Definitely not anything like the earlier part....
11 October 2016
In one word I will say that this movie is Awful. The script was horrible so was both the acting and direction. The new characters introduced in the movie were loosely tied and had no chemistry among themselves. Even worse most of the old characters from the earlier part whom we all liked the most were killed one after another without any logical explanation. At a point of time it felt as if the movie went in a killing spree as all those characters were killed in some way or another. I guess even the Director had no idea what he was doing with such a nonsense script and with all the confusing characters.I am writing this review only because I got so irritated after watching this movie that I wanted to warn others just to stay away from this disgusting movie. It could well be nominated for the most horrible movie of 2016 and easily win by a huge margin. So guys don't waste your time, the trailer is good no doubt but the final product is not only boring but completely makes no sense. I will rate it 1/10 and for time wasting 10/10........

Disgusting Chapter
3 April 2015
There is nothing worth telling about this movie except that it is one of the most disgusting movie I have ever watched. I waited and waited for the movie to pick up some pace and deliver something worth watching but there was nothing except disappointment. To be very frank I didn't like the trailer at all, I decided to watch the movie only after reading a few positive user reviews on IMDb. To my utter disgust it turned out to a complete waste of time. In fact majority of the movie is bald and boring, largely due to some poor acting & amateurish direction. In addition there was nothing scary in this so called 'horror flick' which was the least I expected. Bottom line guys stay away from this movie, save your 87 precious minutes or watch something else. I would like give it a big 0/10 but since there is no such option i vwill rate it 1/10.

Hard to believe what you are watching is not Real....
30 March 2015
Frankly I am very fond of horror movies especially those involving demonic possessions based on true stories. Well 'The Atticus Institute' certainly falls in that genre. The best thing that I liked about this movie was the way in which the story was told, shot more like a documentary, depicting events using recorded footage's. In addition there were certain events in the movie which are based on true stories.

The movie starts at a slow pace but in a unique way uses some of the characters to narrate the incidents that occurred in 1976 at a paranormal institute. This film takes its time to build the tension and suspense but it does so masterfully that in the end you are left wandering what you are watching is not really happening.

A film is only as good as the cast, which made me wonder how difficult it was to play the Judith Winstead's character. But hats off to Rya Kihlstedt (Judith Winstead), she was absolutely marvelous from the beginning to the end. The movie is written and directed by Chris Sparling who also directed movies like Buried. The Atticus Institute also has some really scary scenes with the demonic possession display shot to perfection.

Overall I can say 'The Atticus Institute' is a movie that in a unique way provides a lot of suspense. Initially one can find the movie a bit slow but I can assure you as the movie moves forward it will captivate your imagination making it hard to believe that what you are watching is not real. I really enjoyed watching this movie so will rate it 7/10.

Does not meet the expectations. A complete waste of time....
25 March 2015
I was very excited about this movie when I saw the trailer mainly because of the star cast. Well the movie starts at a decent pace, builds drama and excitement to a certain level. Unfortunately it starts to loose its plot gradually, becomes monotonous with flimsy and poor dialog. Though the movie has some visually stunning scenes shot in ancient Egypt, it fails to combine these with a solid and compelling story. The actors did a pretty decent job but the real highlight of this movie was Christian Bale's acting. I personally felt the movie had a lot of promise but some how missed a few tricks here and there and eventually could not meet the expectations. I would rate this movie 4/10....
