Much better than 2 and 3 episodes. 10 stars because underrated.

Much better than 2 and 3 episodes. 10 stars because underrated. There is some forcing in the storytelling such as the meeting between the two apes but the whole plot is reliable. The storytelling is much more structured against the previous installment and confrontation between humans and apes is more smart. There is dialogues and action. There is the description of the context.... So what the viewer could misunderstand, the subplot. Indeed the subplot is understood by the tale of the King... the viewer don't see during the movie. There are factions between humans and apes and these factions have hard confrontation to avoid one prevails on the other one. So this movie tends to be more smart than previous installments. Awesome the scenography and the description of the apes tribe life with their traditions, habits and costumes. I assume that the direction involved anthropologists... It's am interesting smart movie. If you like only action you couldn't be satisfied, if you like only intellectual movies you cannot be satisfied, if you think to view a movie to spend an interesting time, go for it surely.

it starts stupid. The end has saved this movie.
6 May 2024
It starts stupid and the only positive aspect deals with Mcavoy interpretation. I don't understand how Shyalaman could have done a movie so stupid. Some scenes are very ridiculous... such as when the hero free the kidnapped people or the scene in which they are captured but the worst aspect the viewer could faces relate to the apparent will to make this movie in this way. Why? Someone could ask. In my opinion Shyalaman wanted to end with these characters in order the viewers were annoyed by them. So he made a script so pathetic. The asylum is really silly... the three patients are much more silly in there. Why? No journalists, or process... two arrested people taken directly in the mental facility. Based on what? This movie has no logic. It is stupid. I'll end it to have the answer that Shyalaman was it stupid for the aforementioned reasons.

The end has saved this movie.

very stupid since the 4th episode. (Read until the end)
1 May 2024
It begins well.... a bit stereotyped. The reasons depend on the fact that all appears dark, and all the main characters show problems and issues, there is no other feelings. Here the reason Korean series are much more realistic. In fact Korean storytelling often shows different situations and feelings. They can move from dark to funny moments in confront of the main theme proposed to the viewer. The real problem on US Tv proposals in general is that they are stupid... plots, storytelling, dialogues often are stupid. This kind of stupidity make the cinema proposals unreal. Why this series becomes stupid. In the 4th episode a person apparently killed is just wounded, stands up and free others full of energy. So proud to promote a revolt. Now I'm not interested if many people are idiots to scam because of their idiocy. A smart product is able to interest both smart and stupid people. Another kind of weakness in this series relate to the usual few characters predominant against thousand of people involved in a particular environment, that is a ship in this case. The usual plot and the usual situation in different scenario. The usual intrigue in which the viewer is persuaded to see the series just for the enigma. Curiosity is sign of absence of idea, of absence in courage.

In the end also the silly behaviors try an explanation. It's a pity there has not been a sequel.

German series at least on netflix tends to be stupid.

There is no way, German series at least on Netflix tends to be stupid. This series begins well, then it lapses into idiocy in order to follow the usual plot. Two people get an object many criminals want surviving to many perils in several trivial ways. In the most unlikely ways, other 2 people try to escape other criminals which want their vengeance. Just to understand: imagine a city where hundreds of villains search for 2 people and just the two leaders meet them casually for unreliable reasons annoyed because of unsatisfying results in the search. Unbelievable. One of the protagonist always understand the real intentions of his opponents... What absurdity.

A masterpiece: 10 stars, but pay attention to the subject of the story evaluation.
8 April 2024
Storyline: 10;

storytelling: 10;

interpretation: 10 (just Sumner recitation is barely sufficient indeed his expressions are rather stereotyped);

dialogues: 10;

locations: 10;

scenography: 10;

cinematography: 10;

costumes: 10;

directing: 10:

subject of the romance from whom the story is taken: 0.... (too cynical).

One of the best series ever by one of the greatest screenwriter, I've never known until the vision of the episodes I was curious to deepen. This series analyses the psychology of the characters very well helped by a masterful interpretation provided by the actors. The directing is terrific making great every detail. The history rebuilt of the scene is perfect. Every scene tries to get the right pace based on the specific situation. This series is able to make evident the psychology of the protagonist: unable to accept himself in a society unable to accept the diversity escaping from it by material richness. The frustration to be loved in his natural authenticity make him the double of himself unable to be real.

