Star Trek: Discovery: Forget Me Not (2020)
Who is the Blonde woman?
So I'm watching this episode and I see an attractive Blonde woman, again...who was added to the crew a few episodes ago. I don't believe she has spoken any words at all. Who is she and what are the writers going to do with her? Will they kill her off like they did the android/human person last season and make a Big Deal about it? Will she be a spy? Could she have anything ti do other than sit there and look attractive? Or show surprise on her face? This is a strange mystery and I'm not really sure I give a Damn, Jim! Here are some more random thoughts and letters to make my Required Character Count...
The Rehearsal (2022)
Uncomfortable Weird Surprises!
I hadn't heard of Nathan Fielder until today when I heard the review of this new show on NPR's Fresh Air. I thought that the premise of the show would be taking away the surprises of Living, and helping people to circumvent lessons they needed to learn. After watching all the details happen, maybe some circumstances could be helped by this process. Of course, who has the time and $$ to make it happen? It might be fun to try this with friends to support someone going through difficulty. Hmm...who can I get to try this out? Nathan is definitely a strange character and I'll be watching again, and looking up his other stuff!
Ms. Marvel: Crushed (2022)
Latinx? Shut up!
Great show but almost ruined with the Politically Correct dumb Latinx comment! No one cares! I do like the family talk about their history and the fun story of her lost and scandalous great grandma!
Irma Vep (2022)
Unexpected fun!
A popular actress joins a strange director and some other weird characters in a remake of an old silent film about Vampires who aren't really Vampires. I'm all in! Sure, much of it makes no sense but the fun is in the characters and what they do and say. Guess I was in the mood for something different because I like it more than most.
The Wheel of Time: Blood Calls Blood (2021)
TV, Not a book!
I didn't even know this was a book series. Glad I didn't read it because I like what I'm seeing here. Good acting, interesting stories and surprises. What more is there? Read the books again if you don't like it.
Enterprise: Vox Sola (2002)
Let's all argue while our Captain is hanging in GOO!
Hoshi freaks out and pouts "I'm not good enough" because T'Pol is just being a Vulcan, and Lt. Reed and Dr Phlox's arguments go on way too long. They both act like asshats! One "Alien" is a stupid, boring mass of white goo webbing that traps Trip, the Captain and several others who are too slow and dumb as molasses for poking their noses too close to the thing. Then all they do is groan as they're hanging around in the "alien" webb and try to guess each other's thoughts! Travis apologizes to the other aliens who are embarrassed to see anyone eat, which is also a stupid idea, and then we never see him tell T'Pol that happened or that he got the coordinates to take the "goo webb" aliens home! Lots of standing around and waiting...waiting...! I guess one of the writer's kids threw out an idea and everyone was tired so they said what the heck!
Homeland: Chalk One Up (2020)
We knew this was coming.
Saul has a few choice words for Tasneem, the conniving officer! We shall see how long the Peace lasts. Fantastic speech by President Warner and the suspense is way up and amazing how, again they are following today's World events!
Medical Police (2020)
Huh?
I think all the writers have an incurable disease called "let's see how much crap we can throw at this stupid audience and see if anything sticks." Nothing sticks.
Designated Survivor: #thesystemisbroken (2019)
Ready to stir things up!
Oh yes! We have a President who gives a damn about the People he works for and we have a few f-bombs and other sparingly used curse words, which put a few Conservatives' panties in a wad and they've already freaked out with their reviews of "its not a family show anymore!" More, please!! Plus, we have a show that doesn't treat the viewers like babies and gets into some real issues such as loopholes for underage marriage right here in the good ol' US of A, tightly comparing US to the Saudis.
We also have some gay sex which is as graphic as any PG-13 show and should really piss off all the Conservatives. Again...more, please!!! I'm loving it and only 4 episodes in!!
Captain Marvel (2019)
Perfect film and actress for the Women of Today!
Fantastic film, great effects and I was surprised and pleased that her origin story dealt with her friend, and superior instead of the old tired one about Mom or Dad! We get to see her world turned upside down and then she FINDS HER STRENGTH because of it. Of course, that part is not original but the fact that SHE is a Strong Woman and doesn't need a male (see: Wonder Woman. No disrespect, Sincerely!) Love interest, is refreshing to me, a Male who isn't Threatened by a Strong, Independent Woman, and probably to most women alive at this important time in History. (See also: #metoo) Reading all the 1 & 2 star reviews from upset and crybaby males saying Brie Larson has no emotions or can't carry the film is just sad and makes me angry. The reason this film is so divisive is because this is an EMPOWERED WOMAN! She doesn't take any crap from anyone, whether CHARACTER or ACTRESS. Because she realizes that her REAL STRENGTH, which is much different from POWER, comes from Inside her Self, it seems this is VERY SCARY to the hordes of males who are whining because she won't SMILE for them. Sorry guys, but now is the time to Deal with what makes you uncomfortable. Go watch it again with a Woman and discuss!
Enterprise: Cogenitor (2003)
First of all, they are not slaves.
Yes, I said it. They are not slaves. A slave knows it is a slave and lives in deplorable conditions. The Cogenitor lived with the couple, ate the same food and was treated comfortably. There was absolutely No Evidence of the Cogeniter being treated unfairly, or hurt, or anything else we seemed to create in our minds. The fact that they talked about "it" made some of you uncomfortable which was what was supposed to happen, yet that language is the Main Difference used as a device to have a Trip (and the rest of us) become upset. Archer was right and Tripp was an idiot for interfering, but then there wouldn't be a good show would there? Also, the Doctor was correct in warning Tripp to mind his own business because No One was being harmed, and he knew Tripp was going to mess everything up.
Luke Cage: Soul Brother #1 (2018)
Great music!
This was a great first episode. The Weirdness of the music in the club and Maria's remark to the picture of her mother made me crack up. FUN is the name of the game for Season 2 and I'm happily along for the ride!
The Handmaid's Tale: First Blood (2018)
There are guards with guns.
This was THE most satisfying episode yet, at the last minute. And also to point out that there WAS security with guns at the opening meeting of the new Slave Center. One reviewer was mistaken.
Dune (1984)
Laughable
Someone went through the book, picked out the most memorable lines, threw them in a blender and poured out a script. What a mess.
