True Detective (2014)
Smoke lobby made this
First one is very good. Third one takes too long to come to a conclusion and everybody smokes....a lot, extreme much, so much that it became irritating.
I would have rated it 8 if the interference of the smoke lobby wasn't that obvious.
More series at Netflix seem to be funded by the smoke lobby. So it seems. More and more smokers continuously smoking excessively.
All series switch a lot from historie (long ago) other historie (less long ago) and a sort of present (in the 70s 80s or more recent)
The switching clears questions sometimes, but sometimes it creates more questions. Even though it is clear "where or when" you are, sometimes it does not add something to the story and you can get bored. Third series was like that, because it took too long to understand the relevant chronological events. When you lose interest, you might miss important parts of scenes.
However, I recommend this series even if you are an ex-smoker like me. 😂
Kajillionaire (2020)
Brilliant and painfully funny
A very deep, impressive and very humoristic film. I can understand primarily you feel you don't understand the absurdistic humour. If you miss it maybe this film is not for you, but the entering a post office shop and the avoiding of the very understanding landlord are unprecedented. As well as the bizar defect of the place they rented. I thought it was rather hilarious.
But most of all, the movie was very touching and not hilarious at all. I really felt sorry for the main character (brilliantly played by Evan Rachel Wood) and was so moved when she gave away her toothpick.
Very impressive the way the many layers fluidity changed lanes and back.
Loved it!
The Sleepover (2020)
Just a nice happy family film
Not for adults, but for children a pretty exciting and nice spy-like movie. They seemed to like it! So their rating is 7.
Btw, I love Netflix...
Dark (2017)
was soll das heißen
The serie is very well thought through, but a bit tiresome complex. It should be called " was soll das heißen" (what's this or what does this mean!), because this is the line that was said most by all characters.
It's understandable, because the complexity is almost rediculous. It's filosophically a nice thought experience, but unnecessary complex. A bit matrix-like and Jonas does call it the Matrix several times.
