Why?
23 December 2021
That's all I have to ask: Why? This was an aggressively mediocre movie that did not progress much of anything or leave much of an impression on me. Movie studios throwing in the actual solid original movies into a blender and releasing whatever edit comes from that into theatres would be less of a slap to the face than this 10th attempt of recapturing/mimicking superior classics.

Sorry if you all came for cuisine
24 May 2021
I'm not quite sure why expectations for this film that serious; it's *zombie heist film in Vegas* and it knows exactly what sort of film it is, so why complain to the fast-food joint, about the liberty it takes to make every meal as fast and colourful for it to be enjoyed in a casual sitting, to be more like vanilla cuisine.

Seriously, it's azombie heist film and a little too many people are writing full blown essays and novels to nitpick plot points, that one annoying character (which the movie isn't telling you to like, she's the daughter of the main character, of course she's not gonna be perceived as a petulance) and their tired and persistant disdain of Zack Snyder.

All in all, my main point in this is that AotD is just a fun ride that doesn't take itself too seriously and the people with nothing better to do such probably just watch things they like rather than review bombing movies from a director that has a very cemented style...

Again, zombie heist film, hardly trying to win an Oscar...

A completely fine family film
22 October 2020
I was surprised to the reaction to this film... It's completely inoffensive and does everything it needs to with the charm of grandma, the malice of the Grand High Witch, etc. I'm getting the feeling that these are reactionary responses to yet another 'bland and unoriginal Hollywood' trend even though this is an adaptation of Roald Dahl's book, just like the 1990 version is.

It's alright if people don't like this movie I suppose but acting like it's the worst thing to come to screens is an exaggeration to say the least. Kids are most definitely going to enjoy it, it is for them after all, not the adults comparing it to the 1990 adaptation, so I'd say this film was a success in what if wanted to do.

Pretty Good

I didn't expect to like this film as much as I did. Didn't expect to be below average or anything from the trailers but pretty much everything is solid. The action's great, the characters are pretty convincing (Nicky and Joe were the heart of and that one scene with Booker is probably a stand-out)

The only gripe I have off of the top of my head is the song choices, it's just terrible and doesn't fit the R-rated violence and themes of the story. Teen pop music doesn't really belong to movies like these.

I still reccomend this though, the music isn't that distracting.

Perfectly fine but disappointing in a way
7 June 2019
It's sad to know that this is the last film of the X-Men franchise that started 19 years ago - I'll admit that I have a soft spot for these films and find it disheartening that these films after a certain point are immediately put on blast by certain people. *MCU fanboys*

But about this film, I enjoyed it. I liked where the story went albeit it was a little predictable and I would've wished for a gracious goodbye to this incarnation of the X-Men despite these being the younger versions. The only way I can put this is that you should go see it if you've enjoyed the main X-Men films thus far but keep in-mind that this is the final film for these versions of these characters since Fox got bought by Disney and all that.

The Twilight Zone: Blurryman (2019)
Season 1, Episode 10

Pretty Good.

I'll be honest, I hated most of the episodes of this season - The Comedian, Nightmare at 30,000 Feet, A Traveler, Six Degrees of Freedom and The Blue Scorpion are the only ones I find to be genuinely good in their own ways but then again, I haven't watched the other Twilight Zones shows.

Not to beat a dead horse, but putting an obvious, blatant and disrespectful agenda screaming out of the other episodes obviously hasn't worked and I hope the writers and showrunners take the criticisms and feedback to heart for the second season.

Wow.

I'm not much of a reviewer or anything, but I really don't have many complaints in-regards to the film as a whole. The production team, directors, stuntmen etc. keep upping the bar with every John Wick entry and somehow surpass the previews scenes. Not to spoil anything but some of the kills were especially brutal to watch (ie. book... that is all)

The story does what needs to do with some revelations at the end - the script was quite witty and kept the interest when there's no action sequence going on, but be rest assured, the whole film's an action sequence with occasional breaks.

So yeah, watch this as soon as you can. If you were a fan of Chapter 1 and 2, this is a fine addition.