A rare gem from Netflix.

the first 3 installments are good the fourth is unwatchable
20 March 2024
The omnipresent charlie, what a dumb name for a child, some trivial behavior, the same stupid expression of the protagonist don't waste the first 3 installments of this miniseries, but the forth one compromises all the good storytelling makes interesting the story. Now, it often happens that the last episode provides this nasty effect and I think that the last episode, beside to be risolutive should be particularly carefully considered. The cause of the mess happens when the real nature of a story is empty but only based on curiosity. The same trick on which the movie management think that viewers are idiots to scam. A bad behavior. The last episode id full of triviality and holes.

10 stars until the 14th episode... then the mess starts.
22 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
10 stars until the 14th episode... then the mess starts. This series has an excellent storyline and screenplay, where serious events are alternated to hilarious moments. Good the characters and the actors playing them The storytelling except for some forced circumstances such as the casual meeting between Moon Young and the hungry husband seems to get the high point matching the several aspects the plot has to develop... but it fail when the main event must be managed making it trivial. The hero who promises to defend the maiden become so stupid and unreal to allow a psychopath to kill her. Why? He knows that his mother was brutally killed by her without any regret for stupid reasons. Here where all the beauty of the series is wasted. In the same moment the girl who is assumed to be far away appears magically, the narcotized brother wakes up magically in order to assure an happy ending. Ridiculous.

The real problem: too low budget for an epic movie.
27 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The real problem: too low budget for an epic movie. However, if this film had been one of the Star Wars saga would have got a higher rate by viewers just for the franchise since some Star wars episode directed by Abrams are equivalent in mediocrity.

So what about this movie. The first episode begins well. Excellent screenplay and choreography but problems begins just after the first confrontation. So the plot starts to show the first weakness in dialogue and script.

What is wrong:

1) facts happen too fast;

2) events follow a precise scheme;

3) every time a member of the group is added, it is involved in dangerous action; the motivation they chose to join the group are weak;

4) the fellowship discover the rebel position in a way so simple that the evil empire provided of superior means should have got long before;

5) the leader of the rebels motivates the decision to help the crew by trivial justifications, as an oblige to not abandon a community needing help but so abandoning the people from which they got protection knowing that the evil empire would have got them;

6) rebel team is numerically scarce;

7) it's enough a spear to destroy an enemy vessel (ridiculous);

8) the way the trapped mates escape is ridiculous;

9) huge scenarios and few characters;

The whole idea is good but it needed much more resources to be realized as it deserved. So the result is a mediocre movie.

It's not a drama, it's a soap opera made for stupid people, It's all based on absurd coincidences.
5 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The plot is so unreal that only an idiot can like this series. It begins well, but then the relationship among all the individuals involved makes it unreal and absurd, as well as trivial. I try to explain by some example. The son of the accused who committed suicide, because of the father of the nephew who is actually the son... the twin who is a blackmail witness from the rector of the university in complicity with the professor who was a prosecutor... whose prosecutor is the twin's teacher, who in a book in the possession of her twin sister which intended to resell..., she had placed a letter for the prosecutor, now a professor of criminal law in the course attended by the twin, who should be the same age as the twin sister who did not have the age to enroll in university... while was trying to resell her twin sister's books in which she had met the same boy she will meet in her university course to whom she sold the books of her sister where ther is a letter. She had never read although she had been worried for her sister.

Ahahahahahah. How stupid can the script of this series be?

To develop a similar plot, the screenwriter must have taken lysergic substances.

What make beautiful Korean drama is realism... even if the event could be extreme, it fit in the reality.

This series is made to propose a sequence of emotional absurd events just to get easy emotions from the viewer. In this case the storyteller acts as a drug dealer. A story that needs to involve just emotional sphere by continue surprises becomes absurd and stupid.

I stood until the 6th episode. Then, I was no more able to bear any other stupidity.
19 November 2023
The general idea is good but the making is very mediocre. It's really strange. One of the most stupid series ever realized from Korea. Normally, all Korean series are really awesome in storytelling, plot, direction but it is a mess in this one. Now image a shooting inside an apartment surrounded by many others from a secret authority claiming to avoid to draw attention...😂 ridiculous. It's just an example to understand how stupid could be the direction of this series. Now image the run away from a party where an help happens from nowhere by other character present in a previous different context, without any relation with that precise context..😂. Just 2 of many absurdities a viewer is forced to bear. In my opinion the mistake deals with the budget used for 16 poor episodes instead of 8 good episodes.

