Bad Moon (1996)
Fun Film
Many people didn't like this film. I enjoyed it. It kept my interest from beginning to end. The effects were not "stand out", but they were good in that they reminded me of "American Werewolf in London". It's a great popcorn film. Also where ever they filmed it is absolutely beautiful! Great landscapes. I also liked the idea of the family in danger. So many films nowadays you have a boyfriend and girlfriend story, but here we have a family unit. Also, THOR was great! I love when a dog comes to the rescue or in some ways is the center of the story. The dog reminded me of the one in "The Hills Have Eyes" same breed (German Shephard). This is one film I have in my DVD library and pop it in every once in a while and catch something different. Just another take on the werewolf genre.
Deadly Game (1991)
Kept my interest
I am sure some will disagree but I thought this film was entertaining. It kept my interest in that I continuously found myself wanting to know who was behind the "game". The acting is good, yeah some of the dialog is cheesy, but the actors in the film are not. There is suspense as well. I do have to admit I really like Jenny Seagrove. She was GREAT in "The Guardian" and I had not seen her in anything since and when I saw her name on the jacket I rented it. Also, you can always count on Marc Singer and Roddy McDowell. If you enjoyed the movie "Surviving the Game" you will enjoy this. Actually I think this is even better then surviving the game because there is more character involvement. If you get a chance it is worth the watch.
Creature (1999)
Well done
I would give this a 10 out of 10, but I did walk away from the film wanting to know more about certain aspects of Stacey's life. I too grew up in a small town (farm) in West Michigan and saw many of my parents attributes in Staceys. I am not going through any changes as Stacey, but I found myself nervous for her when she would go home. I applaud her parents for loving her for who she is. I enjoyed the film very much. I never lost interest. I have friends going through the change and it is not something they decided over night and it is an internal and external struggle for them. I believe this film was an honest portrayal showing all sides. I didn't enjoy the scene regarding the fights with Stacey and her boyfriend. But understand that was part of the film. I would like to see where Stacey is at now with her life. After watching this film I thought to myself if I was a producer, this would be a possibly idea for a reality show. not something to laugh or make fun of, but a real inside look at a persons struggle to go from one sex to another. Congrats to Stacey for giving us an up close and personal look inside her life.
