes ans swear i was hearing the original.
The original spirit is certainly alive and well to a almost eerie degree.
A very good eerie and one that is most definitely needed in this day and age.
On a more personal note this scotty would make the past scotty a very proud father.
We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks (2013)
Interesting documentary
Iam all for protecting the people but there a point when things go to far and we gone way beyond that.
The NSA no just tracking terrorists its coping everything with out regard for warrants or what the rights of the people are.
They are spying on their own allies and lying to the public.
Then they go after the people for breaking the law by exposing them and totally disregard the fact they broke the laws in the first place.
There a old saying when the constitution was written up.
The people should not fear the government but the government should fear the people.
By their very actions they creating the governments that these terrorists fear so much.
These guys aren't all saints by any stretch by they have shown that we need to take back control and make the governments responsible to the people once again.
Manborg (2011)
Great for what it wanted to be
It doesn't try to be anything but what it is which is a high cheese fun movie to watch.
There no i am a serious actor doing Shakespeare moments where you can see the others actors wincing and thinking pay me so i can get away from this guy.
It was friends making a low budget movie that entertaining to watch.
Jeremy Gillespie had a surprisingly good sense of comedic timing as the love struck baron.
Think low budget, decent affects but not industrially lights and magic and people who enjoy what they are doing.
Seriously this is miles ahead of rob zombie's movies and had budgets and big name actors. Sorry Rob but to his credit he has gotten better.
Unthinkable (2010)
Quite a good does the end justify the means question.
Read the review highlighted under the movie by flapdoodle64 and was rather shocked naive he was. We live in a world where torture like this happens..this isn't make believe or fantasy but cold hard disturbing truth. Just look at CNN and see what some of us humans are capable of. Has it been used to gather info..thats a documented fact and maybe he should ask some former power from Vietnam.
Has the US done it..we may never know since there hardly going to document it if they did.
This isn't a candy coated world..this is one where we had Hitlers who would do unimaginable things.
In the end he missed the whole point of the movie. Which is do the ends justify the means.
Thankfully all of us if where lucky well never know that answer.
The reviewer should brush up on d-day too since the Germans knew it was coming but it was thanks to miss information that they didn't know where. They assumed that something so big was going to leak so they made sure it leaked the way they wanted it too. Lord knows there been enough documentaries about it.
House of 1000 Corpses (2003)
utter crap
cult classic my butt.
its easy to understand what robb was trying to do, but he's off the mark so badly i wasn't even funny.
he grabbed ideas from all the old cult classic horror films and tired to put them together, resulting in something that looked like a car wreck.
this film is mind numbing in how much it jumps all over and makes no sense at all.
i loved Texas chainsaw massacre which is a perfect example of a cult classic.
i think robb zombie is a talented person, this isn't one of his talents.
on the good side no one is ever going to give him money to do another this one did so bad and the hoped for cult sales never happened.
now that i have warned you if you go out and buy this don't blame me afterwards...lol
