Black Earth Rising (2018)
High Caliber Production!!!
The cinematography, score, acting, story is all high caliber that I cannot believe this has gotten such low reviews. I started watching not really wanting to and was hooked by the quality that I binged 3 episodes! Have to sleep now.
Sex Education (2019)
Wonderful & Refreshing
The characters and acting along with storyline are wonderful and refreshing! (Tired of murder or hospital shows). I think Netflix hit this one out of the park.
Occupation (2018)
Wish it wasn't so....such a waste
I so enjoy Australian actors. This movie could of been something, but fell miles short of the mark. So many things wrong. I feel so badly for the actors and crew that probably worked hard to make this.... but it came out as just dribble.
Comedians of the World (2019)
Great shows for an uplift and good laughs
I found myself laughing hysterically at some of Nish Kumar's insights/jokes. However the audience was not laughing at all. I think this might be because he was so fast spoken that they didn't catch the nuances of the joke. I watch with subtitles and recommend this to get the fulfillment the comedians so richly give.
I found Mae Martin's routine extremely vulnerable, but intriguing and ultimately funny.
I watched a couple of the US show and look forward to seeing more. With such variety, I'm sure there is something for most people here. I love the format. Thank you Netflix.
La tribu (2018)
Light, Entertaining
Yes, it is outlandish, but just what I wanted! Light, entertaining, and with a bit of substance regarding connection to others. Don't expect much, but I came away with a feeling of satisfaction.
Annabelle Hooper and the Ghosts of Nantucket (2016)
Disappointed by illogical storyline.
I don't understand that Billy goes with the other kids to Silas' house to find out about the Lady in White, then tells them the whole story a day later after they find the hidden bookcase. I know it's a kids movie, but sad that it was so illogical.
