Elsbeth (2024)
Loving it!!
I am really loving this series
I first came across Elsbeth in the Good Fight and thought wow what a quirky character, was even happier when they branched out a spin off about her!
Carrie Preston is a wonderful actress and really carries this character off with charm, humour (some annoyance) but overall a wonderful person.
In case anyone reads this and is unaware she is married to Micheal Emerson (person of interest, fallout) who also plays quirky characters
I'm liking the different episodes and pleased it's not always murder but other areas of justice.
Very happy it has been renewed for a second season.
Madam Secretary: Thin Ice (2018)
Settle Jason
Unlike all the other reviews about the political stuff I just felt it's about time Insaid if Jason was my kid he would get a clip over his ear for his obnoxious entitled attitude with no respect and borderline narcissistism
He is truly the worse character of the whole family
Alison can be a border of self entitlement too and some of her stories have been a bit boo hoo as with Stephanie. I do like that they bring some stories in about extended family members and that they are very big income earners but jeez this episode nearly had me throwing things at the TV for Jason's whole blah blah. Call me a whinge........
FBI: Consequences (2024)
Great Comedy
As others have written......where do I start?!
Yep Jubal would have been taken off this assignment for conflict of interest with the relationship
Oh but hey he wasn't so let's get him to go and see if he can talk to the kid but nope not home so let's have a catch up with Daddy
Daddy gets all defensive once the kid is outed and the drugs are found Jubal wont destroy drugs so he then turns on Jubal 🙄
Dad picks up kid then says he ran out of car to the bridge but dad remains in the car when FBI approached the car....huh? You just let your kid run off without going after him?
Blah blah the scenes go on now in the last hostage scene
Heavily guarded by SWAT & FBI but oh look daddy can come running in to take him as hostage (his experience would be that he is worthless to them)
His actions gets the kid shot that then allows perp to wrestle with J that seems strange as, again, SWAT everywhere that would have taken him down but nope gotta get that "gun went off (who died)" scene before anybody bothers to "save Jubal" pan over to crying father.....
WORST EPISODE EVER.
Sons of Anarchy: One One Six (2013)
What is going on?
So they finally got rid of the weirdo Potter (although returns in Maylens MC sadly) and to replace that they have bought in another complete looney in the shape of an EX Marshall......seriously are there no by the book decent police in America??
I have quite a few more episodes till Clay finally gets his and sadly Inhave to wait a while for his bi&$h to finally get her just deserts.
I will watch it to the end as I gotta see how it all comes out and being a late viewer I did cheat and read the synopsis way ahead of each episode cause I was losing it not having clay and Gemma gone!
All the good ones went and will go early.
FBI: Best Laid Plans (2024)
Now we're talking!!!!!
Ok this is a great episode!!!! Not much on the back stories so that's a plus and was short and sweet with Scola and Nina allowing it only to exist in the last words. THANK YOU for not banging on about the Tiff story as that is getting on my nerves & not a fan of boo hoo poor Tiff storyline.
I have to say it's been a while that I have had the adrenaline rising watching an episode as the writers seem to finally got it right how it REALLY happens and gets laid out.
It's definitely one I would watch over and not pick any "yeah, as if's" and even continuity was spot on!
Let's hope this continues with the following episodes.
FBI: Phantom (2024)
Enough Tiffany!
Please put Tiffany on desk duties!! What she did is totally disciplinary actions!!!
I found the storyline good, I understand that scola and tiff need more camera time but why do it this way?! Yes grieve about your friend but what Hobbs wife said in the end is perfect GO AWAY and let me move on.
She is supposed to be a mature adult but her difiant ways were so drama cliche and became really annoying
Oh ok saved by the "news at hand" hakim IS in NY but seriously the way she went about it was laughable along with are you serious outcries
Because of her there was an innocent bystander bought into the mix, thank god the writers didn't kill her off!
I love scola.
