Extraña forma de vida (2023)
Not enough gay
I remember watching the trailers for "A Strange Way of Life" months ago and very much anticipating this movie. I tracked the release through Spain and other countries before it came around to the United States.
Though the movie is a short film, it was very interesting to watch, however not enough gay scenes to even portray being gay in the old west. I may watch it again, however my expectations have been lowered at this point.
My recommendation? Definitely watch it as it is a good movie! I'm even thinking of watching it again - which shows how good the movie stands on its own. For those who are sensitive to gay drama and themes, you have nothing to worry about with this movie. Gay is insinuated, but not completely played-out.
All in the Family: Edith's Accident (1971)
My Favorite Episode
Hmmmm Hmmmm Hmmmm....in Heavy Syrup! Something that only Jean Stapleton can deliver when paired up with Carol O'Connor in All In The Family. We started re-watching All In The Family after probably 30 years since it was broadcast. But I remember the Cling Peaches in Heavy Syrup episode! OMG! I was so looking forward to re-watching it!

All of Us Strangers (2023)
Another Sad Gay Love Story
Really enjoyed watching this film. It has a lot of great and therapeutic moments, and in fact even healing. As a gay person, I find it another sad story that I will regret watching ever again. There are way too many gay films and stories with no happy ending - even though this movie attempts to tie everything into a tidy, neat bow.
It could have had a happy ending just as easily as a sad one. The movie draws the viewer in and will over the years draw the viewer to watch it again and again. Hopeless to watch such a film repeatedly and wish for different results. Something that all human beings look for in a film that includes people like them. Very human and normalizing, yet sad. Maybe society as a whole will sympathize with the main characters and be able to forgive such that it exists in the first place? Come on! There can be something more positive. We can do better. Much better.
The Omen (2006)
Look to the original
I have to admit that I got bored early-on watching this movie and could not watch past thirty minutes of it.
Scene for scene. Line for line. It is an exact copy of the original - only cast in more modern times.
It's been years since I have watched the original Omen movie as well as the sequels. It is a very good series. I see no reason to re-make a movie if you are going to do it exactly like this. Maybe for a more modern audience? I am of the generation that was young when the original came out and it really terrified me.
The Omen was very disturbing. I really enjoyed all of the series. Of all the horror movies, I would place the original version of "The Exorcist" higher.
If you have never seen the original, you will like this movie as it will be new to you. However, there is not a remake of The Omen II and III. If you have never seen the original, then definitely give it a watch. It is a good story. I just could not watch an almost exact remake.
Welcome Home (2018)
A Vacation to Remember
Welcome Home is one of those suspenseful " take a vacation and work out your relationship issues" kind of movie.
Set in a very romantic Italian countryside. In fact it is so beautiful there that anything could happen. It would be intensely intriguing and beautiful to watch.
The interactions between the cast are really kind of amazing. The plot draws the audience in. I really was interested in finding out how everything would play out.
Watch this movie. It's worth it. I really enjoy the scenery, the storyline, suspense and the plot. I liked not knowing what was going to happen next.
After "Breaking Bad", I have become a real Aaron Paul fan. The chemistry between Aaron and his fiancé are good. All the characters have great interaction.
A vacation is an escape. This movie is a good escape.
Easy Rider (1969)
Not for the faint-hearted. Worth watching
Easy Rider is one of those movies that will really hook into your soul and get to you ... one way or another!
A movie that has some of the greatest music in the sound track! This movie is an absolute goldmine in music alone.
I would watch it for actors and soundtrack.
I want you to find your own way and have your own interpretation of the film. Many movie greats in this movie. Jack Nicholson and Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper. Only movie since Easy Rider with that great of a cast was Reservoir Dogs.
Not a film for the faint-hearted.
You will never regret watching this movie! Buy the soundtrack, it's fantastic!
The Pope's Exorcist (2023)
The Pope's Exorcist
The title of this movie contains the word "The" and the word "Exorcist".
Do not confuse them with the original.
I really like Russell Crowe as an actor and have been following his career. I did not really care much for this movie. Your experience may vary. I wish I had better things to say and do not intend to post any spoilers.
Maybe my negative opinion will make you like the movie more as you may not have high expectations?
I apologize for my low rating. I do want to watch it again sometime. The original The Exorcist movie was directed by William Friedken and to me is one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. Originally saw it at a drive-inn when I was about 12 years old. That movie horrified me.
I recommend this movie for a watch and certainly recommend watching it to see what it is about.
The Conjuring 2 (2016)
My favorite of the Conjuring series
It doesn't happen often and most likely the second is not as good as the first. This however is an exception. It is better than the first in the Conjuring series in my opinion.
