Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Resurrection (1997)
Kira gets her groove back?
Kira falls in love. Again... Steamy gossip awaits. It's hard not to sigh when the mirror universe characters cross over are the main story plot... I do enjoy the Kira character cross over but is it needed at this point in the series?
Night Club (1989)
Life imitating art? But not in a good way...
This movie is the closest I could find resembling anything close to The Room. Nicholas Hoppe wrote and stars in this movie which tells me that this was not just an idea for a movie but it was about a ex girlfriend who broke his heart for real!
Who hurt you Nicholas?!
I would recommend this movie for a weekend in the category of "Its so bad its good" films.
Its odd this film has heart, but only because the guy who wrote and stars in the movie seems to be re-accounting a former relationship he had in a psychotic way...
Doom: Annihilation (2019)
"Clear!". Its clear, this is bad...
I was unaware that a new doom movie was made but here we are with another doom film. It's "clear" and obvious this films had a lot problems but the budget was clearly missing. It feels like the film was plagued with bad acting and bad direction from the get go. Most likely money was funneled and they were left with maybe a $8 mil project.
Future Kick (1991)
If Total Recall and Terminator had a baby it would be Future Kick!
Cyborgs, space ships, VR and strippers oh my!
Not only does it have actions but it has BOOBS! I mean a LOT of boob action. I would rename this film to "Future Boobs".
This is a entertaining 90's B action film that should not be taken serious but rather with glass of wine or many shots. I would say this film would be a great drinking night movie because it has so many scenes where they completely rip off scenes from Total Recall and Terminator.
I give this 7 future kicks to the face out of 10.
Insomniac with Dave Attell (2001)
This show is "The National Geographic" of late night bar hopping!
Bar hopping around the United states and his global tour would take you into the night life of bar hopping and drinking but would also dive right into late night jobs such as waste management, Radio DJ's, PEst control and oh yes Fetish clubs...
Everyone was real and no staged actors needed!
With his camera man Brian, Dave Attell would lead you on a drunken ride with only the sunrise to let you know it was time for the show and the night to come to an end.
Dave Attell is one of the funniest raunchy, clever and improv comedians of our time. It was such a amazing show to watch when I was in high school and is still one of the best reality TV show to date.
Duckman (1997)
Dark, Funny, quirky and down right nasty!
Duckman follows a sexist, incompetent, loud mouth, and down right nasty private eye detective who is struggling to find any work to support his outlandish family that despises him. With Grandma farting up a storm to his two headed teen son. Duckman is a traditional detective who lazily awaits for unsolved crimes to fall into his lap as he is accompanied by Cornfed his trusted side kick who solves most of the crimes with Duckman taking credit for. As the two struggle to solve each case in a toxic shady city that resembles LA at its worst that is run by corrupt politicians and underground organized crime.
I loved this show growing up and staying up late at night. USA provided us with some very adult and sometimes strange series (Troma, Joe bob briggs marathons) that defined my generation. Duckman is one of those last of the great adult cartoons of the late 90s.
Jason Alexander does a wonderful job voicing for Duckman and Greggory Berger brings to life the traditional detective from the 1960's.
I highly recommend this show!
Ghostbusters (2016)
Why name it Ghostbusters?
I give this film 1 bag of ectoplasm and a Bill Murray throwing himself out of a window.
Just another remake of the first Ghostbusters with comedy that falls face first into the pavement...
Who was the target audience for this film? Because I don't know one person who actually enjoyed this film.
If the gender roles were flipped the script would have to be rewritten because of the sexiest remarks throughout the film regarding men.
The on going jokes about how "Dumb and Sexy" Kevin is, who is played by Chris Hemsworth gives me the notion that the writers were in fact "OK" with the idea to view the character as a dumb sex object throughout the film.
Did I mention Queef jokes?
I think Kate McKinnon is hilarious on SNL but she was absolutely terrible in this movie. With her 20 different accents she reminded me of a drug addict that suffers from multiple personality disorder which made me cringe throughout the movie.
The comedy falls flat on its face with "Awkward" moments of silence and the upstaging of Kate McKinnon. Along with recurring jokes like Wonton soup and youtube comments which each came up three different times!
I was very skeptical about seeing this movie at the theaters so I waited for the DVD release. With the backlash of online disgust over the movie trailers, I had to keep a open mind when it was released on DVD. The added dance sequences were unbearable with a already awful sound track with no real direction of suspense or pacing. The original had great orchestrated music which gave a supernatural feel and suspense.
Overall I would say that this film played off of the negative comments and notion that people don't think women are funny and shouldn't star in comedies. Which is just absurd! This movie was so bad they had to make drama up in order to publicize the train wreck that Sony created.
Call it something else!
Cinemassacre's Monster Madness (2007)
Its Madness alright!
James Rolfe AKA AVGN brings to light every October a tribute to genres like horror, psycho logical and suspenseful films. By giving a light review without spoiling the plot and ending and even giving facts about the film and actors.
I love how open he is giving us his hilarious opinion on some of the films that really impacted his life even influencing his work, as well as some of us. I look forward every year to watching his list of horror movies. This year he is going through the ages of horror which starts off with the top 10 for each decade starting with the 1930s and continues on to the 21st century. My first memory as a child was watching Night of the Creeps on television back in the 80s. This movie influenced my life in ways I never thought were possible. As a horror fan I would highly recommend watching this series of videos because you will probably find something new with each episode.
Sorceress (1982)
Goatboy, twins sisters exposing themselves and zombies! Need I say more?
When I came across this film my first thought was "Ok, another Deathstalker knock off fantasy". But after watching the entire film I realized that this film did set its own pace and by pace I mean lots of BOOBS! It was the 80s and Fantasy Sci-fi films were being published by just about every production company at the time. Rating system back in the 80s was pretty much anything goes. And I mean anything! This film follows two twin sisters that have magical and physical powers given to them by a ancient wizard/god at birth to assist them on there journey. The two sisters meet a Goatboy and punch him square in the FACE! But later realize that the Goatboy and viking are both there to help them on there journey to defeat Traigon the evil wizard. Over all the movie is pretty fun to watch and gave me some good chuckles. I would recommend to anyone that enjoys low budget 80s fantasy films. I have to admit that this movie does have a lot of boobies scenes in it so that is always a plus for me.
