First Kill (2017)
Bad story writing, bad character development, bad movie
I rented this movie from Netflix, wish I hadn't. I don't know if these reviews ever get back to the writers, but come on folks, do a better job writing!!! if you're going to include characters in the movie, develop them, have them be part of the story, not just dropped in and forgotten. As a viewer I absolutely felt cheated again and again. SPOILER ALERTS - Examples:
- How many others in the police dept are involved? Who were the Stechel brothers? Is one still around? Why did so many police officers want to rob the bank? Planning of the robbery - it would have been nice to see it. What went wrong? The others Howell talked with on the radio, were they part of the robbery? feeding him info?
- Will Beaman - Who raised him, if his parents died an early death? Where did he learn HIS life lessons and values? Because these are what he's trying to pass on to his son.
- Danny Beaman - Do the life lessons that he learned on this trip, from his Dad & Levi, help him at school? Solve his problems?
- Levi - He built his hide-out to elude the police years earlier. Why? What did he do back then? It seemed well hidden, how did the police finally find him after months (or years) of searching?
- Mabel - What happens to her, now that Levi & Adele are both dead?
- Howell - He is the common thread through years of the community. He knows all the secrets, yet he has very few lines, very few stories to tell. Why did he hate Will Beaman's parents so much he pushed them off a cliff? What were the circumstances surrounding their deaths? He obviously resented his job - how else did that resentment show up in the way he did his job - it didn't show! The viewer couldn't really tell, but it was obviously important to the story.
The movie just ended - the story was not finished. It left me asking - Where's the rest of the story? What happens with... ARGH
Hunter Killer (2018)
Best action movie I've seen in a while
This movie has a lot of action, keeps you on the edge of your seat. I thought, at the start, it would be like other submarine movies - NOT so! This movie had quite a few twists and unexpected results. I think you'll enjoy this one!
All Saints (2017)
Good story, terrible ending
Good story, terrible ending. I don't care if it was based on a real story. We need heroes in our lives and the ending stole it away. TERRIBLE. Come on screen writers do a damn better job!
