The Ark (2023)
Sci-Fi budgets are really being cutdown a lot, it seems.
I would probably wait till the end of the season to see the last episode and recap only because I saw the first episode and they have shown some elements of timeline branching and timelines colliding in a trailer at the end of the show.
In future, they would have hibernation pods and FTL drives, but cannot go past the simple keyboards and desktop screens, wow!
I am a sucker for the details and there are countless things that lacks them. Even 90s shows had much much better details and CGIs than this show. Even Youtube creators can make better stuff than this for sure.
This is a really POOR show.
Infinite (2021)
Just one question............WHY?
Why would you make a movie with no SOUL in it?
I mean, really, this movie was mad with no heart or soul.
I was so impressed by the trailer thought Damon is really gonna give Tom Cruz and Vin Diesel run for their money. But, this really disappointed me and stuck to the end only to see how those scenes in the trailer plays out in the movie. Really ironic to the substance of the story, the Soul, that the movie itself is with no substance and no Soul, that's the only way to put it.
Lucifer: A Chance at a Happy Ending (2021)
Bad Lucifer Bad!
IMO, one of the most poorly constructed episode of all time.
An opportunity lost.
Lacking details, coherence and soul (no pun intended).
Fans definitely deserved better than what was served to us.
I am writing this vaguely because I don't want to add spoilers here.
5 stars to the happy ending (sort of, minus one casualty).
But, WTF they were thinking when shooting the "WAR"? It seems they used some Undergrad Intern to direct that sequence.
Didn't expect this after such a great season held up well by "The God" himself.
The Witcher (2019)
Only if most episodes were as strong as the first one. Above average, sadly, not that great.
I was hooked with the the first show.
But, as I moved further into the season, it stared to become less compelling and more disappointing.
Cast, Costumes, Locations, sets, etc. are all awesome.
But, storytelling, dialogues and transitions could have been better.
Yes, many might want to compare it to GoT, but, apart from its medieval and fantastical nature, there is nothing to compare about. And things that could be compared are almost already at par with GoT, so that's not the issue at all.
I can actually say this though that what GoT has done with its Season 8 as compared to the whole series, is what the creators of The Witcher have ended up doing to its Season 1.
The Season 1 has definitely took a downhill path from episode 1 to episode 8, IMO.
Carter (2018)
Poor viewer's Castle/Mentalist/Lucifer/......, may be!!!
Not a single original thing, not even the name.
Poor in every aspect.
Don't waste your time.
Watch other stuff instead, like Castle, Mentalist or Lucifer.
Roswell, New Mexico (2019)
A Pretty Teenage Romantic Sci-Fi Drama TURNED INTO Utterly BC (BullC) PC Worshiping Disaster
Yeah you read it right.
It is a load of BullC with misfired - misguided Political Correctness which is so misguided that they forget to include even a SINGLE BLACK person in to there PC BC.
The lovely Teenage Sci-Fi Romance Drama of the turn of the century/millennium is turned into utterly disastrous adult (not sexually) PC wannabe Liberal drama.
But, their characters include only two races, Caucasians & Hispanics. In this perfect PC world of these wannabes, there are no African Americans, American Indians, Indians, Asians or any other racial entities. Hell, majority of victim characters are (as you might have guessed it correctly) hispanics. Apart from wannabe racial PC, they tried to deal with the sexual orientation part as well. Which is no way necessary given the storyline of the original. The actors portraying main characters (that people would have loves from the original series) are so horrible in this remake that you feel no attachment to them whatsoever. You are supposed to love and feel emotional with all 5 main characters i.e. Liz, Max, Isabel, Maria and Michael. And Isabel is now Isobel, I mean WTF? What is the need of doing such a minute change, I mean you have to be a next level degenerate to be that kind of show off.
I am so pissed off the REMAKE that I can't explain my anger in words.
P.S.: No, I am NOT racist or being racist here. In fact, I come from one of the minority communities and that has nothing to do with my impression of this series. I have no problem with someone's sexual orientation as well. I love all human beings irrespective of their affiliations. And no, I didn't compare this NEW series with the OLD one and wrote my review accordingly. In fact, I (binge) watched the original series after watching first 3 episodes of this New series. From the beginning of this series, I felt something hugely OFF and that's why I had decided to go through the original series for the first time (I had never watched the original series before).
Nightflyers (2018)
So, SyFy removes The Expanse, but, brings this?!?!
Can't imagine that this is the work of the Great George R. R. Martin.
But, this is one of his very initial works, so can't blame him either.
As far as the TV show is concerned:
So far, not impressed by the first couple of episodes.
Editing is a mess. Lacks coherence.
Story is kinda too chewed up for todays day and age.
In 1980s, it may be a novelty, but, not anymore.
Don't want to give anything away but, this just seems like a bad mixture of many space movies that we have already seen.
Being a Battlestar, SG, Expanse and GoT fan, I can't rate anything but 2 stars.
To Catch a Smuggler (2012)
Very Poor, Ugly show Compare it to NZ, AU & UK.
This is a really poorly developed show.
