Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)
Surprisingly decent!
Yes, this is visceral and action-packed. This has solid performances from a Puerto Rican actor and a black actress. Good family flick. Great soundtrack. Yes, it has cliched moments (of course it does! It's an action flick with alien robot cars!). What's really nice about this is it's not 3 hours long and it has a surprising premise as well as unexpected fun. I recommend this movie but not if you're too busy congratulating yourself on what an amazing intellectual you are. My wife, 13 & 14 year old girls loved it. It's fun. Try it. Be in the moment and "be present" hopefully with family or friends alongside you for a fun ride.
Band of the Hand (1986)
1986!
Every 13 yo I knew loved this movie (like yours truly!)
Is it cheesy? Totally. Is it 80's music cheesy? Definitely. It is STILL an amazing movie. As a young latchkey kid with HBO (like one movie per month!) it was epic.
Don't go in to this movie and expect any insights into the human psyche. That ain't happening.
Go in for laughs; be a kid again; with boundless dreams and a great imagination.
It's appropriately inappropriate. Rated PG by todays standards. The kids today have access to all things.
Some good; most bad.
I recommend this movie; with the above stated expectations.
ENJOY!
~Your humble viewer.
Project Power (2020)
This was decent! Give it a shot.
No, this will not improve your intellect. This will entertain you if you don't think about it too much. Just try and enjoy the show.
Treadstone (2019)
Wow USA got one right!
This show is excellent. Pacing, acting, dialogue: spot on. I can only hope that it continues to mature and not nose-dive.
@ USA: please keep the writers from S01, do not try to be humorous or cheesy.
Condor (2018)
Amazing
Whatever the reviews say, you owe it to yourself to watch an intelligent, well-paced, well-plotted espionage film like this. I say film, because we are very lucky to get 400 minutes of deftly crafted story. I can't say more. Bravo (AT&T of all mediums)!
Tomb Raider (2018)
Great film
My goodness. When did it become so hard for people to just enjoy a good time? Great acting from a young star. Great effects. Great villain(s).
Go watch a Roger Moore version of James Bond (which I grew up loving - and still do!) and tell me this doesn't have good elements. Yes green screen this and green screen that - guess what... get over it! Anyway, she plays a solid rookie Lara... haters be hatin... so many reviewers are just trolls - it's amazing. If you want solid action, decent plotting, not too deep, it's a well done movie.
Sincerely,
This Guy
