Curse of the Nun (2019)
big knockoff
This is nothing more than a attempt to grab cash from the crowd thats dumb enough to think that its the movie from the conjuring series. looking at carhurs review really kind of verifies that since he seems to be one of those people. just a shoddy b horror
The Cropsey Incident (2017)
this was just painful.
I'm not one for hating on low budget found footage flicks. sometimes you can look past a little bad acting or some bad effects if the story/events are well thought out. i cant stand it when people post shitty reviews on decent movies all because they want to be trendy. that really isn't the case here. this one was bad. really bad. probably the first time i've turned off a movie halfway through in years. I can easily say it was Rinska Carrasco's performance and character. not only did the actress fail, but the personality she gave the character failed as well, just stupid and senselessly angry. if they would have cut her character out, its likely i could have been willing to at least finish the movie. i swear, my hedgehog could have played Nina better.
Nephilim: Origin of Genetic Evil (2013)
sort of interesting
the guy has a great voice if you watch this from an asmr perspective (if you don't know what that is, it doesn't apply to you). the movie itself is confusing since he contradicts himself several times over and a large portion of what he says are facts are just completely random tidbits that will hold no connection to the anything hes saying. i think the guy just likes to talk after doing a few lines of speed. while a little interesting, this guy sounds more like hes trying to convince himself of the existence of this fantasy world.
The Dark Tapes (2016)
was very surprised at this one
didn't know what to expect going into this, though i had decently high hopes since any found footage that gets higher than a 4 on IMDb tends to be pretty damn good (for some reason its trendy to hate movies, especially found footage). this one reminds me of VHS since its several stories that range from demons to aliens to just evil people. each story wasn't overly complicated and each one gave you just enough information so your not sitting confused wondering about the little things. this is one you should give a chance, its worth it. plus its only an hour and a half so its not a real long one. i definitely recommend it.
Martyrs (2015)
i liked it
i don't get all the whining about this movie, its a good horror flick. i know its not cool to say a movie is good nowadays, but this one isn't bad. its not some masterpiece, but it isn't a B horror flick either. if you want to sit down and see a decent scary movie and your not some overly critical basement dweller asking your mom to bring you more hot-pockets while you post your hundredth review about how you hate every movie in existence, you'll probably like it.
i would like to say that if it wasn't so popular to hate every film released, we would probably get quite a bit more originality in movies. if you release 10 movies and every one of them gets nothing but unjustified hating and complaints, what motivation is there to try harder next time?
Snow on tha Bluff (2011)
wow
this film really amazed me. i normally wouldn't watch something like this, i actually stay fairly far from the overly glamorized "thug" type titles. this is one that i can hope people watch and take a warning from, don't wander where you shouldn't. having said that, this is another film that proves that regardless of what you see on the news or what you see in protests, these people will never allow these areas to improve. i see comments saying that we should start putting more effort into bettering these type of violent areas, but it will never happen because people like Curtis wont let it. they say they have it hard there, they make it hard, they make the area bad, they keep it that way. all in all though this was a really amazing film and ill be recommending it to everyone that has netflix to watch it.
Welcome to the Jungle (2007)
very good found footage flick
I have watched this film several times and I still clench a bit when the smoke warrior appears a few feet from bijou. this was a very well done found footage, acting seemed real, dialog felt real, locations felt as real as they can in a movie like this. I loved the nods at cannibal holocaust, yes I am okay with the fact that this was a remake of it in a sense. to all those that "hate" it, it seems like there's a large group of movie goers out there that just like to spend their time hating on every found footage or any original movie idea that's made. If it's not the same people doing the same thing then y'all have to tear into it. If you don't like found footage, you wont like this movie i'm betting, so don't watch it and come on here and talk about how much you hate the genre. I on the other hand love found footage (even the cheesy bad ones sometimes) and I find that if i'm entertained for the time it takes to get through the flick, then its a decent movie. I'm not looking for some director to wipe my ass and hand me a 5$ bill every time i boo and hiss. for anyone that does like the found footage genre, you got to check this one out, its very much worth it.
