A charming flick
20 November 2014
This is a movie that I really enjoyed when I first saw it and continue to enjoy to this day. We get introduced to Lumpy, a young heffalump. If you remember the original film, heffalumps are creatures that are to be feared, along with the woozle. However, little Lumpy is nothing of the sort. He's a charming character that you warm up to pretty quickly, as does Roo. When Roo tries to convince the rest of the gang that Lumpy is harmless, the others don't believe him and instead live with their prejudices. In the end, the Hundred Acre crew learns that just because someone's different, doesn't mean they can't be good people. If you're looking for a flick that has a charming character and a charming lesson with Pooh and his crew, this is for you. Heffa nice day. :)

It's a decent flick
20 November 2014
This is one of the films that I grew up with, so you can imagine all the childhood nostalgia I feel for this movie. I was actually a little surprised at how much people were complaining about the "dark elements" of this movie. I'll admit the Skull stuff is a little avant garde for Winnie the Pooh. However, there's plenty of other children's films that are dark and much worse than this. Something I really like about this film is that our characters travel beyond the Hundred Acre Woods to far off locations in order to "rescue" their human companion. The characters also get into peril in order to find themselves, which is actually pretty impressive for a kid's film. Overall, this is a great adventure that proves "you're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think".

It really makes me feel
20 November 2014
This movie is a real tearjerker for me. The one scene that really gets to me and breaks my heart is when Littlefoot's mom dies. That's a major tearjerker because not only is the main character's mother, who was supposed to be the most important influence of his life, dead but she died while she was protecting him and she died when he was so young. It makes me sympathetic towards our main character and I cry every time that scene and a few scenes after it occur.

The fact that the 5 dinosaurs that we follow are so young really makes you feel sympathetic when something sad or dangerous happens to them. The ending is by far the best part of this film because they make it to their destination despite hard times. If you're looking for a film that will make you cry tears of sadness or joy, then this prehistoric tale is for you.

The Golden Girls (1985–1992)

An Excellent Show
13 November 2014
This show demonstrates the perfect blend of comedy, drama, and heart. The comedy element makes me smile and laugh every time, from Rose's St. Olaf stories to Sophia's one liners. Even though the humor doesn't get a huge roar of laughter, you can sense that the writers and the actresses take a lot of time and effort to keep the audience amused. The drama element is also very spot on. Whether its something as super harsh as a character wanting to commit suicide or something as simple as an older person developing Alzheimer's disease. They handle it with a seriousness that also comes across as reassuring that things will turn out OK in the end. The heart element is spot on as well. The four main characters, despite their bickering, definitely care about each other like a real life family would. Overall, if you're looking for a show that combines humor, drama, and heart, grab your friends and watch The Golden Girls.

Handy Manny (2006–2013)

A Pretty Decent Show
13 November 2014
I remember when this show first premiered on Playhouse Disney (now called Disney Junior) in 2006. At the time, and also a little bit now, I found it to be one of the most charming cartoons ever. A lot of people have compared it to Bob the Builder and have said that this is a rip off. Not only do I disagree with that statement, but I personally think that this is better than Bob the Builder. Handy Manny teaches preschoolers how to be honest, you should include others, everyone is different, and to ask for help if you really need it. Bob the Builder taught friendship and teamwork. Well, that's all fine and good but the lessons Handy Manny teaches seem much more fleshed out. On top of that, the characters of Handy Manny are much more three dimensional than the characters of Bob the Builder. Their personality traits are present and some of them start out a certain way and then go through a story arc that changes them. Bob the Builder was boring compared to the colorful and three dimensional world of Handy Manny.

It's not terrible but not that great either
23 October 2014
I've seen this movie many times and for the most part, I'd just put it in the "Ok" pile. The only parts I remotely enjoy are the first and third acts. The second act is actually really boring to me. The first act is interesting because it establishes the villain and you actually get a taste of the "heaven" aspect, which is actually rather nice. The third act is where the climax of the movie is and you want to know what will happen to the main character. The second act does have a sort of light hearted element to it, but for the most part nothing exciting happens.

This is a film that I recommend for older viewers, with 12 being the absolute youngest age to be watching it. Mainly because of the villain and the sort of dark elements. The villain is one of the best villains ever simply because he managed to kill off a main character and is willing to make sure the main character stays dead. The dark elements, such as the Hell scene aren't TOO extreme, but children should still be cautious anyway. Overall, it's a decent flick for older kids who wouldn't mind having to sit through a bunch of boring scenes to get to the good parts.

Bubble Guppies (2011–2023)

Very Good Show
7 October 2014
If you want to show your kids a great show that's both very educational and very entertaining, it should definitely be Bubble Guppies. I'm almost going to college and even I like it. Why? Because in my opinion, everything is done perfect. The characters are perfect (both the main and the side ones), the animation is perfect, and the songs are perfect. The characters are just great. They're all very unique and you remember what each of them looks like and what they do. The animation is just beautiful to look at, especially in season 2 and currently season 3. The songs are by far the best elements of the show. The songs discuss what the topic of the episode is and they are memorable. The beat and the lyrics are just so great that I know almost every song. As you can see, I'm just crazy about this show. So if you have kids or your kids have kids, persuade them to watch Bubble Guppies. You and they won't regret it.

This Show is So Funny
16 September 2014
I've seen this show back when it first came out and I loved it. Now it's in its 3rd season and I still loved it. These guys are hilarious and I love all of them. They're always finding new and very creative ways of embarrassing each other for their amusement. They mention several times that they've been best friends since high school. I really felt that. Only best friends will tease each other for fun. For me personally, season 2 was the best. The challenges were fun to watch and the punishments were good too. I have real mixed feelings toward the season 3. It's definitely NOT going downhill. The season 3 challenges seem really short and not as funny as before. Also, the punishments seem a little bit extreme. Overall, I love this show and will continue to love it. As long as the guys remain wonderful as ever.

A Great Flick
16 September 2014
I really enjoyed this movie when I first saw it. I think I laughed at it more than I've laughed at any episodes before it. It's a well executed film in which Spongebob and Patrick embark on an adventure to retrieve King Neptune's crown. It's exciting and you actually want to see them get through their journey. When something dangerous happens, you really feel sorry for them and you pray that things will turn out OK. When something over the top and absurd happens, you giggle at the charm that the situation has. Something else about this film is that rather than just being an adventure flick, it's also a journey of self discovery. Spongebob discovers that you can do anything if you just believe in yourself. All I can really say is see it if you haven't already.

Went From Funny to Mean Spirited!
16 September 2014
As a child, Spongebob was one of my favorite cartoons of all time. And why not? It was well written, well animated, funny, unique, and overall upbeat. The key word here is WAS. I've heard tons of people say that the show went completely downhill after the movie. I agree 100%. I'd be lying if I said that there wasn't a few post movie episodes that I didn't enjoy. For the most part, the show is now completely mean spirited. What do I mean by that? Well, Spongebob has become so annoying that some of the characters actually want to KILL him. Wow, major downfall. In case you didn't already catch on, I have much more complaints about this show now than I ever did in the past. Whenever I see this show on TV, I avoid it unless it's a pre movie episode or unless it's a post movie episode that I tolerate.
