The Sound of 007 (2022)
Interesting to look back on the songs
It was an interesting documentary worth watching. I did think that they spent a little too much time on No Time to Die. It Is a fun watch overall that reminds you that there have been a lot of great songs that came out of the James Bond franchise. Sometimes you forget that songs came from these movies and it is nice to be reminded of them and hear some stories behind them. My biggest criticism would be that they barely mentioned Chris Cornell who did a great job on Casino Royal which I found disrespectful given that he's passed away. Overall though it was worth watching for any James Bond fan, movie fan, or music fan.
The Valet (2022)
Not terrible, but not very funny
Not a terrible movie, but was expecting more given the positive ratings. Really wasn't very funny at all and should not have been as long as it was. Performances were decent but not much of a story and was kind of boring.
Firing Line (1966)
Two different shows
There really should be two separate shows listed as Margot Hoover in no way picked up this show when William F. Buckley retired as it was revived many years after the original show ended and after Buckley has passed away. That all said, Hoover is not a bad host but really no one can compare to Buckley. William Buckley was an incredibly well informed and talented interviewer that spoke with all kinds of different people over multiple decades. Buckley played a significant role in 20th century American history and anyone interested in public affairs should appreciate this program regardless of ideology.
The Toys That Made Us: Star Wars (2017)
Loved the first half
I loved the part about the original movies but I hated how they bashed the prequels, it gets old. All they do is talk about how annoying they thought Jar Jar was and then they skip over episodes 2 and 3. The prequels were a huge part of my childhood and I pretty much got Star Wars toys every Christmas and birthday during that time. A ton of prequel toys were made and I don't know how they can skip that. Lastly, isn't this show kind of about nostalgia? If so, why mention the Disney Star Wars movies at all? The Disney one's aren't old yet and I don't think I'm alone when I say they were unoriginal, simple, and pretty annoying to watch.
Jim Gaffigan: The Pale Tourist (2020)
I always love Jim
For me, these were great. Although you may have a hard time relating to the jokes if you haven't been to Spain or Canada.