Ricky Stanicky (2024)
Impressed
I'm rating higher as it's filmed in Victoria Australia with some great Aussie greats and that they are joined by some American greats. I'm glad that Australia can show that we have some good talents here and glad that Americans are happy to come "down under" and "play" with us ha ha
Now the movie itself is a typical up/down "feel good" type script with some predicatable jokes but all up it's a no brainer for a lazy afternoon watch.
Cena is clearly more than brawn he has done some good parts and this one he plays well.
Give it a go and I hope the Americans like our Heather Mitchell and various others that played it well.
Good Grief (2023)
Pretty Good and Levy Shines
I found Sophie really quite annoying, she was so entitled loud and Don't smoke in that beautiful house ffs!
Now that I got that out, Levy, as expected, was brilliant. I loved the "twist" card from Oliver
Now I'm not sure if it's just me but are these 3 really that close? They all seemed to be lying to each other, hiding things! My friends and I told each other everything from the good to the bad! I'm straight and not sure if it is any different in the gay world of relationships, I've always thought it would be same or similar but I don't really understand these 3 maybe I've missed something. Even the heart to heart on the Ferris wheel ......
But all up was a tear jerker, an OMFG 🙀 and funny
Ps why did they not ask Luca for his key the minute he walked in the door.
FBI: Most Wanted: Above & Beyond (2024)
Hmmmm becoming too many back stories
Ok where to start
Ok Kristen is gone.....let me know anyone who actually knows WHY she left both character and actor!
Oh look Nina is coming to replace her! Ok so she clearly wanted a kid but doesn't really want to be there for him because "baby daddy" & nanny is there, so she said on a few occasions and seriously when in a car chase why did she have to put in those faces of grimace when going around a corner just like kids do on a gaming racing game?!
Enough with the one liners Boss "I'm not going anywhere and nothing you can do about it so get used to it" omg seriously?!
Sad to see Hobbs die,
FBI: International: June (2024)
Over dramatic
Why is international writing different to the other 2?
This episode (there have been others) where it appears that nearly all main characters got their 3 secs of close up cringes to the face, dramatically hitting a wall whilst leaning on it with head bowed.
Seriously for FBI agents working in foreign areas they really seem a bit "soft" and way over the top with their reactions!
Great story that an American vascular surgeon "best of the best" just happens to be in a conference less than an hour away to be able to be picked up and ferried to the hospital to be able to walk right in and start operating and please AGAIN with the eye acting (due to masks being worn) and head nodding of 2 surgeons who have never met is hilarious.
Hoping next week will be less drama acting and more story.
Disparu à jamais (2021)
Waste of time
I really enjoy Harlems books.... I like his twists but this was such a lagging slow burn that there was no excitement finding out the twists,
I'm not sure if it was because it was a French spoken film but my god the acting......it was so lame! Did some of the dialogue get misinterpreted? The fight scenes looked like my brother and I acting them out as kids with our own choreography!
I was completely let down by this I ended up fast forwarding so much in the last episode as I was hoping there may have been an even bigger twist.......but alas it was a clique of hugs and sweet thoughts of the remaining 3 which of course was set by the beach YAWN.
Reacher (2022)
Wow! Glad I found this
I never saw the movie, didn't think Tom Cruise would be apt came across this and was so happy ainfound it. Now apart from Alan Ritchson being one good looking unit he plays this part so well.
I was pleasantly surprised that it's not all just kill and Maine it's got some good humour as well.
Season one was well thought out, of course some things can't be actually acted out like the book but this does a great job of it.
The actors used for both seasons are impeccable at their job to allow us to believe it actually happened. Not too far fetched so the viewer can believe.
It's a total 10 from me even with its silly flaws it is so easy to binge.
The Wrong Patient (2018)
Ha ha Oh USA at its best 🙄
So I only watched this as I was having a lame day watching all the crap on streaming and this one is one of the best or worst in the pile ha ha
America with their hunt for perfection and plastic surgery just makes this semi believable
I have no idea who any of these actors are (funny that) and they have got to be the worst ever they actually belong in their lame soap operas that we all laugh at. The story line is sooooooo old and this one has added some bizarre addings to an already stupid plot.
