Brand New Cherry Flavor (2021)
Ending was Huge Disappointment
This short series had everything going for it: an interesting premise, a catchy intro, interesting characters, excellent acting, great pacing, great cinematography, terrific set design. But the end is like a kick in the gut. It just leaves almost every loose end...well, loose. It was like the writer pitched the idea, the producer(s) green lighted the project with the understanding that the writer would deliver an ingenious ending that the series deserved, but then the writer couldn't figure out how to bring the story to a climax, so she just threw up her hands, and the studio just released the series as is, with no serious conclusion to the story. It reminds me of the disastrous ending of Man in the High Castle. It just leaves you feeling like the film makers tricked you, got you to watch their product on a false promise of a great story, but in the end, they just stole your time.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Dumb
If you like to see evil triumph and the good defeated, then this film is for you.
The Walking Dead (2010)
Disappointing
I just watched the first 2 episodes of season 1 for the first time to see what made this show so popular. Granted, it might get better in episode 3, but based on what I saw, all I can say is TWD is a dumb show. I mean it's just stupid. A guy (the main character) is in the hospital for a week or two, and the whole country gets overrun by zombies. Why? How? No reasons are even hinted at. And why do the zombies act as they do, i.e., walk around aimlessly and eat people? No clues. The show was not even scary. The zombies are laughable. The non-zombie characters are cardboard. Really. Just save your time for some halfway decent series. Avoid TWD.
The Dead Pool (1988)
Wow! That was lame!
I am sure that Eastwood probably cringes looking back on this stinker.
Searching (2018)
Definitely, the best movie I have seen this year
Wow! Searching is an absolutely terrific, edge-of-your-seat, mystery-thriller, with an original plot, excellent directing and acting, that keeps you guessing until the end. I am still out of breath!
Life (2017)
If You Despise Heroes, Humanity, and the Universe In General, You Willl Love This Movie
I cannot imagine why the writer/director of this movie seems to take pleasure in destroying the movie's astronaut heroes and then whole human race. It's like he is spitting in the viewer's face because they are human, and then laughing at them. What a sadistic bastard. Whatever decent acting, cinematography and special effects there are here are totally wasted. Do yourself a favor, and don't even waste your time seeing it on cable/streaming for free, unless your into mental sadomasochism.
