Should Stay Secret
28 March 2024
Clearly Nicholas Ray was "trying stuff out" that would later evolve into the distinctive style of 'Rebel Without A Cause', 'In A Lonely Place' et al. Just his second film - his first the much more straightforward They Drive By Night. But this film is a shambles. The camerawork is so bad its often unintentionally hilarious, some of the performances so over the top its a wonder there's any scenery left to chew, and the plot is garbled and incoherent. Given the talent involved (it really is an A list cast and crew on paper) this is a truly terrible film - frankly its a miracle he ever worked again!

What A Waste.
27 December 2022
Waste of a good cast. Waste of whatever the bloated budget must have been. But most of all a waste of over three hours (and eight minutes) of your life you'll never get back.

This film steals from countless other films to no effect and throws in a bunch of soft porn in the hope we'll be distracted enough to realise there's no original story in there.

Ultimately the whole "this is a love letter to cinema" feels more like a cynical device than an act of sincerity - there really isn't any "There" there with this film and it feels like a massive waste of everyone's time.

Bloated. Clichéd. Utterly pointless.

Who Knew?

I had no idea there were Kiwis in the German Nazi party!

The things you learn from rubbish horror films... Not a serious contender for anything.

Reviews on here describing this as good or scary really need to see a few more well-made films!

Dogs Breakfast

What a mess. For haters of the first one they really have much more to complain about with this pig's ear of a film. Literally everything about this film is all over the place. Makes the first one look like a small piece of genius.

Marvel's Xmas Turkey
27 November 2021
The TV spin-offs were always going to be a mixed bag: WandaVision was actually a promising start and at least tried to do something with the format but there's been a law of diminishing returns since (with the odd moment in Loki). But boy have we reached the bottom of the barrel now. There's really no excuse and it's hard to know what they were thinking. Probably aiming for the ten year olds too young to have seen the good films - but I can't see anyone of any age sticking with the MCU after watching this first. Painful.

Utter rubbish
10 October 2021
The story of the Premier League is most definitely not just the story of Man United (quite the opposite). Slanted nonsense with zero perspective. A teal missed opportunity. Rubbish.

Not even bad enough to be ironic
21 May 2021
Is it now safe to admit that Zack Snyder has officially lost the plot? This is clearly a very high budget film that is utterly rubbish - the plot doesn't hang together, there isn't a single character developed enough to care about and there is absolute zero tension. This film sucks. And blows. And plays like a film that cost nothing. Total disgrace. Anyone giving this a ten needs to go watch Train to Busan, 28 Days Later....frankly almost any other zombie film is better than this one. One star is flattering this rubbish.

Iconic, Unwatchable
12 May 2021
A film with almost mythic status as a feminist dystopian classic. Obviously the point is the politics but as a film its horrible. A cut-up of fake TV news coverage and documentary performance clearly improvised by a non-professional cast. Like finding yourself accidentally trapped in an argument you have no interest in. Fine if your burning interest is 1980's feminist agit-prop. Otherwise a complete waste of time.

Just A Mess
21 March 2021
If you empty the bins of the editing suites of every music film for the last twenty years, put it in a blender with Irvine Welsh's last few terrible books, this is what you end up with. It's a terrible shame as theres a legitimate story to be told and some very good actors wasted (and Nick Moran should definitely stick to acting - his Malcolm McLaren impression is superb but truly he couldn't direct traffic). This film is a mess: a horrible cliche soup of strung-together anecdotes and derivative snapshots with no structure or shape. Does for Creation Records what 'Cats' did for cats.

Charmless
24 January 2021
Attempt at a low-key "Autumn Romance" ultimately falls flat thanks to charmless characters, a complete absence of humour, a dull script and some genuinely excruciating moments.

Obviously all a bit much for the mouth-breathers on here but don't listen to the dissent - this is smart, well-written, well-acted and subtle comedy (clearly a bit TOO subtle for some). Maisie Williams goes from strength to strength.

Not just the worst film of 2019...
30 December 2019
...this is the worst film of the 21st century. Every single person involved should be thoroughly ashamed and every famous actor deserves to see their market value take at least a 40% hit in their earning potential. What on earth were they all thinking? This is a dog of a film.

Laughably awful.
8 December 2019
It seems mind-boggling that with all the money apparently swamping Netflix that something so unspeakably bad and transparently no-budget makes it through. The appalling production values are so bad you spend some time wondering if this is some clever post-modern -take - it's not, it's just rubbish. Literally everything about this series sucks - and not in the right way. Any review on here written by someone claiming to like it is either written by a relative of the cast or an employee of the production co. Avoid at all cost.

Don't bother. Simple as that. Just rubbish. Episode 1 promises something that is never delivered...it's all downhill from there.
