The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Where are they now in 2009?
This article that I am about to write took me about a week to compile for your pleasure. I had to search the depths of the internet for hours to answer this simple question, so you better enjoy my work!
I got the idea to write this story when I read an article on the internet, that was posted on many news sites.
THE RED RANGER!
We will start out with Austin St. John, The Red Ranger! I am starting out with him because he was the hardest to find info on, its like he fell off the face of this planet! Further research shows that he was born in Roswell, New Mexico!
Home of an alien crash site, which is really miles outside or Roswell! But thats another story. My theory that since he was from Roswell that he was maybe from another planet and just really decided to fall off the face of this planet and return to his native planet! But that is very far fetched. While not much showed up on Austin's where abouts on the internet I did manage to find a couple of sites that claimed that he moved on to being a gay porn star! I have not confirmed this because I do not watch gay porn, but from what the other site said was that the movie he was in was called "LAGUNA BEACH: A LOVE AFFAIR", and he used the porno name "Jason Cutler". It also mentioned that the back of the box to the video promotes this Jason Cutler guy as once having played the Red Power Ranger for MMPR. The Laguna Beach movie was made in 1995, and Austin left the Power Rangers in 1994. I also heard that he was to become a paramedic, or working at Gold's Gym In Herndon, Virginia as a personal trainer. So I leave it to you to decide.
THE BLUE RANGER!
Moving on to David Yost, who played the Blue Ranger, who was on the Rangers till 1996. In 2000 he tried to revive his actor career by playing in a made for tv movie called &After Diff'rnt Strokes - the end to the Laughter& He played the role of a PlayBoy photographer, and then Yost slipped into obscurity once again just to reappear in 2001.
He then tried his hand at producing, working on the series Alien Hunter and Temptation Island. Then he disapeared again, who knows where he will turn up next! David was knowned on the Power Rangers for his stupid quotes such as,You Ooze, You Lose!
THE YELLOW RANGER!
Next is Thuy Trang, the Yellow Ranger! After she left the show in 1994 she took a two year break until 1996 when she started doing movies. I guess that this would be the most successful Power Ranger yet as for movie jobs after being a ranger. She played a manicurist in the movie SpyHard, Then she played the role of Kali in The Crow: City of Angels.
There were no more movie roles after The Crow part 2, wonder why? Heh. Sadly to say, but on Sept. 3, 2001 Thuy was killed while driving on a freeway in California. You probably did not know about this, as I did not realize this until like a year ago! If you are wondering why that you did not know of the Power Ranger death, well after Sept. 11, 2001, she was put on the back burner.
THE PINK RANGER!
Next up is Amy Jo Johnson, the Pink Ranger! After she left the Power Rangers at the end of 1995 I would have to say that Amy would have to be the most successful in the tv acting field after the Power Rangers.
Amy has had guest appearances on Spin City, ER, Saved by the Bell: The New Class. She also has had many other tv roles other than guest appearances. In 1998 she was on the show Felicity playing Julie Emrick until 2000. In 1999 she had a starring role in the TV movie Sweetwater. She continues to do small TV acting today. But her main passion now is her music! Yeah you heard right, the Pink Power Ranger is in a band. She just released her new cd, im guessing self made, called: Amy Jo Live in Hollywood, with two other cds she made. Im sure If you lived out in California you could catch her show for under ten bucks. there are some clips of her music on her Website. Im not digging it, but thats not for me but for you to decide. She also did a nude scene in the movie called Pursuit of Happiness in 2001.
THE BLACK RANGER!
Here comes Walter Jones, The Black Ranger! When I found out what the Black Ranger is up to now I cracked up! But first off Walter left the show in 1994. Then he played roles on a couple TV shows that got canceled quickly, Malibu Shores and Space Cases on Nickelodeon. He has guest starred on Family Matters:Teacher's Pet episode, The Parent 'Hood, In the House, Moesha, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, NYPD Blue, and a few episodes of The Shield, including the pilot.
Other strange facts about Walter: In 1992, he played a barber shop customer in Malcom X. He is missing part of his middle finger and his mother shows his photos to people on the public buses. He was also the very first black ranger! He was on Star Search as a Dancer, and danced in the 1992 Olympics. In 1994 he was on Vh1's I love the 90's as himself and I think that was his last tv/movie gig since I am writing this. Now you ask Where is he now? Walter Jones is now a Salsa Dance instructor. He took first place in the 2004 Mayan World Salsa Competition. His Salsa dance classes range from the price of ten to eighteen bucks for a day. Who would pass up an offer to learn to dance from a Ex-Power Ranger? Check Out his Salsa Dance Website.
THE GREEN/WHITE RANGER!
And last but not least, Jason David Frank, The Green/White Ranger! He has appeared in over 190 episodes of the various versions of the Power Ranger series which makes him the longest running Power Ranger!
In 2005 he is still working on the Power Rangers! He has had TV guest appearances on such shows as Family Matters playing &Skull& in the Karate Kids episode, and also was on four Sweet Valley High Episodes! In 1999 Jason was on an episode of MTV's Erotic TV Show called Undressed.
You can also catch him on this movie called &Fall Guy: The John Stewart Story&, But I doubt this movie will ever even be released to vhs with it's terrible acting in it. Warning: do not kill yourself if you watch this but I was lucky enough to find a video clip of the great acting in the movie! So you want to know what he does now? Well besides from still living off of doing Power Ranger gig, Jason now owns and teaches at The Rising Sun Karate Academy in Southern California, and some of the courses he teaches has the Ranger name in them. He also owns another Academy in Toms River New Jersey. Check out His cheesy Commercial for his karate school with the shameless Power Ranger plug in it!
Zordon!
Bob Manahan, The voice of Zordon the talking head is also dead! He Passed away in his sleep due to a heart issue, possibly aneurism on 6-30-2000
The Conclusion:
The next time you think to yourself &Where are the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Now?& Now you know! I have noticed that the last three Rangers on my list you probably could see/learn dance or karate from for under 10 bucks, Since the Green Power Ranger offers two free lessons on his commercial! Hehe. Well I will probably update this post when one of the above listed rangers goes postal on sombody someday, I myself am waiting for the day.
Reviews
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995)
Power Rangers, first the worst television show, now the worst movie to accompany it!
First of all, the power rangers television show is the worst television show ever made, so, I guess the people behind it, want the worst movie ever made. Mission accomplished.
Power rangers is about a group of intellectually inferior kids who dress up in silly spandex outfits and play around in '70s Japanese plastic toys, they "fight" each other with Kung Fu.
You would think that Americans would have the intelligence to avoid such nonsense, but, I guess not, the youth of America were gullible enough to buy into this nonsense, so what did they do, make a silly movie to accompany their awful television show.
This is not a television show or movie, it's really a commercial to sell second and third class plastic garbage to the gullible youth of America, period.
Avoid at all costs!
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993)
One of the worst television shows of all time!
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers has got to be the worst television show ever made. There is no plot, just a bunch of silly costumed kids using martial arts while dressed up in second class spandex outfits.
The special effects look like they are from the '70's, the costumes look like something out of a bad comedy, and the show is just plain awful.
The only thing worse than the television show are the toys, just second rate plastic garbage fed to our kids.
There are far better shows for your kids to watch!
Try giving your kids something like Nickelodean, those shows actually have some intelligence behind them, unlike power rangers.