No one is that good at following people ALL the time and was so predictable at the very ending. Yes we all know there are a massive bunch of looneys out there but this one really takes the Mickey out of them I laughed most of the way through
It should be in the comedy genre not drama ha ha.
Murdoch Mysteries: Drawn in Blood (2021)
Just a good I saw
At the end where they show all the Canadian women who had made a name for themselves there is a spelling mistake
Irene Palby as shown in the episode is actually Irene Parlby.
This may well be a boring thing for people to read but as MM is all about showing what DID happen and by who I thought it was a good point to make.
Does anyone else think this show is becoming a bit tedious? What is with Mrs Hart? What the hell is she up to? One episode she is good the next she is drugging her husband and giving off a bad vibe next they all suspect her of something the next it's like nothing ever happened?
Alice, Darling (2022)
What a waste of time
I came across this on a streamer, I like Kendrick so thought I would give it a go. Complete waste of time. I too have been in her position so could relate to her dilemma. Then it all went downhill fast. There seemed to be a few stories going on ere and none of them got "solved" or even delved into enough to know what was actually going on.
The ending was so poor, really? Her friend was "saving" her with a MAUL in the back window of the car? So much left unsaid and left up to us to imagine/ponder or even care what happened in the aftermath.
IMDB gave a review that has made it out to be an entirely different reason they went to the cabin and what actually happened there! Give it a miss unless you are only watching whilst ironing or doing another chore you just want background noise.
The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Punch or Be Punched (2023)
Not sure still
So......I'm sure I'm not the only one who actually laughed at the over the top dramatically executed portrayal of "Michael Barnett" played by Michael Barnett
I guess no one will ever really know the real truth behind the whole saga
Is Kristina as bad as they have said? Is Michael a melodramatic insipid man? How old is Natalia? Did she really try to kill people? Is Natalia a con? A manipulator? Michaels new girlfriend appears to be a enabler also. I'm sure if this was an actual horrendous case then it would not have been filmed like a reality show. Clearly both Jacob & Michael have mental problems and social inabilities. The only one (in my opinion) who spoke the only truth was the police and the blonde attorney.
Ted Lasso: So Long, Farewell (2023)
It's a sad night
Well there it is the ending of Ted Lasso! So sad as I have enjoyed this series so much and I am not a soccer fan in any shape or form. This was a great ending only a few questions, who did Keeley pick? Does Ted get back with his ex- wife? Overall I loved it but very sad at the last second, I did not want it to end!
I'm sure in a few months or so I will start from the beginning all over and still enjoy every minute. Even though there were some yankie actors in it I'm glad they didn't flog it to death like the yanks do and as all British series they leave off in a good place before it becomes a drag to watch....not enough space to write all the shows flogged by the Americans
Your shift has ended Ted Lasso.
The Flash: A New World, Part 4: Finale (2023)
It's over.....phew
Goodness!!! Well it's all over now THANK THE LORD! I no longer have to waste $2.99 for the next episode just so I could see the very end with hope that it would be at least a good ending! Alas it was not...Cecile is not a very good "mime" actor as her killing off the clones was like she was brushing away a fly. Why bring Eddie back to be a very limp villain to only end up being "nice" yawn!!! Barry people die ffs let it happen!!
Finally Nora is born so we can put all that boredom to bed and miraculously the timeline was saved!! Yah woo hoo blah blah the acting was very lame in this and oh of COURSE the one only "human" has ended up a meta......cheers buddy welcome to the lame team. Great they got basically every cameo (pity for elongated man) and the ending for the trio of people in the character of frost and all the others was told....bye bye Flash.
