Stranded (2023)
Agonizing
This was unquestionably the most painful movie experience of my 4 decade life. I try to give smaller budget movies a chance, because you can find some hidden gems there. And who doesn't enjoy a nice creature feature?
But this was complete trash. Every single character was absolutely annoying. If there is any credit I give to the script is that the writers found different ways for each character to be obnoxious. Most annoying fictional character in the history of film goes to Donnie. His screaming wife was terrible. The not so photogenic and bitchy sister terrible. Big brother with abysmal haircut, terrible.
I would have rather spent the same amount of time waiting in a DMV or doctors office than watch this drivel again. Peeyoo.
The Windigo (2024)
Someone owes me $5.99
Where in the world did these pleasant reviews of this rubbish come from?! I rely heavily on IMDB reviews to assist in checking obscure films out before take the plunge-especially movies I have to rent. The glowing reviews of this made it a no brainer.
This is one of the worst piles of trash I've ever seen. I couldn't even finish this drivel. The acting is cartoonish. The writing is abysmal. The only pass from me is maybe everyone involved with this was the backup to the backup writers while Hollywood was on strike.
This is money and time I will never get back. This movie was so bad I turned it off and immediately went to bed.
Blue Beetle (2023)
Are we sure this was directed by someone of Hispanic ethnicity?
I can not recall ever seeing a film with a predominant cast of an ethic origin, with a script that is inclusive of said ethnic origin, with a director (who is supposedly of the same ethnicity) completely make a mockery out everyone.
This was awful on all levels. I stopped watching after about 35 minutes in. I'm not even Mexican and I was extremely offended and embarrassed by the stereotypes portrayed here. Let me get this straight Warner Bros-you dopes ran away Zack Snyder and pretty much everyone else involved with his vision of the DCEU that had a more mature tone but you guys were gitty over this nonsense???!!!
Good god...
Ambulance (2022)
Lol
The other reviewers are correct. This movie is absolutely abysmal. This script had to have been written while someone was sitting on a toilet. This movie made no sense whatsoever. How Jake or Yahyah were involved with this tripe is beyond me. Michael Bay, please stop making movies.
Titans (2018)
Season 3 ruins it
Beast Boy has to remove his clothes before transformation. Tim Drake is annoying asf. He should have stayed dead. Jason Todd is a Benedict Arnold who spends his two seasons either whining or stabbing Bruce in the back.
Raven and Starfire spend all their time looking dumbfounded they have superpowers. Dick Grayson is literally the worst leader, yet his spends the entire three seasons talking about how terrible Bruce Wayne's leadership was.
Superboy is more than capable of handling the threats we see in season 3 yet Dick chooses not to use him. The first two seasons were pretty good entertainment. Season 3 is some of the worst television I have ever seen.
It Came from Below (2021)
I must have watched the wrong movie
Stopped watching 30 mins in. Awful is not even a strong enough adjective. Prime will add anything to their catalog...
There's some films that are so bad I wonder how they were even made. Someone had to have the idea. Then somebody had to give it a green light and actually finance this crap. And finally there was a crew involved. My goodness. I have it a shot because of the half decent score by that was a mistake. I could have taken a 30 minute nap and had a dream more eventful than this mess.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
Not that bad
From the reviews it made it seem like this was the worst movie of all time. I have been a fan of Resident Evil franchise since it's inception in 1995. This is the best live action attempt in my opinion. Way better than the films by Andersen. This one at least has some nice set features from the first two games and a couple scenes that bring nostalgia.
I enjoyed the gore and the cgi although obvious at some scenes-others it was done pretty well. Nice creepy soundtrack. My biggest complaint is the portrayal of my beloved Leon Kennedy. He was a complete buffoon and dumbass. With that being said he is technically a rookie police officer but a complete opposite of how he is in the games. A lot of reviewers hated the casting choice. I didn't mind. It's a different take on the character and I would love to see how this actor develops if there's a sequel which I doubt there will be.
Making Jill Valentine a woman of color was a strange but pleasant surprise. Overall the acting was B movieish at best, but I did not expect Shakespearean dialogue.
Good: great gore, familiar set pieces, familiar characters, somewhat true to source material
Bad: rushed script, doofus Leon.
Intrusion (2021)
How many dumb decisions can a person make?
After sitting through this garbage plenty apparently. This is a god awful "thriller" that was like a lifetime movie only worse.
Run All Night (2015)
Old man badass strikes again.
Liam Neeson has quietly become one of the most bankable actors in the action genre in modern cinema history.
It is uncanny considering this string of the brooding, grizzled, old guy badass role did not start for him until his 60s! This film is no different. In 'Run All Night' we see the story of a retired hit man Jimmy "The Gravedigger" Colon and his estranged son Michael Colon trying to survive the night after someone witnesses a murder.
If you are a fan of Liam's previous works like A Walk Among the Tombstones, Taken, or Non-Stop, then you will enjoy this one as well. If you do not enjoy those films, then do not watch this and expect anything different. These movies are not Shakespeare.
All in all I very much enjoyed this. It was not a let down and was everything I expected from a Liam Neeson action movie... old man badassery!
