Avatar (2009)
goof - continuity (spoiler)
splendid movie, I saw just 1 continuity goof:
Jake Sully's Avatar cannot defend himself to the Thanator when he enters the jungle for the first time. At the end the AMP suit of Colonel Quaritch beats the Thanator easily. After that Jake Sully's Avatar defends himself with a knife to the attacks of the arms of the AMP suit.
In other words: The Thanator is stronger than the Avatar. The AMP suit is stronger than the Thanator. The Avatar is stronger than the AMP suit.
When you think about the physical forces working in these acts and movements, and imagining the body weights of the subjects, the Avatars successful defense to the AMP suit seems not logical to me at all.
TBS (2008)
What does the story want to say?
Maassen did do a good job acting and the director succeeded in taking me on a trip. For me watching this movie was enjoyable for 80%, but the main reason I eventually did not like it, was because afterward I started thinking about the question: what did the movie want to tell me? I did not find an answer. This means either I did not understand the plot, or the story just did not appeal to me. I guess the last.
For being a Dutch movie the style of this work did impress me, but I would not recommend my friends to watch it.
Nice trivia: Maassen was brought to the premier in a police car and stepped out being hand coughed.