Midnight Mass (2021)

10 stars until the last 2 episodes
10 October 2023
This series starts well because it deals with deep themes in a horror scenario, but I guess the storyteller and director didn't know how to end it. So, the problems begin to happen. The midnight mass is rather a mess. People in the church seem idiots. They see someone and no one understand the reality of that "thing". They seem hypnotized. Then dialogues. Dialogues become stupid, childish, not logical against the situation. All seems forced. The dialogue between the woman and the bishop in the church is pathetic. The revelation: it's a soap opera, made even more stupid by the usual scoop. People begins to be overwhelmed in a specific order. The plot decades to stupidity. View until the 5th episode and don't waste time with the last 2 ones.

missed a big occasion
2 September 2023
Nolan missed a big occasion to talk about scientific approach to the event of that historical period. He describes a character involved in his personal limits in which the making of the bomb is just an excuse for portrait sexual behavior, intrigues, duels, betrayals.... and so on. The movie talks about Oppenhaier but doesn't face the scientific study that led to the realization of the bomb. Dialogues are often uselessly emphasized in constant search for the pace. So, relationship, dialogues, scenes seem full of exaggerations at the expense of the scientific argument. Some actors seem don't fit the character.... look at Matt Damon interpretation. He looks too much rigid in many scenes.

Mediocre in every way. Weak storytelling. It seems to view a video game.

It's a pity because the previous installments were really good above all in storytelling where the whole plan had the prominence and the action was in support to it. Many secondary characters are out of context and their story is underrated. It seems to attend to several pieces set together in a forced way to get coherence. As Gabriel character I would have preferred Eric Stoltz able to provide the right elegant and dark aura. Too many coincidences ans scenes portrayed in bad way. Enemies are always overwhelmed in easy way such as just Hunt and his mates were able in action. It seems rather absurd. How the enemy could fear is a mystery. A movie to see just to understand that it's just based on a sum of action scenes.

it's a good series but sometimes some scenes are far stupid. Last episode almost mediocre.
16 June 2023
The series is good until the 7th episode, however, some parts of the storytelling are trivial enough. Some examples:

the boys are running away without asking help in a scene;

one of the means of the boys goes faulty and the other protagonist makes nothing to approach the others in order to simplify their escape;

However the plot in general has a strong structure and a good narration at least until 7th episode.

There are many fights which are cruel enough. Some kind of excessive kindness inexplicable in cruel moments which degrades in servility also against villains. In this case the characters seem too much stereotyped unable to change their attitude.

Last episode is sufficient if not mediocre. Just as example: a villain could kill a kidnapped person although wounded but escapes suddenly albeit has the time to kill him. This example highlights a poor script. Indeed, it seems that the story is based on forced circumstances and forced happy moments. Also the involvement of a minor character in the fight seems out of context.

Moreover, last episode suffers a storytelling rather simplified such as the introduction of some sporadic funny moments and funny character as well, which contrast with the brutal context.

I believe that this series deserves a sequel but improving the quality.

One of the best sci-fi movie ever. Don't be influenced by negative reviews.
3 June 2023
Don't look at the negative reviews because they reflect the action movies devoid of meaning. This movie is not only about action and fights but also about life and feelings. So, viewers used to like action movies which provide continuous emotions cannot understand and value the story of this movie, because they are too addicted by stupidity to understand. There is action, but not only action. It's a beautiful plot and story which is worth to be viewed. At the beginning I though it was about the usual super human which fights without any opponent is able to stop it, but then, it is apparent that the story is more significant than a simple combat movie.

Awesome in every way.... but last episode
22 May 2023
There are some little issue, but this series is astonishing in every sense.

Strong plot, amazing directing and storytelling, reliable character, good acting. Sometimes story languishes in psychodrama, so a tearful event is soon after followed by other tearful events. Anyway, the events narrated are great. Judged try to interpret the reality of the specific facts matching different pieces of information as a mosaic in order to be objective and right the most. The directing is amazing because any crucial event is developed by past explanatory situations which gradually define the overall framework. An innovative aspect of this series is that the crime scenarios change with the information obtained. It is brilliant.

Korean movies and Korean series as well have the merit to avoid strong emotional inputs pointing on the plot.

EDIT: although the good job in the penultimate episode, stupidly ruined but the the introduction of a "mother" character, the last episode is extremely exaggerated incoherent and deficient.

yeah it is not perfect but the plot is awesome, but the last episode
8 May 2023
I'm going to finish to see this series and after some doubts above all dealing with dialogues and some strange plot choices that have an explanation in any case, I can say that the plot in general is astonishing moving the characters like pieces of a complicated puzzle. What I think this show misses is the right amount of financial resources to get better results. Some choices about the actors which play the several character is questionable. The evil character is interpreted perfectly, unlike the good character of which I would have prefer it was played by Da-hyun Kim . Indeed my preferred character is Seol. I know about the several complains but the series is worth to be watched due to the storytelling, although the dialogues appear rather childish in some circumstances. As example, the way the villain uses to trap his opponent toward the end is amazing.

