Teen Wolf: The Movie (2023)
Stiles and Stydia fans beware
If you're here for Allison/Scallison, I guess you're in the right place. Did I go in expecting to see Stiles? No. Did I expect them to completely destroy and burn every relationship he built in the show? No. Is that what they did? Yes indeed. Look, I have so much love for these characters and the actors, but this movie really was just a nostalgia cash grab with no real substance. The villains were cheap reboots. They sacrificed Stiles, Stydia, Kira, Derek, and the integrity of most of the characters to bring Allison back. There were better ways to save her. Two stars, one for Jackson, one for Greenberg. Otherwise, not worth the watch.
Vampire Academy: Pilot (2022)
Watch out book lovers. Yikes.
If you've read the books, don't bother with this one. Probably worse than the film adaptation in my opinion. The show started at a really bizarre spot, jumping all over the place in a fashion that, even having read the books, was extremely confusing. They chose to leave out some very important plot elements (such as Lissa and Rose being on the run). The shadow bond was introduced very late in the episode and looks like Raven's visions from That's So Raven. Furthermore, Dimitri isn't Russian. Tatiana isn't Queen. Victor Dashkov has some weird relations with Sonya Karp and Mia Rinaldi.
I don't think I can finish this episode, let alone watch the entire season. This show is a cringey mess with no love for the source material. If you're a fan of the books, don't bother watching.
Dated and Related (2022)
Borderline incestuous
I love me some trash tv. THTH, Love Island, I love all that stuff. This show though? Uncomfortable. The further I got the more incestuous things turned. Comments such as "she's just like my sister: they're both fit, warm, kind, and I think that's what attracted me most" or "my type is my brother's personality in a tall, dark, and handsome body" are made. There are challenges involving convincing other teams that you have to go off and do something borderline inappropriate with your sibling. It's just getting weirder and weirder as the episodes go along. This trash tv is just a little too trash for me.
Riverdale: Chapter Seventy-Four: Wicked Little Town (2020)
Bored
Honestly can't keep my attention. Compared to the rest of the season it's slow and fairly useless. Utter filler.
