Interview with the Vampire (2022)
I kept saying, "Seriously! OMG!? WTH!"
I read the book, I watched the movie, then I watched this unimaginable adaptation of squat and bile.
It skims the original idea with a rusty spoon that festered afterwards before it was drawn up on film for audiences to digest. Horrible.
The complete mind bending re-characterization of the characters together with sexual malfeasance, that is so very unnecessary, yet seems to be the direction mediocrity is portrayed in todays Hollywood, make this series a blight to the original and a travesty to the storyline. Avoid like a Chicago riot - may this adaptation be forgotten and rest in piece (forever).
The Boys (2019)
Worthy of a binge watch! You'll remember how good it was long after.
It was one of the most enjoyable shows I have watched in a very long time. Throw out Walking Dead and GOT. The Boys episodes did not fail to deliver every single time - there were no dull episodes, each one was awesome and left you wanting to see the next one. There's deception, corporate politics, espionage, murder, brutality, backstabbing, and, of course, plot twists. Highly recommend.
Iron Sky: The Coming Race (2019)
Surprisingly good, and much better than syfy channel blunders.
I don't typically write reviews but in this movies case it definitely deserves the praise. I really hope the filmmakers pursue other titles and make more movies. The special effects, story line, and even acting are great. Satirical style comedy is great. Highly recommend as a much better alternative to B movie sci-fi flicks that you wind up regretting you've watched.
Wolyn (2016)
Heard stories from Grandparents years ago, then I saw this...
I grew up hearing stories from my grandparents that were from Lwow. Lwow is now part of Ukraine and near the Wolyn area where this movie takes place. Hearing my grandfather saying how he would patrol his village with pitchforks was one thing. Hearing about atrocities committed made you wonder if people are capable of such acts. This movie brought his stories to life in shocking truth and reality.
One item that was also true was that Poles would find more safety with the Nazi oppressors, rather than surrounding Ukrainian neighbors. In fact, one story that was not presented, that may be good to share, is that Germans provided rifles to some polish villages so residents could protect themselves. Incredible movie that shows history that is not at all known in most circles.
I Am Wrath (2016)
Less than two minutes into the movie and I was shocked at the lack of attention to detail.
In the opening credits scene they show a police officer shoot at a motorcyclist. This is within the first two minutes. The pistol used is a Marksman Air Pistol. Not only that, but the safety is on. I'm not even a gun enthusiast but remember this pistol from when I was 12 years old.
A movie with a budget in the millions opted to use a Marksman BB gun pistol as a prop? With the safety visible on? That is just so incredibly ridiculous - who the heck was the prop guy on that one?
The movie has decent acting and plot. However, Travolta looks like he shot up too much Botox or did something to his face. Is is wrong to be 'normal' anymore? Be natural man! Fitness and good food and you'll be good!
Hunter Prey (2010)
An great unknown movie most likely never watched by anyone you know
This movie has great character build up as well as a decent plot. The visual effects are not the type you would see in a prime cinema feature, but this does not in the least spoil the film. In fact, the effects are more 'realistic' and not over the top with Michael Bay style explosions. Where the movie doesn't deliver on special effects, it delivers on acting performance, storyline, and cinematography. Attention to detail is such that you don't notice 'issues' with the background, or errors in time-line; nor do you see things as quirky or unbelievable.
I recommend this movie to any sci-fi buff, as well as those that enjoy a good drama/mystery type flick.
Strange Magic (2015)
Fantastic adaptation of current music combined with amazing animation.
Albeit the underlying storyline is adult in nature, most fairy tales are in the same boat when it comes to how complex they could be. In this one the storyline has to do with a fairy that is cheated on; a love potion is later involved and an adventurous quest ensues. The colors, singing, and awesome animation had my kids fall in love with it. My three and four year old didn't find any characters scary especially when they understood that the 'bog king' was sad because nobody loved him. If you look at other websites they rate Wreck it Ralph for seven year olds, as well as Frozen. This one is just as mild and I recommend it. I'm giving this a 10 our of 10 not only because it is a great children's animation but also because there are so many unfounded negative reviews that need to be offset

Recommended - Substance and not CGI
Good storyline and a historical representation of events that shaped Europe. Most of the actors are excellent in their acting. However, the CGI effects are not on par with a multi-million dollar flick. You need to remember, this was a very low budget movie that actually engages you with a proper story. This movie, for acting and storyline alone, deserves at minimum a 6 rating. It should be seen to allow all to understand the mindset of what the middle east has in store for the rest of the current world. Centuries ago Poland stood up, will it take invasion to open the eyes to the rest of the world? "Misunderstanding of the present grows fatally from the ignorance of the past." Marc Bloch
