Best slice of life series 2019, highly underrated
30 November 2019
I was looking for some web series on youtube and I can across this, it was about relationships so I dived into it.

Married Marathi guy hooked me to the show, Full of himself dude made me cringe(the part is well-enacted) , and the sardar made me love the show. Full credits to the entire team, especially the director, none of the acting seems acting it is just so real. For the first time, the teachers present actually seem like the one we have seen not the filmy kind.

Even the speech by Balu was so on point, it contained the nervousness and rawness of a student speaking on a stage, that must be hard to do.

The product placement was so so subtle, it just fit the storyline so seamlessly. This show is a masterpiece.Waiting for part 2

Lust Stories (2018)
7/10
Not for everyone
16 June 2018
All the stories are based on a certain issues, which if one is aware of or has experienced would make it an enjoyable movie. Apart from Karan Johar one, others were difficult to comprehend as in what is happening, why are they behaving in that manner. I guess the runtime for each story was very small to establish anything in detail. In order of liking,

1. Zoya Akhtar: It seems she has taken upon herself to show poor people stories after being accused of having made movies about the rich. She does a fantastic job and the potrayal, dialogues felt authentic. Bhumi Pednekar outshines everyone across all stories. She just has 2 dialogues and the entire story hinges on her. Exceptional performance in a completely deglamourised role. Speaking of the direction, I thoroughly enjoyed the match cuts and how the story was established.

2. Karan Johar, this one is the comedy and easy to understand, watch this for sure. I felt one could have made an entire movie on this, but this one is made for the one comedic climax it felt nevertheless the climax was funny.

3. Dibakar Banerjee, I didn't get this one, a conflicted middle-aged woman it seemed, but I was left with more questions, which is may be a good thing, I don't know.

4. Anurag Kashyap, a conflicted teacher figuring out about love. I kind of understood the message being wanting everything, but without any logic about if it is morally right or wrong. It is entirely about dilemma may be best suited for people who have gone through this patch. I got bored few minutes into this and was waiting for it get over.

An Affectionate Tale
21 April 2018
It is a sweet tale but very very nuanced. Watch out for the climax in the 5th episode, it is delightful. Good Production Design, Fantastic Cinematography, the chemistry between all the lead actors was simply phenomenal, literally everybody is acting in a scene, 4 people in one frame and everybody ws reacting for a particular action, there are many such moments which is very very real. Writing is bang on.

A Web-Series to watch when you feel low.

Zakir Khan: Haq Se Single (2017 TV Special)
10/10
Excellent
8 July 2017
The standup special begins with people cheering "Zakir,Zakir" and he doesn't disappoint. From the very beginning, he makes his audience comfortable and the whole crowd is just in control of Zakir. You are glued to him and every action he does reflects on you.

The standup tells the journey of Zakir Khan through his relationships and ending with break up. The final liner "Ishq kiya tha Haq se kiya tha, Single rahenge toh Haq Se rahenge" sums the stand up perfectly.

The standup begins with playful acts of childhood which he realises late in life. Then he talks about the insecurities and male ego issues in a relationship. The absurd things people do in a relationship. He pretty much sets up the mood for the main act which is gut wrenching. He uses the platform to make statements about issues in a relationship multiple times, especially the one where he mentions no matter happens in a relationship, you are the hero and it is futile to spend your life in misery for a failed relationship.

The audience is in sync with Zakir for the total 90 minutes. HATS OFF! Never have I ever seen this kind of crowd control. Zakir constantly brings references of his earlier special regarding how he manages the irrational behavior of girls.

All in all, the special was great fun and he provided a lot of unbiased insight in a relationship, it was like a research paper in relationship topped with humor.

