Kamen raidâ Zetto Ô (1993)
Go, ZO!
After the failure of Shin Kamen Rider in 1992, Toei Co. Ltd. decided to return back to the famous hero's roots with their next Kamen Rider film, Kamen Rider ZO. The movie follows the traditional formula of previous Kamen Riders well with an added twist: ZO has to play a T-100 from Terminator 2 type of role.
Cons: The movie is a tad short and tends to rush itself, as with all Toei movies during this time. The claymation fight sequence is poor. Pointless J-Pop song in the middle of the film.
Pros: Well-staged live-action fight sequences. Catchy music. A nice and compact plot. Acting is pretty good. Great costume design (although they look a bit similar to the live action US Guyver film, save for ZO)
It's a film worth seeing, in my honest opinion. Fans will dig this and this is probably one of the best movies to watch to get a guy or girl into Kamen Rider.

Gojira (1954)
Even better in Japanese!
The movie that started it all rightfully deserves to be called a classic. The characters have great development and the special effects, for the time, are really well done. Critics, unfortunately, look at the special effects when watching the Rialto re-release and expect SPFX up to the standards of the 1953 version of War of the Worlds. This movie had a limited budget because at the very same time, they were shooting Seven Samurai. I thought the American version was good, but when I saw the Japanese version at last, it was a completely different experience. The characters were more alive and the extra footage made the film make more sense. After this, 27 sequels followed. Some good, some bad. All of them would not have been possible without this milestone in movie monster cinema. It's not my personal favorite, but whenever I get my next chance, I will see it again.
