Oppenheimer (2023)
Full of fillers
The hype was real. I was very excited to watch this movie, only to be disappointed. The screenplay was poor, and some of the dialogues were vague, attempting to appear important. There seems to be a challenge in translating that complex timeline onto the screen from a director's perspective, and unfortunately, Nolan did not succeed in doing so. The scenes failed to capture the gravity or urgency of the situation-the task at hand. By the end of the movie, it remains unclear who truly invented the atomic bomb; however, Oppenheimer's directorial skills seemed more influential than his scientific expertise. The drama of affairs, communism, and excessive smoking was overplayed scene after scene. The only redeeming aspect of the film, in my opinion, was the quantum world CGI effects depicting atoms-a visual element Nolan should consider emphasizing in modern films.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Everything I needed
It feels like such a long time since I watched a good movie. Thankfully, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert came to rescue. It has comedy, politics, love, my favorite martial arts, futurism and much more. Acting is fabulous. Everyone is in their character. I was expecting little craziness, because I knew the director haf directed the Dj Snake, Lil Jon music video Turn Down for what and they did not disappoint.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Based on current events, low budget, poorly executed film
As a hard core Matrix fan, was very dissapointed about overall performance of every aspect of this film. Keanu Reeves acting was awkward. The fighting scenes and the cgi was below par, taking into consideration The Matrix was revolutionary in this aspect. I'm sure everyone was expecting learn how Neo stopped the sentinels in the real world. But we did not get a closure for it. This film will not stay in memory for sure.
Dune (2021)
Doesn't do justice to the imaginative
First, I watched Jodorowsky's Dune, then I read the book. Lastly, I watched Villeneuves'. I think it lacks imagination, capital and screen writing. The director and screen writer had to be creative shooting from scene to scene because the book's Herbert left it to the audience to fill the gaps between time lapses between events and chapters. Clearly Villenensueve did not succeed in it. Overall the casting, cgi and the preparation that went into making it seemed like a low budget, aiming to be a blockbuster. It does not capture the essence of dessert. I will always wonder how Dune would turn out in Jodorowsky's.
eXistenZ (1999)
Get high and watch it.
Existenz was a good one. Combo of matrix, inception and disgusting. The twist at the end and Law's acting carried the movie well.
Tron: Uprising (2012)
A joyful ride
What an amazing show. The plot was incredibly captivating. All of the characters had personality. The fighting scenes were one of a kind. From beginning to the end, show never disappointed. Not having a closure hurt more than, not having a closure when I broke up with my ex.
Aquaman (2018)
Might entertain 5 year old
I had to bear watching this movie because I do not want to miss any details about DC Universe. Besides acting being bad, the action packed scenes keep you immersed. If you are a fan, you can watch it during your spare time.
The Farthest (2017)
Watchable
Documentary is more about the people who worked on the mission and their anecdotes throughout the mission. There is a bit of scientific information that is intriguing. Other than that it is a mid day flick.
One Strange Rock (2018)
Incredible show must watch
A very well written script. Story telling is mesmerizing. It keeps the audiences attention at all times. Learned a lot about our planet and exciting science that should everyone know.