Love Story Of Rich
27 January 2017
Watched it today on Amazon prime. I wanted to view this movie only to see Aishwarya Rai all beautiful and lovely. It was like those kind of movies which I just see for time pass and laugh off at the bad writing dialogues or just to see a pretty lady(Kind of it was in the Sunny Leone movie league for me). The dialogues were very very cringe, shots just too fast like a typical Bollywood movie but all lead to a good climax so 8. It is actually a great story only if it clicks you chances of which are less cause you need to be rich to get those feelings/emotions (Even i am not rich but somehow I felt rich may be behaving as such). As many have pointed out it is very shallow, True and it is the exact representation of the rich youth the dialogue is plain disgusting which I later realized is how the rich people talk. I mean you see Lisa Haydon behaving like a spoiled rich kid so she is in the extreme "Amer bap k bigot allot" type, the leads are" Amer bap ke but not bogged", they are superficial still cause they feel that moment was love. Make pretty bad jokes, do not have depth, avoid confrontation. I liked the pressure cooker bit in the climax, because it was not the typical masque love story it was a very urban take. Shah Rukh Khan was WOW in those moments he appeared, mostly he behaved as Shahrukh Khan yet even being himself is too good to look, cause he is so complex yet deep and very very convincing only i do not like his choice of films, he never risks it all so Aamir is still the best. See the there were no drag bits or yawn moments but some scenes in first half seemed fillers. Aishwarya is pretty much as much in film as you see in the trailer just one extra scene, and that scene was gold too. Itbwas so subtle and it appeared out of nowhere. But that ranbir-Aish love story was not very clear as what is happening was it just a time pass affair. Actually it was shown as a thing Ranbir did to make Anushka feel jealous but then that part was not explored maybe it was meant to be the way it was I mean just like han it is the second support and he was notbat all involved or in love with her and therefore he ran back. Well i did notbquite figure out that part may be it needs a second viewing to get that part.

Overall it is not for all movie, and I am surprises as to how it earned 100 Cr cause only the rich and the intellectuals might get it I compare it aside Zoya akhta's Dil Dhadakne Do, the rich issues s are being discussed, so coming back to how it earned 100 Cr, I guess I should open an discussion because it is difficult for people to connect with it and yet film did business

Disappointed
14 January 2017
After eagerly waiting and then watching the movie, I must say I am disappointed. Firat of all, take caution this movie is not for everyone, certain scenes may disturb you. Now coming to the movie, I went in expecting a dark film like 'Ugly' and it was based on a strong issue but the story line, screenplay and editing was too average to pull this off. The story is strong in parts but for the most part it is wayward and never completely addresses what it tries to tell. Character depth is what i missed the most and many things had to be inferred but those were never that straight nor they were addressed, it was open to interpretation and that somehow weakened the plot. I was most disappointed by the end, because after interval the end was quite clear and I so so wanted to be proved wrong but the same thong happened but with a worse context and it made me very upset.

Performances would be difficult to judge since there never was the depth but on a scene by scene basis, the performances were quite strong,. Nawqz Bhai was completely on character and never missed a beat. Shweta Tripathi too did a great job To conclude, As a debut directorial this is a commendable work

TVF Pitchers (2015–2022)
8/10
A Realistic One
1 September 2015
Pitchers shows the reality of start-ups in India. It portrays the start-up culture in India. It gives us an insight into the life of the people involved in a start-up. The best things in he series. Chemistry of Naveen and Shreya is too good. The writer Biswapati Sarkar deserves a mention here for his fabulous writing. Jitu who has always been my favorite again proves his mettle here. He delivered spectacular performance as a husband, as a son and the final episode clash with hostelers was really spectacular. After that scene I saw a smile on his face and I didn't think that was a part of the scene. Never mind. Yogi as a bully delivered good but his character was under-written. Mandal supposed to be a bother so that he could introduce comedy did not work for me. It was not subtle and I felt it was specifically introduced to bring some humor in the series. I had stopped watching TVF videos for quite some time, even I have not watched Permanent Roommates. I watched its first episode for some 10 minutes and it felt the same old jokes of TVF. The same occasional pauses, similar kind of puns. Actually the puns are the things which made me dislike TVF(the puns were the thing which hooked me to TVF). TVF repeated similar kind of puns in each of their content. Suddenly it became predictable. They converted facebook, whatsapp jokes to scenes. It was quite depressing but with TVF Pitchers they have showed they can perform better. Looking ahead to some better projects form TVF. If possible try inviting the AIB guys as well. I am really a big fan of AIB.

Ugly (2013)
9/10
A dark end to the year
25 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
There could have been no better title for the movie. Ugly is precisely the word which sums up the entire movie. Everything in the movie is dark and dangerous. You never know who is fighting for what but as the film advances you come to know of the true nature of all the people. All of their selfish intentions rather ugly, dark intentions. There is greed, corruption, revenge, violence, hate, lust, indifference and all the dark elements you could think of come as a package in this movie.

