America: The Motion Picture (2021)
America! NOT.
A campy, tongue in cheek, bizarre twisting of American history.
The sad thing is that I was quickly drawn to the idea that this will be what they will be teaching in school in 50 years.
Space Trucker Bruce (2014)
Clever and campy
I've been a fan of low budget 'Troma-style' films for years, and this flick falls into that category. A throw-back to 1950s, low-budget schlock, I was pleasantly surprised by this little fare.
I found much of the direction and script to be rather clever. I mean, who knew hog fat could have so many uses? And the homage to the 1970s trucker movies, shows, and craze was fun.
Seriously, if you're looking for slick production, great CGI, and high budget Hollywood, go watch Star Wars. But, if you just want fun, campy, and a bit odd, 'Space Trucker Bruce' is good fun.
Hartom (2017)
Delightful
Having known the film's subject for seven years, I was delighted at the effort to document an extraordinary life of a humble man who has overcome so much. While limited in scope, it is both serious and fun, and I learned some things about Father Andrew Thompson, MBE, that I didn't know before.
Andy's story deserves a feature-length look. He has a unique and intriguing story that truly deserves to be told.
Hawaii Five-0: Ua Malo'o Ka Wai (2017)
Useless opening
The opening has a couple on a sailboat in major distress being 'rescued' by a ghost ship with 5 dead crew aboard. We NEVER find out what happened to anyone aboard. What was the point?
