Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part One (2024)
Wow what a cluster
I agree with those that said this movie is all over the place but to be honest the animated DC movies have been mostly garbage which is truly sad IMOP as they have massive talent doing the voices.
The animation style is sloppy and lazy. Don't believe me?
Try going back and watching Justice League. Crisis on Two Earths and compare the two.
These movies have been a complete disappointment since the end of the series of cohesive stories told that started with Flashpoint and Ended with. Justice League Dark Apokolips War.
The only exception to the rule of stink in this recent turn in movies are the Batman long halloween movies.
Here's hoping James Gunn can turn the ship around in the live action and animated movies.
Justice League: Warworld (2023)
Boring from the start
My goodness what a colossal piece of pooh. The pacing is so horribly slow its like watching paint dry while bleeding out from a stab wound. A stab that is directly in the heart of what was once the best part of DC movies, both live action and animated. Also go back to the New 52 movies animated style. This new style is clunky and robotic looking, lacking fluidness and passion and artistically dead on arrival.
The voice cast was wasted on this movie. They are truely a great cast with iconic voices that fit the characters perform as. Jensen Is fantastic as Batman and would transition perfectly to live action and I hope James Gunn deems it so.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)
Smiled the entire time
I grew up on Nintendo video games from their first system and my first game was you guessed it super mario bros. This film is great in that it is a love story to the fans but also a love story that we need to see more of. Its a story of the love of ones brother and what lengths one will go to protect his younger brother. Sometimes this gets overlooked with the amazing visuals and nostalgia but I think it is a heart felt theme that many may dismiss as trivial but what kind of world would we be living in of more people cared less for themselves and more for each other.
The nods to various video games makes this a fun watch and brought back great memories of playing these games with family and friends. Especially the mario kart scene which is great! The story line is simple but its fun and Jack Black shines as Bowser. The music is great and the voice cast are all spot on. Definitely stay for the end credits scene and cant wait for the sequel that will hopefully introduce more peeps from the Mario Universe!
Andor (2022)
Lets make a show about the least interesting character from Rogue 1
Sigh where to begin with this. First off I wouldn't say I am a huge star wars fan so please take that into account. I enjoy Star Wars story and character development but I feel they picked the most uninteresting character from a spin off movie made to explain a plot whole in the original. This is to much of a reach to explain something about this random character when there are other more interesting characters to pull from the movies.
When has this model worked in the Star Wars universe of movies? Book of Boba Fett is an example of this.... Snore fest. So much so they had to take up two episodes with the Mandalorian storyline just to keep its viewership and I think this is headed down the same road unfortunately. I am 3 episodes in and care nothing for the characters. To be fair maybe it will get better as the season moves along but honestly i would have love to seen more about Jenn Ursa or the blind non jedi from Rogue one.
Maybe Alan Tudyk's android performance will come in and save the day...heres hoping anyway given this show has been greenlit for a second season already.
Lightyear (2022)
Not even Captain America could save this movie.
Pixar tried something different and unfortunately it just didn't work. I am a fan of both Chris Evans, professionally and personally and Pixar but this was a bad script, pacing, humor you name it and it fell short. I think that Disney and Pixar should try to develop new IPs instead of taking characters from a beloved series and making garbage for a cash grab.
Granted not everything they try will be golden and the law of averages will allow a few duds to come their way but seriously this movie failed alongside the mountain of toys and other merch that is already in the clearance aisles at name brand stores.

Eternals (2021)
Such a waste of good characters
When I first heard of the Eternals movie the first thing that came to mind was Oh no this is going to be horrible but to be fair I thought the same about the Guardians of the Galaxy and was pleasantly surprised by that so I figured what the heck I will give it a shot. However, my initial thoughts were correct and this became the worst Marvel movie in its history of the established MCU and thats saying something when Thor 2 held that spot.
This movie was made for no one! The fans of the source material hate it, those unfamiliar with the source material but love marvel movies hate it. These characters and the actors/actress that play them are awesome but could have easily been brought to screen in other IPs.
The movie suffers greatly from lackluster performances, a convoluted plot, being about an hour to long, at times 1990 CGI and way to many characters to give any real time to flesh out, show heart or sympathize with.
I guess with as many hits Marvel has had recently they were due for a stinker of a film. Here's hoping this doesn't start a permanent trend.
F9 (2021)
Furiously Dying Fast
What started with a semi believable premise with the first movie has continually reached an extreme point of absurdity with each addition. 5-7 is probably the most enjoyable but I think we have reached Sharknado territory with the 9th film in the franchise, (not including the Hobbs and Shaw spin off). I think the next step in the franchise should be time travel. Also i don't understand the recent love for John Cena in everything. The dude is all muscles and very little acting ability. I hope he gets better, similar to Dwayne Johnson, but right now he needs to take acting classes or something to improve his craft.
Deathstroke Knights & Dragons: The Movie (2020)
Snore fest
Wow I literally feel asleep watching this. First off hate this new animation direction they are going starting with this and continuing with Superman man of tomorrow, it's terrible and feels like it is taking steps backward not forward so please stop.
Second the story as many have already stated is filled with unneeded exposition and superhero origin cliche nonsense. Characters are boring even the main one.
These movies used to be good not sure what happened or why it digressed in quality. Here's hoping DC can turn it around though especially since their live action films are hot or complete miss.