Nobody seems to care about the girl who is kidnapped, everyone in the movie is mean. Everybody is thinking about themselves. The movie is so well written that I hardly could think of anything to improve. Just I felt the performance of some actors were not up to that level. The direction and the screenplay were simply flawless.

The very fact that the search for the girl is carried out because she is the daughter of the senior inspector Bose pretty much makes it clear, that you should not expect anything good in the movie. i don't if that was deliberate but the scene where the police and rahul chat about phones seems like Rahul is not that bothered about losing her girl. This was a major incident but the manner in which RAhul is explaining the police does not seem too realistic. The inspector Bose is obsessed about taking revenge from RAhul and this very fact keeps him restricted to Rahul and he is unable to think of other ways to find out the girl. The climax is ultimate where the girl is found just behind=d the place where she was kidnapped. The lady police says that they could have saved Kali, that sends chills man. And then comes the Papa song, which was the only sweet thing in the ugly movie. Watch it if you love realistic cinema and are well aware of the dark side of people, because it would make sense that way other wise you may be bored.

A typical Hirani movie
21 December 2014
One thing I have come to know about Mr.Hirani after watching all his movies is that he is kind of a jovial person who takes matters very lightly and innocently. You would see the same thing being portrayed in all his movies and that is exactly how we Indians are. He relates to us and we relate to him.It is not easy to picturise a movie over a religious beliefs and god but he does this movie with so much ease that you never feel any abuse to any religion. He takes potshots over all the religious beliefs, that are too mainstream and shows the hilarity of that and these are those things you see in your day to day life as I said you could relate to those.

So basically I regard as a mass entertainer, I mean he makes movies for everyone , everyone can take something from his movies and all scenes are perfect direction wise. The climax was really tear jerking. There are minor flaws in the movie and the love thing is simply introduced to make it commercial and I being movie buff really hated this love theme inside this nice project. There were many cheesy scenes. The worst scene or for me was the kiss (Sorry), I mean you just let them kiss in between a song just for the sake of showing love and that scene is very bad. They hold hands and she does a spin and they kiss. It is like a 4 second sequence they shot for the sake of showing a kiss(Because youth!)

I mean this movie has romance, humor, out and out comedy, drama, emotional sequences, youthful sequences, chase sequences, even twists. and even more which I am unable to recall now. He has even amazing marketing skills man. So he has delivered and taking 4 years for this script is justified. This movie is again shows you the typical Indian scenario and it is for the Indian masses. And yes he has keyword or promotional word for every movie

Munna Bhai- 'Mamu' Lage Rahe - 'Gandhigiri' 3 idiots - 'all izz well' pk - 'wrong number'

So there is actually no point of writing a review for the movie because it is being directed by Mr. Raju Hirani, so definitely it is a must that he would not disappoint. So just go to the theaters to experience a refreshment.

Finally I liked the movie but I would like Mr.Hirani to direct some dark movie, because it would be sort of challenge for a person who seems completely optimistic at least fro the kind of movies he makes.

A gentle comedy
22 November 2014
It is simply humorous. I didn't feel the director was trying to make any point in the movie. I read reviews where they said that he was trying to show how indifferent the world can be even at death, but I never felt it that way. To me it came like Hitchcock wanted to do a movie on murder(considering this to be his favorite subject) but this time the murder should be some what different form his previous films. So may be he though that well the earlier movie were way too much serious lets make a light hearted movie but taking the subject as murder. And he pulled it of well too. I loved the cinematography, the visuals were really wonderful everything in the movie was as light as feather. It would just pull you out of you misery. It was such kind of a movie.

Regarding the other aspects of the movie I would not comment much because the movie was simply for enjoyment. Like you just watch and enjoy that movie. As someone in the review has said earlier expect nothing and you won't be disappointed.

Do not read the review just go and enjoy this MASTERPIECE
7 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Well we all know about Christopher Nolan so it would be just a waste of your time telling how wonderful the movie was.

a)Great Story b)Great Narratioin or the turn up of events c)Simple to follow d)Breathtaking Visuals e)Mesmerising Music f)Great Actors.. I can go on and on....

