Blue Lights: Where I Want to Be (2024)
Ridiculous plot twist
I really enjoyed the first series of this program and was enjoying this. The acting is very good, with well draw characters. The relationships on the whole work well. The introduction of new characters was good. Even if they're not likeable. I do feel the police force seems to be a little bit female heavy. Not a criticism, just an observation.
My problem with this episode was in the final scenes where the child having been left on his own in the flat manages to work out a six figure combination to the safe. Almost impossible. Then gets a gun from said safe and shoots out the back window of a moving vehicle. I found this stretched credibility a bit too far.
FBI: International: Fire Starter (2024)
Absolutely Ridiculous
I'm so tired of these shows showing totally unrealistic scenarios. We all know it's drama and the powers that be demand some action. But really. Why would an experienced FBI agent/police officer shout out to a suspect when they are 20 metre plus away. Thus giving the suspect ample time to flee?
This episode took the prize for that. A suspect in a nightclub, has no idea he's under surveillance. FBI decide to move in. Now it would've been very easy to walk up to the suspect and arrest him...... Oh no Raines, (Carter Redwood. Possible the worst actor in all the Dick Wolf franchises) charges across the nightclub causing a disturbance. Thus alerting the suspect to leg it..... Who writes this drivel?
FBI: All the Rage (2024)
Getting Worse
I always have high hopes for this show and it constantly lets me down. These agents are supposed to be highly trained specialists. They run around like headless chickens.
They go to an address to apprehend a bombing suspect, enter the premises without securing all the exits. Allowing the suspect to escape.
A bomb expert trying to defuse a bomb with FBI agents looking over his shoulder, countless police officers less than 10 feet away and the general public watching from across the street. Even though they said the area needed to be cleared
Also, why do they always kill their suspects. Can't they shoot them in the legs to disable them? If they're such good marksmen that they always manage a kill shot, surely they could bring a suspect down without killing them.
As usual rogue agent OA taking the moral high ground because a suspect was described as Middle Easter looking. OA forever taking things into his own hands and disobeying direct orders, would've beer fired by now.
And of course the shouting at a suspect when he's across the street. Giving him ample time to escape.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: All Pain Is One Malady (2023)
Won't be watching
As a huge fan of SVU I don't mind the cross over episodes. Especially with the Chicago franchise. However I really don't like the Organised Crime show. I loved Stabler when he was in SVU. But he left. Why keep bringing him back?
It feels like the powers that be are using SVU to prop up OC.
Far too many times have there been crossover episodes. As I don't watch OC I miss out on continuing plot lines.
I feel cheated out of the last episode of this season, as its a 4 episode crossover. So I don't get to say goodbye to beloved characters for another season.
If the do have to keep inserting OC storylines into SVU. Please do it mid season. That way those non OC watchers don't miss out on the finale of our favourite show.
FBI: International: Hail Mary (2022)
Milan?
I really like this show. I think it is the best of the FBI franchise. Great stories and scripts. Good performances by the actors.
My only major quibble is the locations. It is obviously filmed in Eastern Europe. So when it is meant to be in Italy, Holland, England. Not only are the outside locations glaringly wrong. So are the interiors. The layout of the buildings and the internal features are just so wrong. As someone who has been to most European countries and is a fan of architecture and interior design. It's a huge bug bear.
I realise they can't move the production all over Europe. But surely there must be something they can do other than sticking a red telephone box and a black taxi in the street to pass for London, when you'd never find those buildings west of Poland.
I'm sure most of the American audience is fooled, but most Europeans spot these things immediately.
FBI: Hero's Journey (2022)
Longest 27 seconds
Completely ridiculous. I understand artistic licence but this was just plain stupid. I actually timed from when OA was in the car with the bomb showing 27 seconds. To the bombs explosion. In real time it was 41 seconds. Not to mention how OA managed to get from the basement to the car in less than a minute.
For me the character of OA spoils the show, I like a maverick. But this guy disobeys orders and gets things wrong frequently. He's biased and judgmental. I can't see how he would've passed a psych evaluation to get the job in the first place. He completely disregarded orders to evacuate. Refused to listen to the bomb expert who said the bomb may have a motion sensor which would blow them all sky high. No, OA picks the bag up so he can play the hero. I'm sure he would be dismissed in reality, or even in a tv show that had any kind of pretence to realism. This show has lost all its credibility for me.
Animal Kingdom: Pressure and Time (2022)
Too many flashbacks
Far too many boring flashbacks that don't do anything to enhance the story. They should've done the back story in one or two full episodes.
Not sure if I'm happy with the character development over time. Craig who was my favourite character initially has become a selfish irresponsible bore. Derran has become mean and spiteful. J is basically the same. And I'm glad that Pope has emerged from his stupor.
This season is better than last season, but the loss of Ellen Barkin really hurt the show. Does anyone believe these four squabbling idiots could really pull off the jobs they do AND hold onto the business?
FBI: International (2021)
O A, what a ridiculous character
Always thought that O A was a poor fit in the FBI franchise. After watching this 3 part crossover I can't believe the character anymore.
Would FBI officers work with someone who is clearly unstable? His character is totally unbelievable and his acting is atrocious. I just wonder if he is ticking a woke box. If this franchise is to continue, I suggest they get rid of his character. Spoils the whole thing for me.
Otherwise a fairly solid story. I enjoyed the new addition to the Dick Wolf stable.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: I Thought You Were on My Side (2021)
Enough with Christopher Meloni.
Meloni left SVU for whatever reason. The show went from strength to strength without him. I'm really annoyed that the writers keep hijacking SVU with Organised Crime stories.
I watched the first few episodes of Organised Crime and got bored with it. So it's intensely frustrating that it keeps popping up in SVU.
Please give the guys their show back and let them concentrate on victim crime. Which is what they do best.
