The Day Time Ended (1979)
Not That Bad and I Have Seen WORSE.
Considering the actors are giving it their all here, it's really not that awful. Yes, incoherent and drags in places, but you've got the dad from the primetime soap Dallas, the mom from equally soapy 1960s Peyton Place, William Shatner's ex wife, Robert Mitchum's son, and that little girl from 1977's Kingdom of the Spiders (who, sidenote, played the daughter of Marcy Lafferty in that one, too). All that talent alone is worth watching how they gamely trudge through this. Have some popcorn and enjoy the unintentional laughs.
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006)
Shake and Bake, Baby!
Oh Dear God I have never laughed so hard.
If you have kids that throw your dad's war medals in the river, you won't find this funny. Otherwise, it is a laugh riot! My wife and I loved every single minute of this movie, and I will recommend this movie to anyone who loves NASCAR or not. It's not about the driving, it's about the comic genius that is Will Ferrell. Where else are you going to find grace that lasts for 15 minutes, a cougar in a Chevelle, and "A Mighty Wind's" Jane Lynch laying down some "Granny Law" This has GOT to be seen to be appreciated!
Thank you Baby Jesus. RD
The North Avenue Irregulars (1979)
Church Ladies Takin' Out the Trash!
How can you go wrong with Edward Herrmann sending out the women from his church to take down a nasty gambling ring?? I wanted, BEGGED, my mom to go and buy a Ford Country Squire station wagon like 'Kitty Car' drove so we could take all my friends and go fight crime! ( I was 6). I loved this movie then and I love it NOW.
Where else are you going to find great car chases, going wrong way on one-way streets, cars staring down trains, and animals overtaking a an intersection? And for good measure, let's throw in Ruth Buzzi, Cloris Leachman with matching poodle, and the infamous Patsy Kelly!
Go, Disney, go!! 8 out of 10 stars!