Similar show regarding NZ, AU & UK are way better and well executed shows.
This show reveals not only poor movie making skills in every level but, also shows US customs/HSI/Airport Security in poor light.
When you compare it to the NZ show, you think how poor the US Border Security is, at many levels.
1. In all other shows, you will see use of Canines as the best and simplest method to sniff out the people/packages carrying contrabands.
2. The people on other shows are so polite and professional in their attitude. While in the US version, it seems that the only thing the US security personnels are worried about is reaching their target number of catches, sort of. They behave like they are pressured to find out people and they almost prey or beg to the god that whomever they have put in custody will be carrying pallets in their stomach with drugs upon X-rays.
3. The equipment they (US people) use are so poor. I mean who uses traditional medical X-rays to determine the presence of drug ingestion. Look at the NZ, UK & AU shows and you will see full body X-ray machines that are quick and are Theo ones that Security personnel themselves can use them without any assistance of a doc/x-ray technicians.
4. The US/JFK warehouse, baggage unloading area behind the carousel, the mail sorting area, all are so dirty and have poor illumination. Looks so bad.
5. They don't have X-ray machines in check-in baggage unloading area, instead they go to the incoming planes itself carrying a portable x-ray machine to X-ray the baggages.
6. The only thing the US version is good at is to show how unprofessional the US Airport security personnel are.
I am very disappointed with the poor light in which the US personnels are shown.
I mean this is supposed to be the most advance country in the world.
Stargate Origins (2018)
It pains to see that a dream is ruined.
Today on February 15th 2018, I literally, was wondering when will we see shows like Stargate SG1, Atlantis (but not Universe), etc?
And I saw Stargate Origins as one of the new show suggestions, less than an hour later.
Man! I first thought "Wow, God really exists or what?".
But, my curiosity, enthusiasm, praise for life, all went down the drain 3 minutes into the show.
Sets, music, graphics effects, production value, all are pretty much comparable to the original show. But, the cast, the fake accents, acting (particularly the acting), editing, direction, all sucks big time.
They have screwed up with original story as well.
I've still watched all 3 episodes released as of today Feb 15, 2018 and will watch all the episodes.
But, I am really disappointed with such a poor handling of the franchise.
And what's up with 10 minutes episodes?

Gal Gadot is simply amazing. I just love her.
And Since the new season (3) of the show - Fargo, I have become a huge fan of David Thewlis, too. He's as usual, great, too.
There is not a single moment of distraction; your eyes stay glued to the screen the whole time.
I mean, for a standalone superhero movie, this is simply outstanding. And since, there are very few female superhero characters that get their standalone movies, this tops all of them.
I don't see any reason to cut even a single mark for this movie. For me it is 10/10.
Alien: Covenant (2017)
Utterly Predictable, Nonexistent Amazement
If you have watched the trailer of the movie, the score dips down to 5/10 or less.
If you haven't watched the trailer of the Alien: Covenant, you may be able to take your personal rating higher, up to 7/10.
US movie goers can easily avoid the movie. If you aren't planning to watch it in IMAX, you may not be able to hit even a 5/10 for this movie.
SPOILERS AHEAD: The only surprise that I got from this movie, came only after the movie was ended. And that surprise was that there is not even a single surprise in the movie. There is nothing new/unique as far as the story of the movie goes, nothing, a big circle i.e. 0.
If you have watched following things, you will be really disappointed after watching Alien: Covenant
1. Alien: Covenant final trailer.
2. Alien, Aliens and Alien 3 movies.
3. Prometheus (2012).
4. Passangers (2016).
5. Interstellar (2014) (Wondering??? ... Remember the part related to Matt Damon: Mann).
6. 2001: A Space Odyssey
7. Don (2006) (A Bollywood movie starring Shah Rukh Khan. A remake of Amitabh Bachchan starer Don (1978) with a twist at the end. You watch Alien Covenant and you will know what predictable twist I am talking about).
You mix a little bit of all of the above and voila ..... you get Alien: Covenant.
The biggest disappointment is the Trailer of the Alien: Covenant itself. There are very few things that aren't shown in the trailer itself.
You get almost the whole story just by watching the trailer.
And only thing that is not shown in the trailer, is so lame that it can't be called a twist/surprise, too.
I loved Prometheus. But, this one.... Gosh!
P.S: Aren't the crew members supposed to be geniuses/pros in their field (if not more)? (The people who are responsible for >2000 people's lives and future of a whole race in their hands).
Which dumbass would take his ship in to a storm range i.e. ~80kilometers, and then take a dip directly to 40kilometers, just to make the communications little clearer? Even ~80km range was on the edge of a danger and suddenly the guy makes a choice of take a dive to 40km range. At 80km, they had established the communication back. But, at 80km it was not clear. So, instead of trying to go little more in, say at 70km from the surface, all of a sudden he just halves the number and there is no objection from the other two. Wow! Ridley Scott is one of the greatest directors of our age, no doubt. But things like above shows that he made this movie half heartedly and lack of seriousness.
Also, who makes a plan to travel with >2000 people and don't have more than one rescue ships on board?
