Control Factor (2003)
Excellent movie
I hesitated to see the movie because of that 5.1 from IMDb.com (but it is not the first time when the note is far below the quality of a movie - maybe they can do something about it). Surprisingly, it's an excellent film and the acting is very good. Adam Baldwin, as always, a wonderful actor, sustains very well the lead role. I still do not understand why he has not more leading roles in which he can show his true value. The actress who plays the wife sustains very well her character. The whole action is entertaining.Although there are some aspects and parts of the plot who does not run very well, on the whole it's a very good movie, For my part, I give the maximum evaluation.
The Last Ship (2014)
Wrong cast for the main character
The subject of this series has been exploited before. It belongs to the "disaster"category. It could be a good thriller, spectacular, it has dramatic moments and knows how to keep you connected to the events. What I reproach is the cast of the main character. Sorry to say, Eric Dane does not handle the captain role, he seems to be simply overwhelmed. He makes visible and vain efforts to match the role. He is suitable for characters like that from "Grey's Anatomy", but not here. The only one who raise the distribution level (together with Charles Parnell, Travis van Winkle and Marissa Neitling) is Adam Baldwin. And here I must reproach to the screenwriters (I think they are the 2 characters that appeared at DSCC 2014 - very infatuated) that they have minimized Baldwin's role to the maximum (no matter the book, how many movies respect the book?), they wanted to make him look like an insignificant performer who is not allow to think. Only Baldwin's talent and personality escaped Slattery character from ridiculous. I do not understand their thinking- many of those who follow "The Last Ship", do this for Adam Baldwin. They should give him more importance and characteristics that put him in evidence (not necessarily to overshadow Eric Dane, whose undeserved promotion seems to be a priority).I must add that Adam Baldwin's contribution to the serial promotion was crucial for the audience. I hope that even in season 2 they'll give Baldwin the chance to show his talent and that his character will leave the shadow in which it is kept.