This movie is for audience. YOu have a little family drama, a suspense, trill, humor, SCI-FI, action, adventure.... I mean it is a whole package. I loved the scene where they land on the water planet and the waves come... Seriously what a shot that was. Just I did not like the end, I was expecting a more complicated sort of end like the inception, and that would have seriously added a magic touch to the film. It should not have been a happy ending as it happens.

Anyways just go and watch the movie, even if you do not understand anything the visuals are worth the money. It's a pity that where I watched the movie the room had just 15 members out of the 200 strength there, well they are just happy watching Indian flicks.

Killer's Kiss (1955)

A Stylish Movie
1 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This movie seems way ahead of its times just due to its cinematic pleasure. The protagonist narrates the story that had happened to him in the past few days and it seems like he is recalling all those events which make it very genuine. There is a boxing match, a fight between the lead lady and villain and then the hero takes on the charge trying to rescue the girl.

There is a good turn of events in these parts but all these have become so very clichéd that just does not interest you but on the better side you can view it as how those scenes were shot and then you could appreciate something. I particularly loved the roof top shot when the hero runs over the connected roofs and final clash between the hero and the villain, there was something to it. It was humorous as well as satisfying.

So this movie seems to be for those students studying film direction, and it is only this part the movie gives something and that too quality stuff considering the genre. Apart from that there is nothing in the movie, simple plot, some good cinematography, good direction but plot is too weak for you to like the movie.

The Pianist (2002)
7/10
Unable to portray the point of the movie
25 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The movie opens up with the German attack, then there is some kind of love or whatever scene between the lead and some random girl (who appears next towards the end). Then it shows some family drama. Again here there is no much insight given to the lead so it becomes to rack what is being shown and why it is being shown. I was lost for most of the time during the first half. The events occur very quickly and the tension is slack. You would not fell any kind of tension during the first half because it just shows some random events occurring to their family members and some children. It seems more like a cliché. Well apart from this, the most irritating thing for me was the relation of the lead and his brother. The brother was not happy with the pianist , OK I accepted that fact but how did this contribute to the story. I felt these all scenes were just added for the sake of inclusion of drama in the movie. But it did not go well with the plot.

The second half shows the struggle of the pianist which was again badly written. The screenplay was too slack. There were numerous scenes of fading to black and they were noticeable because it was just a 30 seconds scene and then it fades to black. That thing gave me a very disgust feeling.

But the film redeems itself in the last few minutes but still all those things were expected. Overall the events does not fuse itself well in the movie. It is based on a true event, I accept but surely does not deserve a place in the top 250.

Refreshing in terms of Bollywood
21 October 2014
This movie is a change in terms of the typical bollywood movie, but still lacks the content so as to be praised in the coveted manner.

The story is about a middle class man who tries to get back his plot which is illegally taken over by a construction company. I did nit quite like the point of using clichéd situations in the movie. Everything happens smoothly in the movie. I mean the tension was too less to be perceived. The tension did not develop enough to feel the chill. Then a happy ending, no man there should have been some over the top sequence. Many characters felt like what is their purpose. They start with some other work and end up with some other thing. Towards the end I could not even see the turban clad old man. Even I interpreted the first scene in a very wrong manner may be it was due to my excessive views of English movies. But still in terms of bollywood movies this movie was something not Te bogus type of Bollywood movies. The acting department everything was fabulous but the movie later turns to be melodramatic which I feel bad. It doesn't retain that sarcasm towards the end. Vinay Pathak was the best for me in the entire movie. He handled the comic parts and the serious parts very effectively. His transitions from just an agent to helping the family was completely believable and special mention to Ranvir Shorey who did Justice to his job of an unsecured jobless brother. Overall You must give this movie a watch because it is different and certainly deserves a watch.

I saw it coming
18 October 2014
This movie has a very nice, subtle plot. This kind of movies where a child is the lead actor is very tricky to do and I felt the director succeeded to pull this movie off but not up to its full potential. The innocent simplistic mind of a child was not given much importance. The movie could have been one notch higher if we had been put in the mind of the child, because it took me some time to get how would a child think under these conditions. I felt there were many loopholes in the plot. but anyway we are not supposed to look over these because the main thing in the movie is the innocence of a child and how the realization of the loss of child for a German soldier and devastating experience that the jews felt in those camps. The screenplay was very good in some parts and mediocre in the rest. It felt a little odd that the child does not ask his mother all this questions, I felt the tutor part a tad bit of a drag, I understood this was a crucial point of the film but was it that powerful so as to change the behavior of her sister ? The movie did not felt smooth if I had to clear. Well except all this facts the conversation between the two boys is really nice. This was the best part of the movie especially the Jew boy did an awesome job. That could emote his tension in the camp with the innocence of a child. Even his expressions were so subtle. This Jew boy was damn perfect throughout the movie. Well i may have rated it somewhat low, but believe me go watch this movie to experience the Nazi camps and its effect in poor souls.

