Black Bird (2022)
Someone give Paul Walter Hauser an Oscar!!!
This is an intelligent and interesting story that is added to by the fact that it's based on real events.
The lead cast is excellent, but Paul Walter Hauser's portrayal of Larry is absolutely stunning. His mannerisms, voice and dialogue are truly amazing. I don't think I have seen many actors emitting so much evil in a performance.
It's a big thumbs up from me.
Survivor: A New Era (2021)
Guys - come on !!!
I have always been a huge survivor fan. I've watch all of the American one plus the Australian. This years change of pandering to the minority and changing the phrase that offended virtually nobody (apart from the WOKE generation) sticks in my claw.
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
Slasher, hacker nonsense....
This film is trying too hard to be a stylised 90's slasher throwback. It's from (the only saving grace is some of the music). The story, acting and production of this offers no value in modern film making. I disliked it so much I turned it off. I won't be tuning in for any other parts (sorry Netfix)
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: One World, One People (2021)
It was all going so well....
I really enjoyed this series at the start. It was full on Marvel at its best. Great action scenes from the off. But unfortunately the last episode totally spoilt my experience. Marvel seems hell bent on teaching it's audience about political correctness, race and inclusion. I want to watch a Marvel film for escapism. Not to preached at !!!
Long Way Up (2020)
Fantastic to see the boys on their travels again
Great to see Charlie and Ewan back in the saddle for another adventure. The chemistry between these to guys is enchanting. It just goes to prove that you can make captivating and funny adventure documentaries without having to resort to flashy cars and idiotic humor (take note top gear and the grand tour producers).....
Marvellous (2014)
Simply Marvellous
What a stunning film about an incredible man. Toby Jone is absolutely fantastic in the role. I was almost put off watching it due to the football content, but I'm glad I didn't miss the this truly amazing British film.
Da 5 Bloods (2020)
So bad I turned it off after 30 minutes
I understand Spike Lee's underlining sentiment, but the story is bad and the acting terrible. There aren't many films that make me turn off.... but this is one of them
The Boys (2019)
A really enjoyable series
I put off watching The Boys because I thought it might be a cheap ripoff of the MCU. How wrong was I? I loved this series from start to finish (and now can't wait for the next series). The series is dark and has great special effects. Well done Amazon
Midsommar (2019)
Bizarre in every way...and not in a good way
How does this get a score of 7.8 . It starts off promising but then gets very weird (and not in a good way). The main actress is the star of the show and brings a real depth into her character of someone who is struggling with loss. Once the group get to Sweden it all starts to go down hill from there.
