Skinamarink (2022)
Elementary Art Film
This is more of an art film than a horror movie. If you like experimental films and have patience, this might be the you.
Poor "horror" elements like jump scares, poor visuals, and awful audio that goes from white noise to cartoon music to violently loud noises like crying and beeping.
There's little to no characterization. Slim plot, like non-existent.
The film is just the trailer. Seriously, there's not a lot here. BUT if you are one of those people that likes something leaves the story to your imagination, then you might like it.
It's pretty pretentious, but maybe there's just something I'm missing.
Holes in the Sky: The Sean Miller Story (2021)
Lacks focus and direction
The biggest fault of this movie is that it focuses way too much on the filmmakers, which really skews the focus of this movie. The part where they talk about sad songs is super cringe, and it feels like a vanity project. They don't even describe what the original Sean Miller story was until like a third of the way in. It feels like a student film, not in a good way. The audio is not good. I feel like we saw way too much of the filmmakers for this to be a believable found footage "documentary" film. The video quality is also pretty poor. The acting is poor. The most common voice and face is Ash, who's supposed to be a professional filmmaker/documentarian, which goes against how you make a documentary. This definitely feels like the filmmakers had friends left positive reviews, so the IMBD score is egregiously skewed.
Outer Banks (2020)
Stupid Characters
None of the characters are likable or relatable. They use economic status as a crutch for behavioral issues and never truly explore the characters. The storytelling is hella boring. The actors look like college seniors rather than high school seniors. What is supposed to look like garbage neighborhoods looks like upper middle class housing that most people can't afford. Super unrealistic. This show is nothing like a mature Goonies, it's just rubbish.