A good story presented in a Bollywoodish manner
18 October 2014
The movie is a story about a Rajput who has Honor for him in the city but lacks wealth. He then goes for the resurrection of his position in the city. This movie was not as I expect it to be. There is no character development, the story movies in a linear fashion which sort of feels like a drag. But owing to its quirky dialogs and the love scenes, you wouldn't be bored. There is nothing much to say about the movie it does not give you enough which you could linger upon. The troubled relationship between the saheb and biwi is just apparent, nowhere would you feel the tension between the two except a kite scene but it is mediocre. It is just a random turn of events presented like a news report but infused with some good dialogs and romance. I missed this point completely, Deepika Shaw as the daughter of Kanhaiya does a good job in the limited time she gets on screen. I felt she is highly underrated in the Hindi film industry. All in all the actors have done a great job in this movie. Not the kind I would like but could be given a watch to for the actors in it.

Predictable will be precise
16 October 2014
A Hitchcock film with a predictable end. A movie about a spy who falls in love with the daughter of a traitor and then this girl is sent to a mission owing to the relations of her father with the criminals. Then there occurs a mental dilemma of choosing work upon love and all those choice oriented things. The stuff looks good but gets the outcome is not that good. It is a 90 min movie more about the making the right choice and less of suspense which was a serious letdown because I always watch a Hitchcock movie to get some awesome entertainment.

The only part of the movie I liked was Ingrid Bergman. She was lovely and adorable. Even she gave full justice to her character. She portrayed the sorrowful daughter, the romantic lover and the person who would do anything for the love of her life, the insecure lady etc. There is more i want to say about her but Pardon me for the lack of my vocabulary.

I just fell in love with her from the very first scene of her with the wine. She was too damn perfect. An really she made the movie worth watching for me. But apart from this there is nothing at all interesting in the movie. Some stupid plot which is not even shown properly and the love between the two leads is just simply shown as if they fell in love straight away. There are many loop hole s in the movie. I do not want to say more about he plot because it would make the movie even less interesting. The direction was good, of Hitchcockian standard, the love scenes were really lovely. The emotions of the two leads was felt. Both leads did a good work. But it was Ingrid who stood apart. Simply exceptional work from her. The picturization is good. Overall the movie is not that bad but still for me it would be of a lower scale but you could surely give it a go.

If you want give a shock to yourself this is highly recommended
11 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
There is no better word other than disturbing which can summarize this movie. The movie is not a masterpiece, it may be because I watched the subbed version of the Korean movie but really the film seems to be unintentionally disturbing at times. The climax takes the cherry. The screenplay makes the movie what it is but I found a lot of glitches in the movie.. The movie is surely not well directed because it feels absurd when the person is searching for the truth and I am unable to decipher what is happening. New characters are introduced without giving clear introduction to them. There is a fight sequence where the lead actor has a fight with some 10-12 odd guys.. That is the worst scene, I mean it was so out of the movie, it felt like he wanted to show us a fight and just dragged that part. Music is not up to the mark, and in the music which is played when the movie opens is pathetic, it does not even go with what is happening. The person(Oh-Dae-Su) is tortured to ultimate level which is the best thing in the movie and is very disturbing but the story telling was good but it missed severely in direction department. Many scenes were over directed.

So there it is as a whole you would find the movie very disturbing but worth the movie for a one time view.

Do not keep high expectations from this one
5 October 2014
The only good thing about the movie was its style. It is unique. The second thing was Al Pacino, I mean he just holds everything still while he speaks. REally commendable performance. The opening scene was fantastic"I believe in America" perfectly lit shot. After that everything is a drag. I get bored by the end of the movie. It has elongated scenes , I mean these so elongated that you can take a nap without missing anything. It was more like a opera kind of movie. So the opera lovers may like this movie but for me it was boring. Go watch it if you kind of love family drama said in a kind of some song and well love to nourish the scenes

A deeply satisfactory movie
5 October 2014
This movie is full on. It has everything love, humor, obsession, disgust, drama and what not. It is very rare to find such a movie which highlights all its topics so precisely and all the lead actors have acted superbly. All these characters have become immortal for me.

