Lost in Space (2018)
Most bad reviewers here are new
Which explains why they give a bad review and bad rating. I suggest that you actually review and rate a series or movie if you have some kinda of an own mind, which you don't seem to have. Otherwise the review would actually have any kind of intel about the series itself, not just empty words, which sound more like a vent for having a bad day, or maybe life.
The series cant be compared to the movie, or I hope not even to the old series from 1965. Its a remakeyes, but with its own character. The casting was done well except the evil part of Dr. Smith. I my eyes you have to hate the character, or dislike it, but always with a little respect or lets say "damn, she is hardcore". But here the character is just annoying to a point of "I want to kill her myself, but she aint worth it". The other characters are fitting and come over as actual real parts in the movie. I do not want a series with actors which I cant relate to or see as "This is how it really could be". They mostly all give me that feeling.
The story is known in its basics and the sries was to me entertaining. Everything visual was great and believeable, not overly done. In fact, I was hoping for more episodes.
All in all its a great series, but do not try to compare it to the past Lost in Space, you can't and nobody should.
Memorial Day (2012)
Not bad, but something wasn't right
While I can see that the movie had in general some good actors and the dialogue was also all decent, the movie had really bad casting for the German soldiers, which actually would have made everything more believable. When telling a true story you need to have everything in it as real as possible. The English actors as German soldiers spoke such broken German, the first thing I thought was, WHY, why save money on that. Would you believe a story when the GI's were Asian looking? Would you believe if they had a Russian accent? No, you would not believe that they were really American soldiers. For that alone, I subtracted 5 stars, simply because it made the movie cheap looking. You can't tell a true story with fake facts.
Zoo (2015)
and the point is?
bad idea, bad story, bad filming, bad using the same animal trying to make it appear like more than one. This series has no point, its like Jurassic Park without the mosquito being the source of all. I rather watch cockroaches eat the earth, because actually it has a story to fall back on. Acting was OK, I do feel sorry for the actors have to read and act to such a bad script. I shall wonder, is this suppose to make me feel bad about visiting a zoo, or having a pet? Maybe the idea of this happening will give me a thought on how to act to the ant in the yard, or how and what I can do to stop wild animal hunting. Well considering I'm only a person who sits at home, trying to be happy with my life, watching this surely will not improve it. Yet some people may say: Everybody can do something, but this is not the story of this series, this is 'TOMATOES GOING WILD' Part 17. The idea was clearly stolen from Jurassic Park, but at least try to get a real story behind it, make us believe it, not just try to scare us with non-sense. Just like in Jurassic Park where we create something and boom it will destroy us. The idea that humans get destroyed by what they destroyed is not a new idea, its common sense, however Jurassic Park had a great entertainment value. This one doesn't.
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014)
The title fits best
What a horrible movie, BUT the title fits best 'The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance', because that is what the viewer received.
The Story shows that Woody Allen Movies still seem to have a comeback, even the acting reminds me of a good Woody Allen Movie, which means, its beyond bad.
Even trying to get into the mood and into the Characters, I struggled with a simple question: What is the point?
So I finished the movie, yet the Story turns, if you call it a turn, into Hello Gabriel, hell even the Movie Michael had a cinematic power line, yet, no.
I still have to say, that I loved the sorry attempt to create a Moment of, lets see, a smile, when I saw the poster of Birdman in the Movie, in the Beginning, and it looked like Keaton in BATMAN. Love that part.
