Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)

Good fun and worth watching
6 March 2023
Don't let the Trekkies put you off. It's a fun show, with good visuals and it's interesting to see what the old cast look like now.

Don't expect sheakspearian dialogue and just let yourself switch off for 40 odd mins.

Not sure why it gets such bad reviews, it's a bit like the new Lord of the Rings TV show. Brilliant TV but lower than average reviews. Again, attributed to diehard fans who probably had to gouge their eyes out whilst wearing their costumes.

Anyway, as a non die hard trekkie and sci fi enthusiast, I am enjoying it, especially season 3 and rate this at a solid 8.

I do feel sorry for the die hard fans, they will never be able to enjoy a new Star trek show on TV, because nothing is ever going to be good enough for them, while at the same time appealing to the greatest audience, which is where the money comes from sadly.

Truly fantastic and original

This has to be one of the best TV shows I have watched in years. Really impressed with the acting, storyline and suspense. Reminds me a bit of the feeling I got watching 'Lost' all those years ago. Cannot wait for season 2!

What a great science fiction show
27 September 2021
I love science fiction. I've not read any Asimov, and I've no inclination to. From the reviews I've read, it's mainly Asimov fans who can't deal with the show. Has anyone ever said, "The film was much better than the book!"? No. Face it, if you love the book that much, why watch the TV show? The key words here are ADAPTATION, BASED ON.

So from someone who has never read the books I found it very good to watch. Loved the style, the premise and the characters. After one episode I'm very much looking forward to investing my time in this show. Well done.

Alright

Nice to catch up with the crews during the off season. Interesting seeing how much effort it takes to find a site. Enjoyed seeing Dave back in the show and I think it's good to see Dustin bundled into the series. As annoying as he is.

Like all Gold Rush shows, it was full of staged scenes and fake emergencies. But if you've watched the show, you'll be able to ignore the rubbish and watch it for the good stuff.

Really?!

Warning: Spoilers
'The Core' vs 'Snakes on a Plane' terrible!! Such a poor way of finishing a brilliant 9 episodes. Why not fly the shuttle into space? Durr. At least I can say that I've never before watched 9 hours of show for the last hour to be absolutely dire. Well done.

Worth watching for the angry old woman!

Surprised this has such a low rating. Granted its not an 8.0 or 9.0 film but its a solid 7 in my book. I'd rather watch this than some of the tripe coming out of Netflix and Sky movies. I think sometimes its better to watch the film first rather than read the rating.

Wasn't sure Mcbride could pull it off again.

Not sure if Danny was going to be able to top Vice Principles and Eastbound and Down. Its good, although I had reservations after episode 1. But thankfully it gets better and although not gut wrenching funny as Eastbound, its still good.

Another Mcbride Classic!

Not quite up there with Eastbound and Down but very very funny and well put together. Walter Goggins is tremendous. Ill now watch anything with Danny Mcbride in!

April is soooo hot!

This is undeniably the funniest TV show I've ever watched. The show combines a little slap stick comedy with cringing rudeness and crudeness. Especially towards Stevie Janowski. However by the end of the last season you really do feel connected to Kenny and his emotional roller coaster life. Both my wife and myself enjoyed this show immensely. Dont forget about Vice Principles and Righteous Gemstones. Both very very funny but not quite up to Eastbound and Down quality.

Loud and unintelligible

Far too loud and couldn't understand the dialog. Definitely not Nolans best work.

Season 1 only

Score for season 1 only. Avoid season 2 and 3. First season was gripping and spectacular. Could have watched this for hour after hour. Dont ruin the experience with season 2 and 3. Such a shame.