To take up such a controversial book and make a movie editing the sensitive issues without diluting the effect and give a complete satisfaction.. Hats off. Amazing Screenplay and exceptional direction. This movie is simply on another level. You can literally connect with Mr.Humbert and feel his obsession and conservativeness about Lolita. This movie just leaves the end inconclusive to some aspect, like I personally felt what about the playwright, why did he go after Lolita and all?. Kepping all this aside this movie is a absolute delight to watch

A good attempt
3 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
When you take up a Shakespeare story it is bound to have some serious stuff , so does this movie. The movie portrays the kashmir conflict in a very nice manner. You could really feel the tension that the people suffer at the border. The cinematography is quite good. The story line is just awesome and the Tabu and Shahid give top notch performances but still Tabu has a tougher role to play so considering that she was the best among the lot. Kay Kay Menon does not perform upto his standard, but still he is good. Now coming to the bad points which I found a lot but it could be compromised. Basically the initial portions are too melodramatic. The plot advances slowly even without giving proper insight. Those could have been enhanced. Shraddha Kapoor was a serious let down. She would destroy a serious scene with her funny accent. The love song was completely unnecessary that could have been replaced with something more meaningful. The second half was more powerful. With the film changing its tome to more of aggressive nature. The Bismil song was well suited to the scene. I had goosebumps during that song. Sukhwinder Singh hats off for that song. Tabu was simply awesome in the second half. And the end was simply marvelous. As a whole I would ask the people out there to check this movie out because you rarely such heart touching and self examining movies.

A wonderful movie
1 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Mixing war and comedy is very great thing in itself. I came to know the depth of the movie later after watching it that it was just a mockery of the whole war and its personnel's. From the beginning of the movie the tone is set for a comical ride.It delivers that. I mean the movie is simply wonderful because it shows the futility of the war and the insane people responsible for it. It is simply hilarious with the funny names of the character and even they seem like clowns.Dr. Strangelove appears in only the last The war details are presented in a proper minutes and gives the movie a perfect finish. manner not in any random manner/Really it is a masterpiece in itself.

Worst David Lynch Movie
1 October 2014
20 minutes into the movie, I was expecting Something unusual is going to happen in this movie. It must be that perfect movie which will just make me happy.. but after that moment the film dropped like anything .. it became a comedy that too unintentional. I do not know I felt that way that they were trying too hard to make something weird so that it entertains you but it actually felt weird in the wrong manner and it became difficult to bear the movie. Everything in the movie was pointless and the last scene, could not he think of some other thing. I mean why that ? On a serious note, the only thing which was great was the cinematography, Laura Dern was looking awesome

A movie of International Standards

Yes, this movie stands tall in all its forms. The movie is a must watch because you rarely find this kind of perfection in an Indian movie. Strong storyline, top class direction, superb acting by all the leads and the subordinates as well and my most preferred and the mainly missing component of an Indian movie is its Excellent soundtrack. Amit Trivedi take a bow. I wanted to watch such a movie and never expected to be of this standards even after reading the reviews as you know the Indian critics exaggerate everything. Bu t man this is a class in itself. Keeping minor flaws aside this movie was Perfect. We need such movies in India and with Anurag Kashyap there it seems possible.

Pointless Movie, Excellent humor, Superb Thrill

You see even I hated Quentin Tarantino for the lack of plot. But he does not make serious, thoughtful or intellectual movies but humorous movies (if you get those) in an excellent manner. He knows how to tell a story so that a person who watches it must enjoy himself. The opening scene is such a tense one that you would get what to expect later and even very tense situations come later but he fuses them with humor so subtly that you get a real kick at that time. He is the best story teller in Hollywood. No one makes a screenplay like him where nobody watching the movie is disappointed. I have seen all his movies none of them bored me. Yes they maybe similar but they are unique in terms of their content and all his dialogs are iconic. Lastly if you do not like Tarantino then you would never like him unless you change your perception regarding him.