Final thought: last episode confirms the lack of courage many writers have above all in cinema environment providing the usual formula: change everything to change nothing. In my opinion this story would have been a masterpiece whether the main character was died in the 14th episode, whether two of his mates were killed in the following episodes, whether the main villain was seemingly victorious and the final entrance of a new opponent had prefigured a sequel. As example Seol. From 9 stars to 6 stars.

stupid in many ways... it seems good since the 8th season. Last episode compromises all the imrpvements.
28 February 2023
This series begins well but following the first seasons the issues begin.

1) the characters are too much stereotyped. All characters are united by arrogance. If initially they are not arrogant surely become arrogant per imitation; 2) relationship: the model of relationship proposed is based on the logic master/servant. Servants are so lackey that they base their relationship on the mellifluous subordination to their master; 3) narrative: although the scenario changes the situations are the same. What seemingly changes is the opponents but everything stays the same at the end following the usual rule: to change everything to change nothing; 4) the usual narration in which the most arrogant always win. There is no possibility he is defeated because otherwise the protagonists would seem weak; 5) the characters are not professional in working and relationship- It seems to see a stupid soap opera.

So, this series falling into pathetic.

EDIT: I have started to like the show since the 8th season, just after Mike Ross character left. Also 5th season seems good unlike latest episodes of it. Provisional verdict: From 1 star to 6 stars. The main improvement is the increasing in importance of the several characters. Previous seasons were often based on the Specter/Ross interaction unlike the 8th season where all the characters assumes importance. The departure of Ross character has been a good event improving the plot.

EDIT bis: unfortunately the latest episode compromises all the improvements got since the 8th season. It seemed that the new opponent would have given credibility to the absence of professionalism... however the soap opera criteria has prevailed on a plot which had huge potentiality.

too many stupid coincidences and absurdities have ruined completely this series
29 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Assuming that choreography, scenography and dialogues are good as of a scene in the fourth episode makes the plot totally absurd and dumb. An elder going to die is liberated for no apparent reason, and arrives just where a boy is chased by a horde of Orks to save him just when his mother also arrives in that precise moment and areas in a huge forest. It's absurd as well as stupid. All the goodness made before vanished by this trivial moment. I don't understand as both director and writer didn't understand this absurdity. I was so disappointed to decide to avoid any further episode of this series.

Another mistake: the heroes are always lucky, brave, winning. How that scene should have been directed: the boy is captured and the sword is.delivered to the Ork's leader. The heroes discover the fact trying to make free the boy, or, the boy is captured and killed. The usual invulnerability of the good ones is pathetic and makes the tale unreal.

This series is excellent for a narrative innovation... but...
15 August 2022
One of the reason many series are defective deals with just the main characters are in relationship generating a closed system where the situation changes but the protagonists unlike this series. Indeed, also the supporting actors and extras assume relevance in the expanse. But... the relationship system stays partially closed in fact the protagonists seem have no other relationship beyond themselves.

Another relevant feature of this series is that it is smart analyzing he situation from different point of view: political, militar, scientific, tactical, strategical... a bit less civil.

Strait has to improve in recitation. Sometimes his reaction appears out of context.

A further issue: too many useless and pathetic blablablabla in action.

First season: 9 stars albeit the last episode seems to suffer some limitation in the plot.

Second season: 5 stars, since the first episodes are rather trivial and the latest ones characterized by a plot rather mediocre;

Third season: 4;

Fourth season: 3;

Fifth season: 10;

Sixth season: 1.

Directing is good but too many absurdities. Just for an example. The protagonist is reached by an helper that fly in Europe from USA in less than 10 minutes before the attacker defeats him in that precise place, justifying her presence in a trivial way just because her presence was so absurd.

Another absurdity: the villains attack an house from the outside bottom up, but their bullets hit the lower part of the first floor of the house. The only way that is possible is to fire from the front or from above.

This movie is good for 3/4 of its plot but then becomes unreal. The protagonists meet themselves accidentally into a huge area just to for surviving purpose of the plot. If the the screenplay had considered the possibility the protagonists had planned the incursion in the base, the ending would have been much more raealistic.