FBI: Most Wanted: Bad Seed (2023)
Dr Donald cline Revisited
Are they getting hard up on story lines? Appears they are bringing out the dreadful story of what "Dr" Donald Clone was doing in the 80's and using his own sperm to inseminate woman unknown by them it was his speed and fathered over 100 children, disgraceful.
This episode though has bought in a few extras surprises with the donor having lupus and then 2 of his children met and married! The whole story is definitely good with the twists. It was a bit far fetched but overall not a bad episode. I think the "donor" scene was bit over done and she is a weak actress but not bad.
Enjoy it as you wish.
FBI (2018)
Loving it
Now that I stumbled upon this show and have totally binged the whole lot that I am now having to wait weekly for the next episode I'm at my height of excitement awaiting it. As Most Wanted & Internatik Al all come on the same day it's great to binge all 3 in one night, which helps if they ever do a tri crossover (happens twice so far).
I think most of it is fairly believable, I like the rapport between all the cast/colleagues and although being America (who think they are the worlds best at everything) I actually enjoy it and their stories.
I guess it's quite patriotic but that is to be expected with a USA film/series
I think they forget about the rest of the world and how we all can obtain what they all do.
Quantum Leap (2022)
Not so sure
I'm not sure if because it's over 30 years ago that I was hanging for the next episode of Quantum Leap knowing from the episode prior where Sam leaped to and I throughly loved this show, but this remake is not really cutting it. There appears to be too many "anomalies" going on to concentrate on the "reason you leaped" it was great back in the day seeing how Sam adapted to leaping into an unknown male/female and seeing how quick he could cope with the situation he was in this just seems that he can do anything that he has leaped into and is more interested in his chat with his fiancé blah blah
It's a miss from me, I can't see it going to to many more seasons.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022)
Funny Sh@t
Ok so I went into this thinking it was a life story/doco.....but was pleasantly surprised!
Those who dont have a sense of humour are the ones giving it low scores!
Of course it's all bullsh@t a parody on a parody.
Those of us who grew up in the 80's should fully understand all the "cameo's" of the 80's stars and was also great to see lots of actual stars doing their own cameo in some weird character Jack Black Will Forte Rainn Wilson
Superb even the statement from
John Deacon...Queen......bass player.... I really enjoyed this for what it was meant to be A FUNNY PARODY on a genius who is famous for PARODY
Even Al Yankovic gets a cameo and looks nothing recognisable.
Ted Lasso (2020)
Very surprised of how great this is
I had this in my watch list for a year or so. I live Jason which was the only reason I was marking it as I'm not into soccer last week I finally got around to starting it. I could not press stop and I ended up binging the whole 2 seasons in a day and i absolutely love it. It's great that the Americans have bought in some English humour as me as an Aussie can have a great laugh at ALL the jokes. I'm thinking it's a comedy but then, yes I am admitting this, I also had a cry!
The storyline is brilliant I am so looking forward to 15 march for the final season! I only renewed my appleTV subscription so I can watch this.
Wednesday (2022)
Well done Mr Roth
I was sceptical I thought it may be more for the younger peeps but gave it a go and am so glad I did.
I love it yes I was an original Addams Family fan from my youth & watching the series in black & white the movies afterwards were just so/so & was thinking this could be the same but was pleasantly impressed that it was all that Tim Roth does, makes things brilliant
The story line was great, the graphics brilliant the actor who plays Wednesday does such a great job. Thing is awesome I hope they bring out a second season as I will be first in line to watch. The wardrobe is well placed for the characters.
You (2018)
Hmm the last season awaits
The first season "story" was such a thriller with so many twists and turns and shock wondering how the hell does he get away with all this? It does keep you on the edge wondering what next? Who next? How does he continue to evade the police?
Then we go to season 2 and our eyes widened even further with a #2 on the scene. It's a great thriller that you think where it's going and then BOOM 💥 it all turns around.
Well written
Then we go to season 3 and keep wondering where is this going to go when will he be caught and it keeps you just wanting more awaiting for the finale to see how it all ends after turning it all around against him.
