The Road (I) (2009)

You will be depressed after you watch this!
21 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This has to be one of the most bleak and depressing movies I have ever seen in my life. The night I decided to watch this, I had too much of the gore in The Walking Dead (I love the show but it gets to me sometimes). So, we turn on this movie. Whoa. I am not sure how a movie could be so depressing!

There is not one ray of sunshine in this film. It is so harsh and life is horribly difficult for the characters.

There is a part that is suppose to be uplifting. It's key to the story. However, I did not find it to be at all inspiring. I gave this an 8/10 because you will find that you have to know how it ends. However, you'll be so depressed you won't know what hit you. It's like purgatory on film.

Keep Watching

Warning: Spoilers
I have become a huge fan of this show. I will have to say that I gave Episode 1 a lower rating. I had stopped watching this show because of this episode. It seemed low brow because of the language and it does take time for some people to get use to the amount of gore and violence on the show.

I want to say to anyone that hasn't watched this series. Give it a chance, if the violence seems too much. It's worth it because the story is amazing.

The cast is also part of what makes this show really work well. They did a good job and it is very important to have a good cast for a show like this one. It keeps you interested.

The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary (2014)
Season 5, Episode 1
10/10
Amazingly good.

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this episode about a week ago. The day after it came out. I bought it that day. It exceeded my wildest expectations for a show that is on season 5. The last decade or so, has produced some of the best TV shows ever made. This episode may have raised the bar.

It was really like a mini block buster movie. It carried the story forward but still could stand alone because it had some much suspense, good writing and as always the main cast just did awesome.

It was also nice that they did not drag anything out. There were opportunities to make things last forever. Like when they were in the prison. It was great that they did not do that this time.

I highly recommend that if someone stopped watching this show they go back and catch up. Like I said I'm a fan. I just love this show.

O.B.A.M. Nude (2009)
1/10
I would put this in the top 100 worst movies, maybe even the worst ever made.

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is obviously a very low production value piece. Whatever they spent on this film (more like video tape), they wasted. The story is so bad, so poorly developed I'm not sure how the cast or film makers could hold their heads up to their friends and family.

It's as you can probably tell from the title, a critique on Obama. I noticed that when I Googled it afterwords, I found no support for this movie. Even the lowest political satire sites and individuals did not acknowledge this piece. I'm not going to go into the politics. I think that lack of support is very telling about this film's quality.

Anyway, the film feels like they made it on the fly. With no for thought or planning. The thing is that the concepts in the film are so bad that even if it was made with no planning it's horrible. It completely lacks any real point. The arguments don't work and it's an insult to religion, film making, politics and pretty much everything. They picked what looks like a porn star to be an angel. It has about that much acting ability included. Actually, everything about it is that quality. Except it lacks anything of interest.

Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 2 Contains Spoilers
21 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I am a die hard Walking Dead fan. Certain seasons have been better than others, in my opinion. Season 1 & 2 were the best until Season 5 episode 1 came out. I still really like seasons 3 & 4, but at times they dragged a little.

Okay well, I thought Episode 1 of Season 5 was one of the best episodes of the entire series. This episode had a couple of issues. The story line is okay. I never really have an issue with the concept of the story. I think maybe the Priest character seems a bit 2 dimensional. I guess maybe I don't even understand how he can be a priest. At times he seems seriously flawed. I thought maybe he was posing as one, until I saw the pre-epidemic photo of him as a priest. I think he is no good.

Anyway, I think some of the scenes seemed a little rushed. There is a scene with Rick and Tara that looks like they should have filmed another take. I guess I find that add on group with Tara awkward and they never have seemed to fit in at all. They seem more like actors and the main cast is much more real to me.

It might just be me but I have a feeling they rushed filming on this episode. It definitely took more effort to make Episode 1 of Season 5. Maybe it was the production schedule. I hope it gets better. Aspects of this new concept they are introducing remind me of the movie the Road. That is very sad and depressing movie with some of the same themes as Season 5.
