From (2022)
I think I speak for every horror fan....
We need a second season, and for this to continue. Fresh series, new horror, un-explained terror that hasn't come around in awhile. Worth the investment, kudos to Epix, keep this one going.
As far as the negative reviews go, that's people who, when a storyline isn't straightforward they become confused and cannot cope is my only guess. This is fresh horror and well acted.
Wired Shut (2021)
Poor little rich girl
Entitled rich daughter. Bad Daddy had a bit too much fun and wasn't a good family man at all.
Suspense is good in this one, although it angers me to think about the subject.
A basic f* around and find out suspense flick that IS worth a watch. It could have been better.
Dark Light (2019)
What's with all the negativity?
This movie is much better than all these negative reviews. Watch it for yourself. These bad ratings are from people that don't like these kinds of movies is the only thing I can come up with. I'd rate it a solid 6, but I gave it a 7.
It's a monster movie with decent acting and CGI, and a good story. /shrug.
Busanhaeng (2016)
Busan
Good acting and thrill rides abound in this South Korean zombie-fest. I've seen lots of 10's but I give it an 8.
While zombie movies are done to death, some stand out in the crowd and are actually good movies. Train to Busan is one of those, it stands up over time.
Ku bei (2021)
Mayhem
Well done effective horror. Taiwanese with English subtitles.
If you don't like subtitled movies? It's worth it anyway. Heavy hitting terror film, it doesn't disappoint but strays a bit far into the brutality area.
Not for the faint of heart.
Shining Girls (2022)
Monumental
In episode 6 - "Bright" they start to fold it all together. It takes a very unique twist from the first 5 episodes, but they were also captivating and different.
It reminds me of a great Stephen King novel. We enjoy this show and hope it goes on well like this for a long, long time. Groundbreaking series all the way.
A House on the Bayou (2021)
Toby's Horror
Somewhat unique horror film with cult classic potential, this one starts out typical and cheesy, then takes a sharp turn into unexpected thrills and..spills.
The 6 I gave it was for the devilish ending and the off editing. But horror fans will want to give it a run for the freak value.
I was concerned for Toby. Never come back to the House on the Bayou.
We Need to Do Something (2021)
We Need to Do Something
Promising cult classic, this movie pulls out of the stops.. and then some. Good acting makes it worthy.
Some flashbacks were not needed, but most other scenes intriguing and unique. Premise of the film a joke.
Fresh (2022)
If unique is what you seek...
My wife and I consider ourselves hardcore horror fans, and there were parts of this film that made even us uneasy. It's definitely a fresh idea in horror, although in todays world not unthinkable.
Be careful out there, young people on the dating scene.
Gnaw (2017)
Thank god for microwaves
Movie about little monster that slowly eats away at a woman escaping an abusive relationship.
No woman should have to go through either, and in the end she wins. Although this is no Saturday night gem by any stretch, it's worth a look.
Willy's Wonderland (2021)
What won't Nicholas Cage do?
That's the question in this low budget, poorly produced and directed trash. If you want to watch Cage fight stuffed animals, this is for you. No plot to this at all, no one warned me. I'm here to warn you, keep looking.
A Nicholas Cage fan.
What Lies Below (2020)
Why the negativity on this one?
Starts out slow and soapy, but any true horror fan can't say the final 40 mins or so isn't decent.
The movie is worth a watch I gave it a 7, a bit generous but sometimes I rate to make a point. We enjoyed it.
The Ice Road (2021)
Another Liam score
Good movie, lots of action. Spurned bad reviews because it has an indigenous female playing a good part well. Oh and Liam has a brother with disabilities - bad acting? No. Bad script? No Bad CGI? No.
Good action flick with Liam - there, I fixed it. Watch it for yourself, I gave it a 10 to offset the idiocy, it's about 7.5.
Endangered Species (2021)
Not a great movie, but not that bad
The acting is ok, the.graphics aren't as bad as the haters here. Isabel did a fine job on her first performance like this.
It's not hard to read between the lines to see the reason for the hate. It's a decent movie, keep in mind all the sofa critics are wildly entertained by WWF wrestling and enjoy the show.
Far fetched? Sure, most are. Awful? No, it's not a bad movie.
Mikey (1992)
Early 90s TV movie
If you are looking for a review on this movie, it's like a made for TV movie from the 80s or 90s. Yeah it's old, looks old and plays old. I generously gave it a 4 because it's watchable.
Serial child killer on the loose with electrical appliances that don't have breakers in houses that open circuits...alrighty then. But wait.. there's more.
Things Heard & Seen (2021)
Ghost revenge
Not a bad ghost yarn, not much on the horror but a decent watch. The ending leaves something to be desired, but it's worth a look.
As usual, ignore the ignorant movie critics on here, grab the popcorn and watch a movie.
Afflicted (2013)
Huh?
Derek Lee must have spent his entire opening day box take paying friends to rate this piece of trash.
It's nothing but a waste of time, no plot only garbage.
Trump Card (2020)
Propaganda at its absolute worst
I'd give this film zero stars if I could. A trumpism farce flop of a joke. This "film" is complete garbage.
Truth or Dare (2018)
Limited
No character development at all. Somewhat gruesome and hard to watch at times, but that's about it. Lousy ending.
W lesie dzis nie zasnie nikt (2020)
Horror sleeps in the woods
If Horror is your game, this will not disappoint. It's fairly intense and graphic. Being a horror movie buff I try to catch them all, this one surprised me a little. I didn't expect much, but it was up there. Not on a grand scale, but not a bad effort. It's worth a look.
House of the Witch (2017)
Wait...what?
It's not that bad if you didn't actually spend money on it. There are some moments....simple haunted house, lower budget masterpiece. If you're bored, give it a shot.
Centigrade (2020)
Being generous
Brandon Walsh? Why didn't you dig out right away, instead of that? Don't do that no more. Bleak and sadly stupid.
Rent-a-Pal (2020)
Wasted
If you'd like to watch a disturbed middle aged man who lives in his dementia stricken 72yr old mothers basement, this is for you. The last 20 minutes are the horror/thriller moments, and coming from a seasoned horror movie fan - they aren't much. Lost on this one.
The Vanished (2020)
Good Movie
It's just come down to the point of not trusting any
reviews. The movie is definitely worth a watch. Anne Hesch is great as always... this one leaves you guessing until the end. We enjoyed it.
The Rental (2020)
Decent horror/thriller
This movie is not great by any means, nor does it deserve some of the poor reviews here. It is watchable and has some entertainment value. It takes a little while to get going, then it delivers some good thrills and chills. Not a lot, but enough. And I watch all horror movies.
The reason behind the 1 or 2 star reviews is the fact the movie exposes racism. This automatically causes knee jerk reactions in a portion of our sad society today - perhaps maybe one day when aliens invade earth or some other type of human catastrophe, these types will realize that we are all human beings regardless of race.
The End
