Rarity: Retro Video Game Collecting in the Modern Era (2021)
Very nostalgic
I really enjoyed this documentary about the video game industry. As a child who grew up in the 80s/90s spending all my free time playing Nintendo and later sega- this was a really fun walk down memory lane. I really sympathized with all of the collectors and liked the different viewpoints and styles of collecting. Made me want to go home and hookup my N64, which is the oldest system i still own lol.
Bearry (2021)
Fun movie that doesn't take itself too serious
I enjoyed this film that was part rom-com and part slasher. I enjoyed see the film go back and forth seamlessly between the two genres. The soundtrack was perfect and truly captured the correct mood from moment to moment and switched to enhance the tone.
The Paraseekers: Charlie's House (2018)
Felt real
I liked the team and they were very convincing. They went about investigating that was different then all the other shows out there. I did not know this was part of a series and will check out other installments.
Starfish (2017)
a Nice independent moving film
This was a beautiful film. No spoilers-I liked the characters and enjoyed the journey that the lead went on after she is forced to face her decisions and move on.
Intrusion (2015)
Fun low budget thriller/ horror
I stumbled upon this film looking for an easy to watch horror film and thats exactly what I got. It is a very typical low budget horror that anyone who is a fan of the genre would expect. Solid opening with a few good scenes along the way to a powerful ending. If you enjoy the genre you will enjoy intrusion.
The Best Laid Plans (2019)
A fun ride and easy watch
I enjoyed this movie as a whole. I really liked the characters and the way they played off of each other. It was also nice to see Linnea Quigley again, I loved her in the 80s horror movies:)
Purdah (2018)
Really powerful and touching documentary
I really enjoyed the culture trip. I was not very familiar with the way of life in that community and I thoroughly enjoyed what the filmmakers taught us from a visual and storytelling viewpoint. I knew women were not treated equally but have never seen such a great example of how they can overcome adversity. Very powerful and touching film.
Undrafted (2016)
Hard to watch
I turned this on mistaking it for another baseball movie from the same year with Tyler Yoechlin in it "Everybody Wants Some". I heard good things about that film and absolutely love baseball and baseball films. Unfortunately this was not what i was hoping for. I kept waiting for it to get better and it just never did. The "Coach" Ty was the worst, He was so angry and aggressive and like an obnoxious cartoon. Totally unrealistic and cheesy
Our Friend Jon (2020)
A Really Heartfelt film
I was blown away by the emotion that this documentary conveyed. I really enjoyed how it was like a making of as well as a good story. It was a really nice touch that they showed the short film at the end.
