C.B. Strike (2017– )

Terrible, just terrible
6 September 2017
Awful or terrible.. choose between the two. From the ridiculous names (and I do mean ridiculous) to the completely unbelievable story. Even if you accept that it's not 'real' there are limits to what even the most imaginative person can absorb. I actually laughed at parts that I think were supposed to be serious. Nowhere near as good as The Fall (or pretty much any other similar programme). Acting is okay but dialogue and script are woeful. I consider the time taken watching this drivel as time I could have better spent doing... well absolutely anything else!

John Wick (2014)
10/10
Stylish action thriller
6 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
John Wick is easily Keanu''s best film since the original (and only good film in the franchise) matrix. The action slowly builds along with the tension as Wick seeks revenge for the murder of his dog and the theft of his beloved car (great scene in the garage when the thieves turn up with Wicks' stolen car and Leguizamo realises who's car it is and what is coming next). The bad guys get no sympathy as carnage ensues and Reeves is great as the relentlessly cold killer. This film is the taken sequel that has never happened! Nyqvist gets to play a heartless bad guy and mafioso style boss who's son is the primary goal of Wick's revenge. I disagree with those who say there is no story to this film (some of the same people liked speed which is, and always has been, simply awful!) and I think the characters are reasonably well thought out and the acting good for a film of this genre. Overall, a very entertaining action thriller.

Interstellar (2014)

Utter utter rubbish

Don't waste any of your precious time watching this terrible, boring and dull film. The acting was simply harrowing to watch... Anne Hathaway was, as always, akin to balsa wood and completely implausible.. the woman just can't act. The film rumbles along for an hour before anything happens, by which time you don't really care... and you are probably very bored. The plot (and I use the term loosely) is ridiculous and there is more tension in a broken elastic band. By watching this, I feel like I traded brain cells for jellybeans.. I must comment on the special effects which I was led to believe were good... They were not! The script has more holes than a sieve, especially when it comes to the scientific theories related to space travel... Please, please don't watch this trash...

A waste of 2 hours
24 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Rating this as 1 out of 10 (awful) doesn't really reflect just how poor this film actually is. I understand that this is Summer blockbuster patriotism but this trash is an insult to the eyes, from the bad acting to the script... who would say these things.

Rather like 24 (which is a good watch) can I suggest that the Government departments and agencies beef up their recruitment procedures because it seems that they regularly employ traitors and never properly check the background of people who suddenly start working in Government buildings.

One positive is that the bad guys gradually lose their ability to shoot accurately as the film progresses. At the outset, they are slick and basically kill everyone with dead-eye precision but later on they become standard 'can't hit a barn door' baddies who attended the university of bad guys never win..

2 hrs lost forever...