I only have one complaint. And that is that this movie (unlike all the rest) is not available in the 4K format! What a crime!
Lots of atmosphere. I love the time that it was set in. Have watched it many many times as it is very re-watchable. In my opinion, very few movies compare to it in terms of re-watchability. We usually watch this movie at least once per year.
I like the third in the Conjuring series as well. The more I watch it, the more I like it. The second is still my favorite though.
Hope you will like it as much! Enjoy!
The Last of Us (2023)
A great portrayal - good story
I'm no spring chicken. I've lived life. Understand the positive and the negative reviews as well.
For all of the negative reviewers all I have to say is this: it's just life.
I don't expect to turn any negative feelings. I do not want you to even try to understand.
I on the other hand, LOVED this series! It did remind me of other shows/movies with similar story lines. So many dooms-day/zombie shows and movies out there since "Night of the Living Dead". This one is unique. A very high-caliber cast. Very well-acted. Beautiful scenery, cinematography, and really good audio. Really held my interest.
Time spent watching seemed to fly by.
As for gay relationship, it was fantastic! I really liked it. There are so few positive gay movies out there. This one is in between.
Hope you enjoy it.
The School for Good and Evil (2022)
One person's flight...
...is another person's fantasy.
It was not my fantasy, however the story was very interesting.
It reminds me of a modern spin on "The Princess Bride", however it doesn't come close.
Though it misses being on an equal tier, SOGAE has its own tier and can stand on its own.
Fans be fans! Celebrate and love your movie!
For me the journey continues. ✌🏻
I will continue watching scary stuff but you know...we all need a good princess story now & then.
This story hit the spot in the human heart that only a good princess story could occupy.
Great special effects too! Really enjoyed watching it as the movie has a lot of visual eye candy.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
Really well-made addition to the Conjuring universe
I really loved Conjuring 3! Have watched it several times now. To me that definitely means that I love love watching this movie!
It's not my favorite of the Conjuring universe as Conjuring 2 is my favorite. But Conjuring 2 is only HD and is not made in 4K like the rest of them! That's very sad!
Conjuring 3 can stand on it's own in the Conjuring universe as it is well-made, re-watchable and a great tale of a witch/sorcerer. Perfect for the Halloween season if you ask me! 🎃
There are so few goos movies about witches. I really love this one! VVitches is another good witch movie, but I recommend subtitles for that one!
House of 1000 Corpses (2003)
Legends of Horror
Love this as it is my favorite of all of the Rob Zombie series!
It includes horror legend Karen Black and the guy who plays Grandpa is out-of-this-world!!!
Movie scared us at first and has one of the most creative color schemes of any movie I've seen in a long time.
The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)
Good movie...deserves a better rating
The Classic version of this movie remains a classic. Untouched. Enjoyed the movie as a single work. Needs more Theremin!
Cathy Bates makes a great modern-day Aunt Bee! Loved the movie! You will too!
The Boys in the Band (2020)
Not quite the punch of the original
Love this movie! I find it to be a very honorable tribute to the original. Only thing is that it does not have quite the emotional punch of the original. I believe this is because the original actors lived it. Lived through the 70's. That makes all the difference and is why the original gets higher ratings for me.
Also, the original is directed by William Friedkin - the same director of The Exorcist - which is one of my all time favorite horror movies.
The original is also more re-watchable and will always be a treasured movie. I have watched the original many many times and practically have the entire dialog memorized.
Real Time with Bill Maher (2003)
Great discussion, commentary, and humor
One of the greatest intelligent talk shows of our time.
The Craft: Legacy (2020)
I'm gonna cry, you're gonna cry....we're ALL gonna cry!
How could they take such a good movie and make it suck so bad? Lots of holes in the plot. Could have probably been twice as long to fill in the gaps. It would have made a more enriching film experience.
Watchmen (2019)
20 out of ten stars
No less will do. This is without question the best TV show I've ever seen
Help Me I'm Dying (2019)
One of the best stand-ups I have seen in years!
I really loved this! Eddie Izzard greatness level! I can watch this repeatedly, and that's something that I can't say for many movies and comedies that I have watched. A real keeper!
The Boys in the Band (1970)
Always one of my All-time Favorites
Boys in the band really hits the mark...even today in our modern 'civilized' times.
I would classify it as a 'must watch' movie for everyone to see.
It gets to the heart of humanity and how much we still must come yet to understanding each other.
The drama and acting is incredible and intense. We have yet to come up with anything that even comes close to this and believe me I've seen lots of movies!
I wish my best friend had seen this...before he dumped me for being gay.
